This is an absolutely gorgeous arboretum to visit on a sunny day - you can quite forget you're basically in a town centre and enjoy the trees, the birds and the general feeling of the place. Families can find lots of things to do between the playground, feeding the ducks and walking around, and there's lots of spots to picnic. If you like walks or just sitting and enjoying the outdoors, this is a lovely place to spend an afternoon.

All this said - I personally wouldn't recommend going when it's rainy, especially if it's been very rainy recently (unless you wear your wellies!). It sometimes floods and generally gets very muddy and waterlogged. Bear this in mind!

Also, if this is something of interest to you, there are multiple Pokemon gyms in the arboretum. You can have a lot of fun ambling around and trying to take them all on.

Really beautiful place to visit with plenty of pathways to walk. Has a decent size lake with a cafe near by that serves drinks and got food. There is also a nature trail that has several different routes

Lovely open spaces which are really well maintained. They had catered Well for visitors, providing fresh bin bags on all picnic tables for rubbish. Because of covid restrictions the toilets were closed in all places apart from the cafe, and all other activities apart from tennis were not on.
I would definitely recommend as a meeting place, which currently feels covid compliant.
