The Police Memorial needs an information board to explain the concept . Otherwise our visit was as always a great experience.

A fabulous place to visit, especially if you appreciate a man in uniform (if you're lucky)! Free entry but you pay for car parking, it is a perfect destination to wile away a few hours in the tranquility of the Staffordshire countryside. Spread over acres of land with hundreds of trees,, you can wander the paths and admire the many memorials dotted around. The most heartbreaking is the Shot at Dawn memorial to those executed for desertion or cowardice during WWI. Take tissues, it's emotional. πŸ’”

Wanted to visit for some time. Stopped off on our way past & got lucky.

The Arboretum recommends advanced booking to ensure parking & avoid disappointment. Judging by how quickly the car park filled, we got lucky.

What a beautifully poignant place! Even in the cold end of winter we couldn't fail to be impressed: pretty, well laid out and so poignant.

Whether you come to remember, to look at the trees, or to look at the art - there's something for you.

Also a cracking cuppa and decent scran.

We'll be back.

Well worth your support and visit.

Remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we can have the freedom we have today.

We will remember them πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

I didn't see much of this place to do it justice but what I saw was most moving, the trees were lovely..each one representing someone who had died in a war.
There were monuments and sculptures and artwork all dedicated to folk who had given their lives.

National Memorial Arboretum is the UK's year-round centre of Remembrance and home to iconic Armed Forces Memorial.
Visited on day 2 of Armd Forces Weekend 2021.
Such an amazing place to visit. I love it here, gives me time to remember and pay my respect with the added bonus to say a prayer.
The Train ride is another interesting adventure to go through. Give you loads of facts that you might not see while walking round

Without a doubt the most breathtaking experience, peaceful, respectful and emotional. I would recommend that all go as it is amazing.
I learnt alot about different regiments, ones I hadn't heard of and the centre monument is one that no words can describe.
Car park is only Β£4 all day, dogs are welcome and there is a lovely restaurant with teas, coffees and food all proceeds go to the NA .
Entry is free but a donation can be made.

We spent a couple of hours just walking around Reading names, looking at the different memorials. Everyone was very welcoming, plenty of helpful of people with buggies to help anyone in need. We didn't go on the train this time it goes round the site & gives you information there is a charge on the train. We used a mobility scooter while there which helped as the path ways in every area were accessible for scooters prams ect.

It's become a stop off destination when traveling for the amazing cafe which has a great range of home made / locally produced items served by a friendly and enthusiastic team.

The arboretum itself is amazing which I have visited many times but new items are being added and as trees mature / paths improved it's always good to spend time.

It's a very large size but for those with reduced mobility there is the land train which does trips round.

My partner and I really love coming to the arboretum, it’s a really calm and peaceful place to pay respect. It’s really lovely to walk around the arboretum and take in all the memorials, wild life and flowers and to also remember all the people that were extremely brave and fought for our country.

Friendly and welcoming staff, all very helpful and courteous. Thank you for letting me record on the grounds. It's a beautiful place and plenty of great spots for a picnic and a lovely walk around the memorials. A very special place indeed. Thank you also from my father who felt very comfortable once he had a walk around the grounds and remembering his friends. I greatly appreciate the work you all do. I'll definitely be back again.

Doesn't matter what age you are, this is well worth a visit. Start it off with a ride on the 'train', where the commentary is very good. Also, you will see a lot and then you can decide where you want to walk to.
