My little son Jerome spent his last hours in Acorn Hospice at Walsall. The staff are so compassionate and professionals. They always tried not to hurt with anything else, their facilities are amazing. Even they looked after our other two kids during this time. Staff are so co-operative and caring, I never see such a wonderful health care professionals in my life. These people are amazing, I wish no one should not get a chance to use hospice facility but if ever it comes, no doubt Acorn is brilliant. Please donate to their charity appeal. Gisha & Family

This local Hospice has been doing a very difficult job for a very long time, they provide a top totch service under the most challening cercusmstances and ensure Walsall children have somewhere to go when the going gets tough. I will be doing some fundraising this year with my coleagues and we look forward to working withb Sally and the team

Its such a great cause! The staff are very friendly and work so hard. When I worked there as a volunteer co-ordinator, I feel that everything was done to ensure the happiness and welfare of the children in respite.

When I think of the word hospice, I think of morbidity and sadness. However, this is not the case at Acorns! I am a volunteer there and when I arrive and start to spend time with the children it just feels as if I am volunteering at an extended holiday camp. I quickly forget about the condition of the child and they abstain from their condition for an hour or so aswell, as we simply just enjoy painting or playing videogames. This is testament to the environment Acorns has created, where the focus is not on death but life. Everyone is so happy there-it is not a place that the children fear going to but look forward to going to.

Acorns is amazing in that they give every child and family member who comes through their doors the utmost love care and respect. Each child is made to feel special and their time with acorns, whilst often life limited is always fulfilled, enriched and complete.
