Yet again a hotel room with curtains that need fixing. Don't understand why this basic maintenance is never done. I was in a no smoking room but as an ex smoker it had an aroma of smoking.

Typical Holiday Inn. Did what it says on the tin. Room was comfy, services are good. Parking was tight, but perfectly adequate. Location is excellent for Bolton city centre. Restaurant is expensive but OK. Breakfast was OK.

Came here for a christmas do and it was great. Had a great laugh with my mates and the food was good. There was an amazing atmosphere, cannot complain! The staff were brilliant considering the amount of people.

Spent a couple of nights on business. Room was clean and pleasant but hot. Couldn't work out the air con at all. The food was good and value for money. Staff were pleasant in fact most were friendly. The restaurant lacks atmosphere and walking the food across the reception area is not great thinking on the part of whoever designed it. Would I recommend it's? Yes. I've given it 3 stars as it does what you expect. No silly parking fees either

Firts time here and I was very impressed. The architechture is beautiful and the feature of the curch remain. Its very airey and lots of sitting areas with a decent sized dance floor. I enjoyed the buffet- very tatsy and of course its in the town centre pretty much , so very convenient.

Only a one night stay, but found the hotel very good. Very clean room, great staff who were always very helpful and great food in the restaurant in the evening and at breakfast.

Very handy for the town centre - just a couple of minutes walk. Car parking is free under the hotel and at an adjacent car park. Wifi worked well throughout. Gym and swimming pool on site but didn't check it out.

Would definitely stay again. Thanks for keeping the few smoking rooms - was a deciding factor for choosing this hotel.

What a fantastic night at my crimbo party. Holiday inn had was a fantastic venue and the service was excellent. I would especially like to thank Ben he was an absolute star who showed me and friends to the takeaway and made sure we got into to a taxi as we weren't from Bolton.

It is a nice hotel and looks good inside but the rooms are basic and no different to cheaper hotels in the area. So for the price you pay per room its a little dear and for same price i paid ive stayed in better.. lack of communication at the reception from the night staff and morning staff caused a little problem but sorted it without problem. .

When it comes to cheap, clean accommodation in the heart of Bolton, there’s not place better than the Holiday Inn.

I regularly stay at the hotel because it’s right in the centre of Bolton which is great for the use of the local amenities. The hotel is modern and very welcoming. The bedrooms are very spacious and we’ve never had a problem with cleanliness and the staff are always extremely friendly and helpful. The food they serve is of excellent quality and you’ll be hard pushed to find a better breakfast in the area.

We’ve seen the venue set up for a number of occasions including weddings and fight nights and it always looks amazing!

Mr B and I attended a function in Cloisters. The food was attractive and hot and served quickly and expertly by the staff. It was nice to have hot plates. We were very well looked after. We decided to stay the night and found our room to be comfortable, clean and attractive. The housekeeper was very kind and gave us some extra milk and tea. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was delicious and there was a very good range of hot and cold dishes. (The plates were also hot again- so well done again to the catering staff). We have stayed at this hotel once before about 10 months ago. We were not disappointed on this occasion either. I really love this hotel and the lovely staff. While we were there there a fire alarm went off and the staff were very quick to respond. I was quite impressed. Thank you for a lovely stay. We will see you very soon.

Stayed here last week for one night whilst working in Bolton the hotel is serviceable, and the staff where friendly enough.

Disappointingly the restaurant lets this hotel down with the least inspiring menu I have seen in some time it's almost like they don't want you to eat there and so make it as un-attractive as possible.

I resorted to eating out in a local restaurant who commented that they get a lot of trade from the Holiday Inn for this exact reason.

It seems as shame as many guests like myself would rather eat in house and the hotel is wasting this opportunity.

Quite poor for a 4 star to be honest. Air Con never worked and was unable to get room below 23 degrees. Their solution.... 2 £8.99 fans supplied. Wrong room was supplied from the one I had booked. Room was quite small Bed was on wheels so it moved every time you rolled over. Was more like a 1 star hotel bed to be fair. Thin and cheap. Towels were not replaced despite leaving them in the bath as instructed. Plenty of choice at breakfast but it was all a bit dry and shriveled. Breakfast service was good Poached eggs were cooked to perfection but didnt taste of egg...must be cheap ones. Decided to eat in one evening but gave up after waiting 15 mins in the lobby for a table. Easy to walk into town and had free parking which was a big plus

We attended a wedding reception here. Very well organised beautiful setting. The evening buffet was hot & cold food which was well presented & delicious, Plenty to go round all the guest. The staff were very pleasant & approachable. This venue I have recommended as we had our wedding reception here 6 years ago. I have to say standards were excellent then & still are. Very happy excellent evening was had by all.

Routine stop in this hotel. V tired fittings - desperate for refurb. Poor standard - lets just say the 4 stars seriously need a polish.

They have a large pool so am guessing this is why 4 stars.

No comparison to other 4 star hotels I use.

Room service meal was good enough but starter was missed and so main was cold after I waited another 15 mins for the soup to be sent up. Wasn't happy.

The hotel is very handy for the town centre but due to the bad weather we got taxis. The friendly staff got these for us with a friendly smile. The receptionist had time to tell us more about the town and gave us a useful map. Our rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was well cooked, served hot and fresh with lots of choice. Coffee and toast machines very efficient. Overall excellent value for money and yes we would go there again
