Went to NMA to watch the Tornado finale flypast. I was surprised at how big the place was and at the amount of memorials there. Very well looked after, clean and tidy.

This, put simply, is an amazing place. Great for all ages, lovely to see children being able to run around and explore, likewise there's plenty of quiet spaces for reflection and thought. I wonder how many times you'd need to go before you felt like you'd seen everything. I know I'm nowhere near that stage yet!

Today I have experienced one of the most memorable days of my life by visiting the National Memorial Arboretum. There is a small train that people with walking difficulties can use if needed because of the vast area it covers although the site is mostly flat. There is a gift shop and a cafeteria on site. The Arboretum is spotlessly clean throughout. Whilst walking around and taking it all in I couldn't help thinking about how brave and courageous our soldiers are now and have always been. I felt a lump in my throat thinking about the many thousands of soldiers who lost their lives to war and conflict trying to make the place we live in now a better place to be in. It was extremely touching. I'll be coming back to visit again this summer and will be staying all day because there were some areas that I didn't manage to get to. Many thanks to all the people who helped to construct the Arboretum as it is, in my eyes, the best monument that's been built for many hundreds of years.

It's a wonderful place where you can just walk or relax over lunch. You always learn something every time you go. It's a place you can visit time and time again. My grandchildren love it there, they are learning about modern history as they walk around. There are plenty of staff around if you or they want to know anything. We visit regularly. See you again soon. Mr & Mrs Appleby.

You don't need to be services or ex services to come here. Mid week is good, tranquil interesting, good cafeteria light and spacious with most knowledgeable staff everywhere. Park all day for 3 quid and walk all day if you wish or pre book guided tours at a cost. Purchase a guide book and stumble around and find as much as you can, you'll never see it all in a day! There are mobility scooters for hire (best pre book) and all disabled facilities. If you are there at the right time of year see the poppy fields. No entry fee, donate generously, when you've been around it for a day you will feel generous! Make a day of it allow yourself time, its worth it!

What a superb and fitting memorial. In addition to the large central feature, which contains the names of all the fallen since the end of WWII, there are lovely, well maintained gardens that house numerous individual tributes. Every arm of the military sevices, support services, civil defence, industry, transport, farming and life saving services are remembered here. There is lots of on site parking, good food and toilet facilities and 2 good shops. Excellent disabled access and on site wheelchairs are available; also, transport to take people around the site. I love the chapel just outside the reception area. A beautiful and moving day .........
