This was our second visit here, still a very moving experience. The entrance building has been rebuilt since last year and is much improved with a large restaurant. The grounds and memorials are immaculately kept. Well worth a visit.

Third visit for a coffee stop while cycling with our club , couldn't believe how it had changed since our last visit . There was an exhibition of beautiful pictures that had poppies in them . The Resturant is fantastic , we sat outside the little coffee shop over looking the grounds , the cakes are delicious and the coffee was nice and hot , definitely worth a proper visit to have a good look round .

As an arboretum it is relatively new so there aren't many tall trees like some others, however as site of a wide variety of memorials it is very impressive!
There is quite a lot to see in the main building, including a good cafe, and some exhibitions.
Outside there are 150 acres to walk around as well as a land train and golf buggies to see the area.

We had a most interesting, memorable, interesting, and sometimes emotional first visit to the Arboretum.
I wanted to particularly visit the area dedicated to the Army Commandos.
My father served with No 2 Commando during WW2.

A place to gather your thoughts on all the lives lost of those protecting this island of ours. The mound with its circular walls engraved with the names of all the military killed since the Second World War is something ongoing. A meeting place for family and friends from all over the country to remember their loved ones.

This is a huge area full of memorials for not just military personnel but many civilian occupations too numerous to mention.

The site is easy to find as it is just off the A38 in Staffordshire and is located next to the river in peaceful countryside. The trees are starting to mature and as the years go by will make a forest of memories. There are very good facilities including tour rides around the very large site.

Do go.

On a sunny spring afternoon, a walk around the arboretum after a Sunday roast in the restaurant, was an interesting and moving experience. Walking around the memoral in the peaceful beautiful surroundings gave us time to reflect and think of all those who have given so much.

Had an excellent day. We used the land train which took us around with excellent summary which then enabled us to get our bearings before we went off to look around at our own pace. Cafe excellent and good value. Free admission but donations encouraged. All the staff who are volunteers were extremely helpful and went out of their way to make our visit memorable. Weather was good. Chapel with the beautiful carvings is a must. Well done to everyone.

The National Memorial is somewhere everyone should attempt to visit. The beauty of the grounds and multiple monuments are an experience and acknowledge the sacrifices made by so many over the years. There are good facilities and a shop where you are able to purchase memorabilia which helps towards the cost of keeping this open.

I visited the National Arboretum with a party attending The Snowdrop Parade for the RAF police. I was surprised on the improvements made since I last visited some 18 months before.
Everything was so well organised and even if you are not attending a service you can have a very interesting day out

Interesting and thought provoking visit. Excellent restrurant and cafe.
Food very good quality and very reasonably priced.
Excellent dog walk available. Plenty of doggy bins. Only issue was no water bowels for dogs but easy to carry one yourself.
Very approachable and helpful staff.
Have now been twice this month and will go again later in the year

What a moving and beautiful experience. This is a wonderful memorial to all of those who have sadly lost their lives during conflict. It's very moving and peaceful. There is a visitor centre with coffee shop/restaurant and exhibitions. It's free to enter the main memorials but there is a £5 recommended donation which goes towards the up keep of the grounds and memorials. There is a cost for the exhibition and the guided tours but you can take yourself around. All the memorials are outside and have good footpaths.
Definitely worth a visit.

I am a dog boarder and always looking for new and different walks. Pay £3.00 for parking car and money goes to the NMA. Fantastic staff, so friendly and willing to help. Great boundary walk, views of the River Thame and the Trent. You can take in the wonderful atmosphere although dogs not allowed everywhere. Pit stops, poop bins etc all available.Dogs can be taken to cafe but stay outdoors with seating and cover.

Visited with my father on his 88th birthday. The staff were all very informative and helpful. Had a 45 minute buggy tour with Dennis who shared his knowledge and personal experiences with us. This was an excellent way to see and hear as much as possible in a short space of time.
You could easily spend a whole day here taking in all the different memorials. Excellent restaurant and shop.
Very spacious, clean and calming place. New memorials are being added all the time. Volunteers are the backbone.
Will return in the Summer to see more and experience the poppy field.

I always see something different at the arboretum. They've always got something on there too so worth checking for any events. There's lots of information boards at some of the key memorials which are really interesting and helpful. There's so much to see here and I still don't think I've covered it all yet! The cafe does great food and I really recommend the soups, they come with really good bread.

We were doing a WRAC reunion, and decided that as part of this we would visit the Arboretum. It was a great visit and so glad we had the opportunity to walk around it.

Staying locally so visited here. Definitely recommend it. Such a moving & humbling place but all done with such taste. The place us immaculate & all the volunteers we met were friendly & very knowledgeable. We opted for the buggy tour & we're not disappointed - info about the various points & history & general info about the place. As a bonus the coffee shop does great coffee & cake, which was needed with a cold wind. Would recommend wearing sensible shoes as the site us massive& although a lot of paths some "off roading". Can't recommend enough. Very emotional but a small price to pay.

I visited the arboretum with friends last weekend, sunny but chilly day. The wall of names was very thought provoking. The staff were polite and helpful, the whole venue was very clean.I should imagine on a sunny warmer day it would be a very peaceful place to visit and I will definitely return

Last visit was over 10 years ago and it was well worth a return visit . We visited with friends and decided to take the land train to get an overview and then we had a stroll around the different memorials.

It's a stunning place even with the large central memorial and very thought provoking. We stopped for lunch which was good value in pleasant surroundings.

We won't leave it another 10 years until we visit again

A fitting place for all those involved in war and conflict, coming from a service background seeing all the service memorials was thought provoking, but I particularly liked the memorials to the rail workers and others that were non military. The Shot at Dawn memorial stops you in your tracks, as now we know that some of those young men would have had Post traumatic stress, The site is laid out with paths but you do need to go 'off road' to see memorials closely, It was wet and muddy when we were there so good walking footwear required! There is so much to see and do you do need to set aside a good day. Overall a well planned, laid out site and a fitting memorial site.

My partner and I went here and loved every minute of it its free to get in .but 3 pound to park the car
We payed 6.50 for a book which as lots of interesting things in it and a map of the area we walked around for 5hrs but only saw a fraction of it .if going would recommend 2 days if walking around .you can go on a buggie or there is a train which goes around we wanted to walk so we could get a better look.there is so much to see better if planed on what you want to see will definitely be going back .

Visited with a number of friends to visit the NMA.
The new building and cafe now makes a wonderful difference to the NMA
the chapel now feels more accessible as the hero square is now part of it
More coffee shops and the new steps to millennium way have really transformed the area
Purchased lunch which was a sandwich and a drink, reasonably priced and it all goes to support the NMA
