Our family have particularly enjoyed the Lantern Festival events over the years. Ford Park is the perfect location for the final celebrations.
The car boot sales are perfect for browsing, and friendly conversation. Absorb the family feel of the park. Take a look around the cafe area, where you can park the car. Enjoy something to eat or just a simple cup of tea with a scone. This is a lovely green space in a delightful town.

In the summer I went with my son to play in the grass near the children’s play area and found to my disgust, dogs had been allowed to poo in that part of Ford Park. Owners are supposed to use the opposite patch of grass which is certainly of sufficient size. This was not a one off issue. Yesterday we explored the newly developed additional path that goes to the play area and woodland walk. We went in the new area with nets and wood chip. I let my son have a play and thank goodness was vigilant, as again, dog poo actually on the play area! I find it utterly disgusting that there are some people in Ulverston who are too lazy to keep their dogs on the right side of Ford park or pick up their faeces when the dangers to children are well known. Festival town it may well be, but for me, I often feel it’s a dog s**t town, thanks to these lazy individuals. Pick up after your dog or don’t have one. And how utterly disgusting to allow your dog to poo in a children’s play area which has been built for the benefit of the community by a local charity. You should be ashamed of yourselves! Unfortunately I will not be back due to this recent and past experience. But this is no reflection on the hard work of the staff at Ford Park, just on those who let their dogs poo all over it.

Lovely decor, clean looking.
Isn't many options on menu, and children's menu is on a blackboard by the service hatch.
Staff don't seem to smile much, although the cafe itself is lovely the staff don't seem very welcoming.
I asked for a coke, she said they only have Coke zero, I could see red cans in the fridge though, she said they changed the label, I was very confused but went with it anyway. What arrived was a diet coke so different again.
Anyway.... The food arrived it was lovely, I had eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, it was beautiful and very well presented, the kids had a cheese sandwich between them and that was also lovely and plenty of it.
I would recommend this cafe if having a lovely walk around hoad, great pit stop for a snack and hot drink.

Our daughter and family live in Ulverston, so a trip to Ford Park and the cafe is always on the agenda and always a treat. We stayed last week, and after a walk up Hoad, we had to go into the cafe for coffee, drinks and cake. We were not disappointed. The standard is always very high. I wish it was near to my home.

First visit (why did i leave it so long!) Great place to let kids run & enjoy the playarea, wild walks (learning from the information boards), amazed by the apple trees in the allotment area. The lovely friendly cafe staff provided wonderful food/drinks including an amazing breakfast. Definately highly recommended.

Just on the outskirts of the town, this is big and hilly park. Attracts tons of happy and laughing kids. Very nice

We popped in after walking up to the lighthouse. The sandwiches were amazing x proper doorstep bloomers on either white or granary the ladies that served me at the counter was very polite and professional and in her chefs white on the 11,8,18. The younger staff lady who served us food were flagging poss from working hard over lunch or not caring? But the food was lovely x definitely 4 ✨ could have been 5 thou

This was the venue for a family lunch to celebrate my mum's 90th birthday. We hired the function room upstairs which has access to the lovely roof terrace from which you can look onto Hoad or across Ulverston. We had the hot buffet menu and added some desserts and the food surpassed all expectations. It was incredibly imaginative, well presented and there was so much we took doggie bags home! I would definitely recommend this place for a small party - up to 40 poeple i think could fit into the room fairly comfortably. It might get warm on a hot day but there is a lot of room on the roof terrace. We were well looked after throughout the time we were there and I wish we could do it all again.

After a walk up the Hoad we spent time in the park. My grandson loved the zip wire in the childrens section. He also had plenty of space to play with his drone. A great family area.

We really enjoyed our Burns Night in the cafe at Ford Park. We were a party of eight, the food was terrific, delicious and with a Scottish twist. The staff were attentive and very friendly and made the atmosphere fun and the whole evening very enjoyable.
We loved the Scottish themed quiz and taking part in the address to the haggis.
Thoroughly recommended, we will definitely go again next year and we're looking forward to other events at Ford Park.
