There's a rumour going round Aldridge that this place was only set up as the council refused to give permission for another Indian restaurant... Authentic Italian cuisine it is not...
Still the food was edible, staff are friendly and you at least see the chefs spinning pizza dough in the open kitchen, which is a nice touch. It really is nothing special, though, and the size of the portions on the Sunday set menu aren't exactly great value for money considering, but it ultimately does the job. I think it's the kind of place where you'd have a few drinks, a chat but not pay too much attention to the food, which is a bit of a poor show considering it's a restaurant.
Birmingham is still the realistic close option if you fancy a good Italian though...

We visited on a Saturday evening and it was very busy. The welcome was good and the initial service was excellent but long delay with main course and under cooked meat led to a complaint to the manager. He had an excuse for each point we mentioned and offered no apology. He did knock a small amount off the bill but an apology and acknowledgement of mistake would have been more acceptable. Will not be returning, shame as the food was reasonably priced and quite nice.

Visited on a Thursday night went for the mid weekset menu after hearing very good things about the restaurant. The visit was lovely, very attentive staff, nice simple Italian style dishes and a bottle of red included in the set menu. Travelled well out of town to visit an well worth it with excellent value for money.

We have been to Da Vinci's four times, birthday, night out, with friends and called in at lunchtime for a snack. Each time we have had a great choice of menu. the food was served quickly and was piping hot. The staff made us feel special and each occasion we enjoyed our meals.
Great value for money

I have been to Da Vinci's about 10 times and each time I have been very pleased with my experience. Although it is described as an Italian restaurant I would not call it as authentic Italian cuisine. However, the quality of the food is wholesome and the choice is good.
There are a number of special menu options and I have first hand experience of the weekday lunchtime and evening selections. The choice on both is limited but there is enough variety to please most diners. The lunchtime 2 course menu includes an excellent prawn salad as a starter and a very generous Caesar salad. The meatballs as a starter is a more generous option than the main course. This costs £6.95.
The evening special has 3 courses and includes a bottle of wine between 2 people (it used to be 1 per person!) for £15.95. The dessert choice is fair and would appear to be predominantly previously frozen. Both are preceeded by complimentary bread and oil and balsamic vinegar. The waiting staff comprises a group of very pleasant and helpful individuals.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant for good value and friendly and efficient service.

After reading reviews on here we decided to give it a shot as we were stopping locally, glad we did as it was an excellent Italian, great open plan resturant with lots of room and big chunky tables to sit at
Only downside was service was a little slow in between courses, but staff were very polite, would definetly go again.

Went on a Sunday evening for a family celebration. Was pleased to find out there was a very good offer on - £10 for a 4 course meal.
Food was excellent, particularly the starters and main. The calzone with bolognese sauce was the best I've had for a long time. The desserts were a bit of a disappointment but will definitely be visiting again.

Well what can we say, the service is first class and the staff are very attentive and very friendly.
The food is always cooked fresh and nothing is too much trouble for the chef! We always leave this lovely restaurant with full tummies and a smile on our faces, looking forward to our next visit.

Family of 5 adults went to Da Vincis for a birthday treat, all was very satisfactory, the food was good, we all had different meals, 2 of us had the midweek 3 course special including a bottle of wine, no problem with the service we had 3 different people attending to us and thats where the problem came from, when we asked for the bill no one seemed to know what we had ordered so they seemed to make it up. When the bill came it included 2 main meals from the 3 course special in addition an extra £24, they didnt argue but if you go check you bill carefully. A shame really because the food is good and plenty of atmosphere, lots of people in for a Tuesday evening.

Based on our general experience of trying to get a half decent meal in the Walsall area we went to Da Vinci's with very low expectations. However, we were so surprised on our first visit that we had to go back again to make sure we were not dreaming! An excellent, varied and very reasonably priced menu, preceded by a selection of oil, balsamic, olives etc if required and a good selection of drinks.
We have not yet managed to sample the dessert menu, but all our starters and main meals have been delicious. They can sometimes be a little on the slow side but soon chase things up when asked (besides, who needs fast food when eating Italian?!) Above all, we were impressed with the delightful staff who look after you from the minute you enter and who seem genuinely interested in whether you are enjoying yourself - not just the ubiquitous and subsequently increasingly meaningless "enjoy your meal " type of attitude. Very pleasant surroundings, no over-powering music blaring out - what more could you ask for in a local restaurant?

I don't like Italian restaurants, as a rule. Lot's of them are crap, overpriced excuses, but Da Vinci's was a great surprise. We visited on a Monday evening, so it was quiet, but still had a few customers. Service was fine, food quality excellent, and food and drink very good value for money.

We recently visited da vincis on a Saturday night. It was very busy so we did have to wait a little for our table but we were able to sit and have a drink so we didn't mind too much. Service throughout the evening was excellent and we could not fault the food. There was a slight ,is take with my husbands main meal but this was quickly rectified so did not cause us any trouble. Overall it was very affordable and we will definitely be returning.

If it hadn't been for the starter; Assortimento, this would have been a poor review. It was delicious and saved the meal from disaster!
We went on a Saturday night for my 50th birthday and I do wish we'd gone elsewhere. The place was full so we expected service to be a little slow but it was virtually at a stand still.Table had been booked and so to have wait 10 minutes for a table to become available is unforgivable in my book. To then wait another 20 minutes before the menu arrived just added salt to the wound. Then we waited an hour for the starter to arrive and it was another hour before the main course turned up...several dishes light, they arrived 10 minutes later and we asked them to take them away because they hadn't arrived with the main courses themselves and we were not going to pay for them.
To give the restaurant some credit they did apologise for the bad service and gave us a bottle of house red to take away but we will not return and this is because the food is nothing to write home about. As I said the Assortimento was very good but the main courses were bland and over cooked. My rack of lamb was well done and dry; not good. The tagliatelle dish was overcooked also. The salad was straight out of a Morrisons bag.The staff were pleasant enough but you don't go to a restaurant to enjoy being spoken to nicely, you go for good food and service and they didn't really fulfil on that one.

at last a great restaurant in aldridge - been several times with various party sizes, always had good friendly service, great food & wine. also tried the mid week special menu (3 couses plus bottle of wine per couple) BRILLIANT- 7 in our party but gave us a fouth bottle of wine, needless to say we all left very well fed and tipsy for 15.95 each (which by the way wouldnt even get u a bottle of wine at potabellos). if you want a great food at a very very good price you will not be disapointed

This restaurant occupies the premises of a defunct nightclub on the first floor of the Aldridge shopping centre. It consists of one large room with a bar/seating area in one corner and the open, visible cooking area at one end. We decided to try it early on a Saturday night.
The waiters/waitresses were all pleasant, friendly and attentive without being pushy and all had smiles on their faces. Service was first-class. The food was good overall. I particularly enjoyed the duck, which was tender and flavoursome in a very tasty sauce. The menu is extensive(perhaps too extensive?) Total cost for 2 persons £57 for three courses and coffee, including two glasses of wine. The portions were not large-a plus in our view. Definitely a venue to recommend and worth further visits.

I've never written a review before but Da Vinci's is well worth the effort. We have eaten here several times now and each time have found the staff friendly and welcoming, the food absolutely sublime, the ambiance warm and inviting and all at excellent value for money. It's our new favourite place to dine.

Have been to this restaurant three times now, each time with a large party. Each time the service was very good, the staff attentive but not pushy. They coped well with numerous orders at once. The food was excellent every time - perfectly cooked and well presented. The portions are generous. The wine list is good and not expensive. I would recommend this without hesitation.
