My husband had mention The Vine quite a lot as he had been here several times with from work with work colleagues. We came here from our trip to Birmingham Bull Ring Shopping as we had ridden on the Metro and stopped off and restaurant was near to one of the stops.
We had ordered chicken tikka, methi chicken tikka, sheesh kebabs and their fish. Waited 10-15 for order to arrive, drinks ordered separately. When order came they had forgotten the fish the young chap was telling the older chap off maybe because he had forgotten to put the fish on?? So had to wait for another 10 minutes. My son started to eat his chicken and said it was too hot had to get water with ice!. ..... This was a first as my son never had a problem with chicken tikka??? I enjoyed my sheesh kebabs.... thumb up to the chef!! My husband loved his fish once arrived and his methi chicken tikka. Anything we didn't finished was packed in a little takeaway. But must say the taramind sauce was fantastic.... Any chance for the recipe please???
As we went to pay the bill we had noticed that instead of chicken tikka it had masala tikka which is why my son said his was hot!!Overall the cost prices for meal was adequate, we sat were they had the open grill kitchen.

We pop in when we've had to work late, we usually sit in one of the front rooms as I love the history of old West Brom pubs,
lots of choice and you can choose meat or veggie options and choose 'the curry' ... Fabulous idea! if you can't find anything you fancy you're obviously too fussy!!!!
Meals are very quick, hot, fresh and the bread is always superb,
There is a bbq at the back which looks great,
Spent our 'works do' here at Christmas, as I'm local I suggested The Vine, colleagues are still talking about!!!!!!!!! They loved it.

This is now a favourite with me and my work colleagues for a visit after work. The food and the atmosphere are excellent. From the outside it looks like an old fashioned boozer up a West Bromwich side street but when you step inside it is like a tardis. Cosy small drinking areas at the front (original part of the pub) and two large dining areas at the back one with an open grill kitchen so you can see the food being cooked. Extensive curry and grill menus and Indian beer on draft. Cost of a meal including a drink under £10. Main courses are large so think twice about starters. Quick service and everything served fresh, hot and full of flavour. No frills system order curries at the bar and grills directly at the open kitchen area and you get an order number - collect when your order is called. Definitely the best eating place in the area.

Never fails to hit the spot. Been going over 20 yrs. Cheap night and always tastes amazing. Not tried all the curries from sukhis but the barbecue food is great.

Great variety of beers and currys. Indoor BBQ is great too with food cooked in front of you. Very popular locally with families, workers and office people. Great service too.

First time I had been to the vine in West Brom, it was to meet a few work colleagues after work. I was first in, grabbed a drink at the bar and wandered around until I came accross an Indoor grill section at the back of the place. The smell was incredible.
It's a little odd how you order, the grill is grill only and you can only order the grill menu, for everything else you go to the bar in the front, then return to your seat and someone will call your number out and bring it to you.I only ordered some masala chicken and methi chicken from the grill. Within ten minutes it was cooked, I got called over and I picked up the chicken.
It was amazing, incredible, tasty, succulent... Hungry yet? I took the rest to work with me the next day.The guys on the grill are a little odd, but had a good laugh non the less.
So, just to clarify: grill menu, you order at grill. If you want a naan bread, rice etc, you order at the front. I started a tab, it became easier
If I lived closer to the vine, I would be coming here for that chicken multiple times per week.

We popped into The Vine on Saturday evening for a family get together / birthday celebration! There was over twenty of us in total.
We were looked after very well! The food came out together and was fresh and tasty!
Some of my family members were amazed by how fast the food was delivered and the quality of the food!
We all shared the barbeque meats – then had curries to top it up. The vegetarians in the family commented how nice the vegetarian options where. Bar was very well stocked with some nice whiskeys!
Love The Vine! Great to see a family business doing so well in the area! Friendly, clean and a safe/friendly place to bring the family out. Parking can be a little bit of a problem – but talking to the owner he mentioned a Car Park being built soon. Keep up the good work!

What a fabulous place, just like an Aladdin's cave. From the outside looks like an ordinary pub with no frills. Lovely and relaxing atmosphere with good tasty food. Ordered a chicken tikka masala and freshly cooked keema nan, that didn't disappoint.

Having been coming to the Vine for years and there is nowhere quite like it. Indoor barbecue is their specialty, and when we first came many years ago, that was about it. The curry dishes were not that special. Then the main dishes improved dramatically, and the only thing that let them down was the naan bread and chapatis., Guess what, the bread is now first class. Rightly popular, so pick your time to go. They also serve good beer.

Visited for lunch, 2 adults 2 kids. Naively didn't realise it was the 4th round of the FA CUP and WBA were playing at home so parking was a nightmare and the pub was rammed. This didn't effect the experience, the Indian food was delicious, try the shish kebabs fresh off the indoor bbq they're amazing. Just check the football fixtures first and avoid match day, as I don't follow football I had no idea and the pub was so packed by the time we came to leave we couldn't get out with the kids!

