I'd you are going good into Walsall town the arboretum is a must see, there is a boating lake and there are also boats for you to enjoy a relaxing afternoon, there is a very nice cafe there too, the staff are very helpful too, you can also enjoy a pleasant walk around the back of the arboretum where it's has nature intended it to be, I was lucky to see a woodpecker and they do make a noise, there are cheeky squirrels too

Weather was a bit 'iffy' but the arboretum park at Walsall is just perfect, even better now that the refurbishment is finished. The swan pedalos on the lake is just finishing touch - wonderful, wonderful.

Lovely park which has had some much needed money spent on it.
There is a cafe with a nice eating area and a water park for when the weather is hot. Lovely area! Xxx

This is one of my most favourite places to walk especially in the summer but still nice in all seasons. It has a large lake with a band stand at the side that has shows there. There is a visitors centre where you can go for coffee and also a large play area for children. Defiantly something for everyone.

Three generations across eighty years went for a stroll around the arboretum have a cuppa and buy some duck food (to feed the ducks obviously!).

Some lovely kept gardens. Some nice installations. Although during the week the pedalos / boats weren't accessible this didn't distract from this visit.

Have used the excellent and reasonably priced tennis courts here too. The visitors centre and café was good. Although on the points for improvement the organisation in here could have been better as service was a little slow and a request from a customer in front of me in the queue was met with much confusion. The baby change facility in the visitors centre was easily accessed and was spotless.

But this place is a jewel and a fantastic advert for the town. Would be great to visit for a bandstand concert.

Just down the road from means I'd never been before....

Firstly the park is well kept with walkways suitable for those of us that don't really enjoy walking.

The visitor centre was friendly and serves coffees, snacks etc even on a Sunday.

Excellent variety of plants to see - as you'd expect from an arboretum.

I must say though hat I have never seen swan pedalo's gleaming white in the summer sun. I found myself staring at them.

I'd just got used to the novelty when there was a VW beetle pedalo.

Very surreal...

Very local to us. With plenty to do for kids it's always going to be a nice easy day out with family. A walk around the lake and the kids getting to explore the park and play on the swings etc. You can't really go wrong...

We visited here yesterday 3rd June with our 3 little ones, we had a great day and there is so much to do. We started off with the bouncy castle and the trampolines and went on the Swan pedalo's and the water park and play park, we had lunch in the cafe by the lake (considering where we were it was quite reasonable), the whole place is very clean and well kept. The prices for everything are sensible and we will go back again this summer more than once.

The only things I would note down are the young guy working the bouncy castle had his jeans halfway down his backside, im not sure why he would wear them like this, maybe it's fashionable? It must be uncomfortable, God knows why, but when working with children it's unacceptable. Also later on in the day on the "children's" play area there were groups of youths using the kids climbing frames etc, surely they have better things to do with their time.
This said it didn't ruin the day.

Great park, good for walking, playing sports, going on the park and even feeding the ducks! There's so much to do and the scenery is really great with the lake as well! Great for a few hours out as a family or a couple or even just for a run!

Free admission into the Arboretum. This was a our second visit in 3 weeks... the latest visit with my sister and her dog! Well kept grounds and beautiful flower beds. Plenty of places to walk and a nice 'cuppa' and tea cake at the cafe - where dogs are welcome on the patio area! The arboretum is a short walk from Walsall but we parked on the main car park off the Broadway. After walking around the arboretum we then walked along an area that has been 'reclaimed' and is now an extension to the arboretum. It is worth taking the time to do this part too... where lots of replanting has taken place. It was a sunny day and probably added to the experience, but we will defintely go again!

Stopped of on way home and was quite supprised at how large an area it covers. Also when we got there there was a 5k charity race for life event taking place. It was an excellent sight to see so many people taking part. Back to the park, it is very easy to walk around and there seems to be plenty of facilities on site. Would recommend this to everyone and will be going back again soon

I haven't been here for years and being a warm day we decided to stop here.

The park was busy as there was a fair there.

The park was scenic and well kept. Lots of beautiful flowers and great to see all the ducks too.

Was nice to have a stroll through the park and will definately come here again.

This is great for everyone, have a walk around the pool, feed the ducks, fishing or just sit and relax, it's a great place to walk the dog or to ride your bike, it has a fantastic park area that is fenced off for children...no dogs allowed in the play area, it has a state park and another extended walk

I admit Walsall is full of eye sores but this is certainly NOT one of them! I came here a lot as a child and it did go down hill, after the refurbishment it's back on top form. The visitor centre is lovely and clean and the new balconys are lovely! Glad to see a lot wildlife returning.

I have been here, more times than I can count, and for as long as I can remember. I have no idea where to start.
In the summer there used to be a little island with a slide that was filled with water. That got replaced a few years ago with a more modern water spraying thing, that I've been to every summer since its been there, there's a big park with a spider web, swings, a skate park, zip wire and other smaller standard things you'd find in a big park. Like a tennis court or two...
It is always a pleasant walk, whether you're on a bike, scooter, by yourself , or being dragged by too many dogs.
I've cream is always an option, or if you're the lunch in a box type, then you can always go to a picnic bench and sip your orange juice or tea, avoiding squirrels.
I saw some 'construction' being done to the lake, I think it's now better to say 'abduction' because I haven't seen it for a while. But if you're looking for a free place to spend the afternoon, then it's a nice place to be with your family. Or you could sit at home on your play station eating Pringles and drinking instant coffee.

Always has been a lovely park. Generally very peaceful with pleasant lakes and gardens. I have spent many a happy summers day here as a child and with my own children and grandchildren.
A word of warning though, do not let any children you are in charge of out of your sight and make sure they are escorted to and from toilets as it is notorious for dodgy characters.I have had to report one or two before now.

If you haven't visited lately - you're missing out! Lottery money has greatly improved the facilities of an already beautiful Victorian park. Stroll, run or cycle around the well maintained paths and lakes. Visit the new cafe - check out craft and other sessions offered there. Look out for free music events help at the band stand, or visiting fairs/circus. Attend special events such as dog shows, charity galas, classic car shows. Children will love the water park (no paddling pools - very safe for all ages) and play area catering for all ages. Feed the ducks (buy seed at the cafe rather than bread, which is not good for them), play table tennis on the outdoor table, book a tennis court, or a game of golf at the course beyond the arboretum. Do the 5k Park Run held every Saturday at 9 am, or for a longer run/cycle - extend it onto the canal running at the back of the arboretum. It's my local park and I love it!
