We arrived at the hotel after a long day, we unfortunately had an issue with the room that was allocated to us on arrival. Immediately on making the staff aware, Luke, the Night Manager, took action and reallocated us to an upgraded room without question. We were delighted at the gesture and this approach is what makes Holiday Inn a brand that we always chose to be loyal to. Thank you Luke and the management team at Holiday Inn Bolton. A problem is only an opportunity to deliver better service. Highly recommend.

After over 50years, I have finally found the need to write a review.
While hosting a training session here, I was looked after by 2 young members of staff with ‘old school ‘ professionalism. Never in my experience have I been greeted with such polite, friendly “nothing is too much trouble “ attitudes. I believe their names are Taylor and Andrew. A great venue with a lovely team.....so much so, that I don’t even mind having to go to work there next week.
Keep up the great work

We stayed here on our tour of Emmerdale and the hotel is good value for the price , nice bar area and staff were very helpful , restaurant was quite pricey in comparison to the cost of the room but overall a good place to stay

The hotel could do with a bit of a facelift but it is clean and tidy. The reception area, bar and restaurant are nice and bright but the rooms could do with a lick of paint and upgrading.
All the staff were very helpful and polite especially Amanda and Victoria and that level of service is why people come here.
It's only a short walk into town where there are lots of pubs and restaurants so it's quite nicely located.

close to city centre, easy 15-20 min walk to train/bus station, ample parking beneath hotel but it is a parking eye so ensure you register your car at reception when staying there. My room was clean and tidy the breakfast was good, the evening meal was acceptable but limited

Close to the town centre.

The hotel is ok, cheap bar, breakfast is fine. The rooms are good standard.
If you have to be in Central Bolton, this is probably the place to stay.

As it’s convenient and central, and against what else is on offer locally it tends to get busy, especially with locals.
Car park is too small, the other options are decidedly risky for cars, or even vans overnight.

If your in the area it’s the best you’ll get, but if you’ve got a vehicle or contents you want to protect, you’d do better staying further out. Bolton town centre isn’t really a place you’d want to go out at night anyway.
Your safe enough in the hotel with families, and there’s a good market place close to the hotel to go with reasonable restaurants, and a good kids play place, but Bolton isn’t exactly known for tourism.

I have been coming here for work once a month for around 10 months. I will be sorry not to be coming after September.
This has been a great place to stay.... And I stay at lots of places around the country. The beds are terrific, it's walking distance to the town, train station and The Bolton Hub.
Staff are very friendly, helpful and professional. Nothing is too much trouble. I would like to personally give an extra thank you to Nicole, always smiling and welcoming and with great suggestions for supper. Amanda on reception is a life saver. Jane in housekeeping always makes my room feel special. Breakfast crew is welcoming and efficient. Last month I had the surprise of a room upgrade! Thank you all so very much. You are all a great team and go the extra mile. HOLIDAY INN is fortunate to have you.

Stayed overnight for business purposes. A rather big 4 story building on the edge of the centre of town. large driveway in and underground parking area. Caution as the parking is "managed" by the pirates that are Parking Eye so you MUST enter your registration at the reception area or it will result in the standard leeching requests for hundreds of pounds and your kidneys.

At reception I was attended to by Amanda who was very professional and courteous. I had a couple of questions to which she answered and also gave me info regarding the restaurant and food availability times. All very good.

Hotel reception area was clean light and airy. Bar area modern décor and styling.

I had a room on the 4th floor away from the lifts as requested.

Room comfort level was disappointing in that all furniture was dated circa 1989 and with scratches and marks included. Visible repair marks on the skirting and walls.

Bed and pillows were really soft and freshly presented. Bathroom was big enough and the complimentary toiletries did the trick.

AC was on and working. Lighting wasn't the best. Some room service info and DD phone also in the room together with hairdryer and iron and ironing board. The iron didn't work. Annoying as I needed it to the following morning.

The worst feature of the room - NO ELECTRICAL SOCKETS next to the bed. The sockets which you can see in my photos. The sockets were over the other side of the room and POINTLESS and USELESS for modern adaptors as the cable simply wont fit. You can see from my photos. I ended up breaking my charger trying to jam it into the socket.

Shower in the bathroom was good enough although in the morning it took an age for hot water to materialise.

Breakfast - I was downstairs 630am prompt. Place was very busy with some kind of Chinese coach party. Restaurant manage took what seemed like an age to find me on his list. Annoying. Clock was ticking.

Food selection and quality was good although it would have been helpful if the restaurant manager had explained that you could order poached eggs or anything that was on the table card menu. I have poached eggs, fried were available. All the usual suspects were available from the hotplate. Do it yourself toast station, fresh fruit and yogurts. Coffee was machine born and tea was do it yourself Twinings.

Not sure how the place is rated as a 4 star. The décor and standards of service don't quite meet that so I can only rate it as average/3 star at best.

I would however stay there again if the firm was paying. Probably not out of choice for leisure as I cant actually think why anyone would want to visit Bolton for a "holiday" Other than being the place where Peter Kay comes from and Fred Dibnah, not a lot going on there. But, if the price was right Id vote with my wallet. It is however better than a travel lodge.

Staff were lovely and friendly. Our room was spotlessly clean and we were provided with fresh towels / toiletries every day. The food was delicious - breakfast was more than enough (buffet style) and bar food is available until 11pm. There's a small bar in the reception area. The hotel is located a 2 min walk from the Market Place shopping centre and about a 20 min walk from Bolton train station.

I stayed here for 8 nights. Nice and easy check in with friendly staff. The room was tired and dated but clean. Pretty basic nothing special. On the top floor I had a very small window, a little claustrophobic for me. Originally I had decided to stay here as it was in the center of town and had a pool. It seems like the pool is no longer in operation. The gym is small with few equipments. The bar serves a good selection of food and it's a nice way to sit and relax in a casual setting. They also have a full service restaurant there which was quite popular. While I was there, they had a wedding and a couple more other events. So it could be quite busy at times. I would still stay here as it's very conveniently located in the center of town.

Stayed here for 4 days for work, the rooms were clean and well maintained, reception staff were helpful and polite and the food was good. However the real star in this Hotel is Jackie, the restaurant supervisor, and her staff team. Nothing was too much trouble and she bent over backwards to help in anyway she could, even if it wasn’t part of her job! Jackie and her team made the stay here so much easier and enjoyable. Lovely, lovely lady.

I have stayed here on many occasions with no problems and always does what it says on the tin. Reception staff always make you welcome and rooms are good.

Special mention for Dipak who has been working there for many years and always smiling and goes out of his way to say hello and make you welcome.

Lovely venue and friendly staff.
The wedding breakfast was very tasty soup, chicken stuffed & wrapped in bacon and then warm chocolate cake with ice cream.
The evening buffet was very good too, plenty of choice for everyone.
Stayed overnight, the room was comfortable and quiet not modern but clean.
Only grumble was breakfast I think it was bad timing, the bacon etc was quite dry and eggs like rubber at £14.95 pp we thought it was too dear for what it was.

Good comfortable hotel roght in middle of shopping centre area.
Cracking meeting rooms and staff who welcoming and helpful to all 22 of us.
If I singled one out it would have to be Jackie..manager of the restaurant and for whom my peculiar dietry requirements were not a problem but a challenge which was well catered for.Her staff including Cassandra(sorry Cassy but you should use your full name).
Rooms clean...domestic staff were lovely people. Only problem was I lost a pair of specs despite Jackie and co searching high n low.
Lovely few days of meetings..as Arnie would say (we'll be back!)