Visited the Vine prior to Swansea's match against The Baggies (1-1 draw). Firstly, the place is a Tardis. Looks very small from outside and then it gets bigger and bigger. Some small rooms and also some very large dining areas.
The menu is mostly Indian and the food was gorgeous. I had vegetable curry with pilau rice and my friend had saag chicken. Both were around £7 - excellent value.Plenty of staff at the bar, so even though the pub was very busy, there was little delay in getting served.
The atmosphere was good, both Swans and Baggies mixing and chatting, as it should be. The staff were very friendly. Two real ales on which were kept well but not particularly special on the day (a golden ale and a very pale ale). Probably just down to the fact that I like a darker stronger bitter but I knocked a mark off for that!
An excellent place for pre-match chat, drink and food. Thanks to all at the Vine and I will definitely return next time we play WBA.

We went here prior to away game at The Hawthorns. Friendly, good beer and tikka with naan bread to die for. 5 points given for the occasion and its suitability for pre match eats and beer. No rivalry or bad feeling. I would return tomorrow if it was closer to home!

First ever visit and well worth the wait. There was a lot of choice on the menu and also various lunch time specials. 3 pints, 2 chicken tiķka and salad, 1 masalla fries and a Garlic Naan for £21.85 seems good value to me. Special mention goes to Nikki for her help and we enjoyed the food that much we ordered a takeaway for tea.
Cheers

Stayed at a hotel near by for 2 nights. First night with friends next night as a couple. The 4 of us went to the Vine on Saturday night after reading good reviews. Donot be put off by the outside appearance. The place was bouncing as a home football match had been played. We found a table and 10 minutes after we ordered our food arrived and it was excellent. We all had starters which we shared and all had a different curry dish. It was all really tasty, fresh and hot. It was so good we went as a couple the next night and had the bbq. Beautiful we chose 3 different dishes and shared them. Will deffinately return next time we travel in that area.

Food is beautiful. Have been there a few times with friends, family and partner. I must say that food and drinks are a bit pricey. There git quite a few areas inside where you can sit eat and drink. Can get extremely crowded at times especially when the football is on.

It's a known fact......I love Curry, so do my in laws; and it was because of them today that we found the Vine in West Bromwich. Normally you go to an Indian Restaurant, order a ton of Lager, poppadoms and you sit down at a table with a crisp white table cloth waiting for your waiter.
How totally different this place is......
You get outside and you look at the front and you think to yourself "What a dump" but when you get inside it's like walking into the Tardis! It's all fresh and new and loads more room as you keep walking. It has more of a pub type atmosphere and you order your food from the bar and someone brings it to you. We ordered and our food was ready and out in about 5 minutes which was pretty good.
I'm a creature of comfort when I go for an Indian as I've learnt the hard way on many an occasion so I tend to stick to the same things
- Chicken Tikka Masala
- Mushroom Rice
- Keema Naan
This I ordered and I must say it was one of the cleanest looking things I've had, this I mean in the sense they've not used a whole ton of colouring in the food and it tastes really fresh. We had that and shared a starter of Chicken Tikka pieces off of the grill which was really fresh and proper tasting.
My Wife had a Chicken Keema Curry and Masala Chips which is an odd combo but tasted extremely good and together with drinks cost no more than £20!
Had no room for dessert but had a great time, look forward to going back again :)

Go for the food not comfort or ambience, waiting for a table is a pain however that is because this place is popular and always busy. Good prices, excellent food and good service

I was staying in a local hotel and fancied getting out for the evening. I looked on Apple Nearby and found this place. Was it a curry house was it a pub? Sid it give it a go I thought.
Bingo!!! It's everything real ale pub, curry house and indoor BBQ. Food is excellent I went for the special Goat Curry. Fantastic on the bone sweet succulent and spicy.
Great mix of people in gave it a great atmosphere as well. It's not just a pub, it's not a restaurant it's a bit of everything. Thank you Apple Nearby!!! Thank you The Vine!!!!!

The Vine is an amazing place. From the outside it looks like your typical real ale boozer but as soon as you step inside and get a waft of the food you know you've found somewhere a bit special. Head towards the back of the pub and you'll find an extension this houses a load of tables, a selection of menu boards (so much choice!) and the BBQ area where they do a selection of tandoori snacks - including massala fish and smoked trout.
It's hard to know where to start with the curries - you can create your own or opt for one of the chef's specials. There's also an extensive selection of veggie courses and a good choice of extras.
The only real complaint I have is the fact that I felt so stuffed afterwards it was quite a struggle to finish my beer. It's cheaply priced and the staff are nice, cant wait to try again.

We booked a table for four between Christmas and New Year, to include two wheelchair users, and the owners could not have been more helpful in ensuring that the visit went really smoothly. First of all, the staff are extremely helpful, recommending the specials. We opted for chicken biryani, curried lamb shank and the chicken curry prepared in a ceramic pot, all very authentic and delicious - the owners themselves are British-Indian. We had not been prepared for the size of the pub, which was frequented by a great mix of people and many families with young children. There was a pleasant family atmosphere, but small rooms off the main pub - you can eat anywhere you like, apparently - ensure that you can have privacy if you want. Toilets seem brand-new and are spotless.
Full marks for the food, and also for the flexibility of the staff for helping two wheelchair users into the pub without fuss. We'll be back!
