Went here for family visit one evening. The cocktails are a must, try the gin cocktails, they are great. Staff so friendly and the food is just fantastic, you won't get it anywhere else. Will be going again with friends for dinner.

My third time here and it never fails to please. I believe the menu is changed regularly and there is something for everyone. The service is chilled, relaxed and friendly. Definitely highly recommended and definitely returning in the not to distant future.

Went here for a Saturday evening meal with good friends and left having had a enjoyable night but feeling slightly disappointed by the food here. The service was very good and all the staff made us feel right at home and the building itself is lovely.
The food compared to other similar local French restaurants was distinctly average. Three of the four of us had a starter then we all had main and dessert. The bill worked out at £45 per head , which included a bottle of house white and a couple of beers, which is no means extortionate but I did expect the food to be a bit better . But saying that we are returning next month for lunch to see if it was just a one off. Good ambience is a plus just wanted a little wow factor somewhere along the line.

Went here with my partner for a romantic meal, and we were not disappointed. Service was amazing, young lady was very attentive and polite, despite the restaurant being so busy. The manager was charming.. Ambiance simply lovely. I had a pork dish which was delicious and my partner had the same. Sublime. We will definately be back. Thoroughly recommend 😊😊

Lovely food, albeit portions somewhat small. Overall very good, but all staff attentive and professional. Our waitress, Meghan was superb...perfect attention to all....but others too excelled! Will return to this little gem, sometime soon. Thank you for a lovely, enjoyable evening.

We went here on a Saturday afternoon.
We booked ahead as we had read the reviews and knew that it would be busy.Nice welcome, open fire, cosy setting.
Good comfort food, not small portions but not pub sizes, small plates of quality tasty food.Very enjoyable.
We would go back.

Having been here several times, it is always great and especially when celebrating special occasions. The staff are warm and friendly without being pretentious. The food and drink is a cut above anything else you’ll find locally - even concentrating the best of local produce (e.g. beers from good local breweries like Nethergate). Being a wine house as well the wine is good - if not sure then ask for a pairing. Some of what we tried included the tagliatelle, mussels and chocolate mousse. Always a pleasure to visit.

I have eaten at ‘The Secret Garden’ on a few occasions now and each time the food has been superb, presented well and tasty. The ambiance of the restaurant is peaceful and the service is always excellent, with friendly and helpful staff, that do not feel the need to keep on checking in with you like a lot of the larger chains do.
The is a set price for the menu (slightly more expensive at the weekend) and prices are pretty reasonable especially when you consider the food and service you receive, I totally recommend.

Walked past this restaurant and decided to try. We hadn’t booked a table but we were told if we came back in half an hour we would be able to have table. Returned to a lovely welcome and a lovely two course meal for £19.50 plus wine. Lovely crab soufflé and mushroom tagliatelle followed by nougat ice cream and mango sauce. Great atmosphere friendly welcoming staff, bright airy dining area flooded in gorgeous March sunshine. Definitely be coming back.

Very good home made food. Inventive menu. We all had different starters, mains and deserts and they were all exceptionally good. The service was top rate.
This is a very good restaurant but it is slightly let down by the drab decor (old 'brown' furniture and dark varnished tables). The high quality of the food and service really deserves crisp white linen and more elegant decor. At present it looks more like an old fashioned tea room. It means I would hesitate to recommend it for a special occasion.

I had not visited this restaurant for years, it was a tea shop when I went last. Buzzards Hall is a beautiful building and has been enhanced by the owner. Wonderful atmosphere. We enjoyed the two course lunch menu with the delight of a delicious amuse bouche. It was very tasty as were the starters - pastlla and wild boar pate with home made bread. The main courses were well presented - tagliatelle and guinea fowl - delicious. Definitely recommend a visit.

We unanimously agreed that it was one of the best dining experiences we have enjoyed in a long time. Every course was delicious and imaginative; the service was genuinely warm and welcoming; staff were knowledgeable and took the time to answer any questions we had about the dishes on offer. The setting in a beautiful, timber-framed listed building all contributed to the experience. We wil definitely be returning.

We had a pre Christmas set menu with a good bottle of wine.
Excellent.
Risotto and a French influence on Christmas dinner and profiteroles.
And the bread with smoked salmon and beetroot.
What can I say. We are definitely making it a monthly date lunch.

My wife and I visited on a Wednesday evening to celebrate her birthday. We live in Sudbury and have been several times before and love the café as well. The evening made me realise that we have failed to make the most of this splendid restaurant mainly I think because fine dining is inextricably associated with expensive. We had 3 courses with matching wines for each course recommended by Stephan, a beer, free bread and amuse bouche and the bill came to a little over £80. The food and wine were all excellent and complimented each other superbly. It is easy to spend much more and get food and wine of far inferior quality and we will be back to support this fine establishment soon.
