Really enjoyed my visit to Walsall Arboretum. Very short walk from the train station and a big park to have a nice afternoon walk in. The augmented reality app they have is great fun too, we don’t even have kids and still enjoyed it!

Beautiful park. Lovely setting with two lakes, and a stream running through. A cafe for a drink, and cake. Great playground for children.Tennis court, and picnic tables. Walk past the playground, and past the car park, and into the country park. Great for dog walking, but wellies needed for the long grass. If you’re very lucky, occasionally you may see a deer!

The park has definitely improved over the years. It is now clean, has pretty flowers and much safer as there are no places for delinquents to do delinquent things.

Good size park and enjoyed nice walk with the family. 4 stars as I think the wooden frames near lake could do with some cleaning or touch up paint

The brilliant scenery, made me feel free again, city life can take its toll on humans we tend to forget how beautiful nature really is, it was amazing breath of fresh air.
I will continue my visits now as the walk the puts my mind at ease and brings tranquility.
I recommend this to everyone!

What a beautiful jewel Walsall Arboretum is to visit. On a 'socially distancing' walk with my Mom who lives locally I realised what a wonderful facility we have right on our doorstep, fabulously maintained gardens, beautiful rose memorial garden with benches and pergola covered in wisteria, wonderful pathways and lots of variety of vegetation and plant life, monuments and plaques giving information. The positive of Coronavirus is that we've found some great walks locally and this comes top of the tree. Well done Walsall Council and the many volunteers that I know contribute to the upkeep for such a special place that's so well maintained. Look forward to visiting again soon.

Thank you.

I love this park, the nature and the views are so pretty, it's perfect for picnics and there's a park where the kids can play and a field for football. It's very picturesque :)

I love this place. They have had it rough this year. Floods, lockdowns. I cannot wait for things to go back to normal so can just have a relaxing walk around the lake!

I don’t live far from the arboretum and I can honestly say it’s so lovely and scenic here. We go on walks, bike rides and lots of picnics here. The park is huge and there’s lots to do from playing in the children’s park to playing football and you’ll definitely find an ice cream van during the summer but be mindful queues are so long.

We are so lucky to have this park so close to home but visitors live it too. We were famous at one time for the Arboretum Lights and people would travel miles for the annual event. Sadly no longer available due to council funding however we do have a very pretty, well kept park.
Every Saturday we have parkrun as one event, which is one reason for being my happy place. We have a running club Monday nights and we are Arboretum Runners 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️
But with the lake, grounds and fun park there is lots to do at Walsall Arboretum.
Enjoy if you visit 😊

This I must say is my personal review which contradicts a lot of the other reviewers. I went by car on a sunny February Saturday. Despite using my “sat-nav” I cruised up and down Broadway looking for the car park, which I think because it was a private road wasn’t pleasing my map! I think a good way along Broadway I saw a narrow entrance with a height barrier but this seemed about a mile further on from the pedestrian entrance I had noticed. It seemed a rather random area of open land hardly a photographers paradise! Just up the road is Barr Beacon which is photogenic. So really an unfair review as I could get parked I didn’t go in! There was a “brown” tourist sign just as you turn on to Broadway but after that, as is often the case, no further help sign wise!!

Plenty of work has been completed to make the arboretum a star in Walsall's leisure facilities. However, there are some signs that care and maintenance are declining. Some of the tarmac paths are crumbling and others are waterlogged, leaves haven't been swept from some of the grassed areas and the boardwalks over the lakes are becoming greasy because the moss hasn't been removed from the timber edges. The cafe is great and the washrooms too. Here there are great display of local history and it is a very pleasant place to meet friends. Maintaining a high standard of repair will keep the arboretum in good order. It's a good place to walk with plenty of free parking.
