Booked the hotel and was looking forward to my stay, cobwebs in the bathroom, breakfast is average with not a great deal of healthy options. We had to queue for breakfast this morning and that was disappointing

We went for a Sunday, buffet what a disappointment. Really not good value at £14.95 for three courses which initially sounds good but.......The choice of starters was poor with cheap ingredients prawn cocktail no tiny hard shrimps on lettuce a bit of pork pie, pate', tomatoes and feta. All these things just left out not chilled or sat on ice.The same for the deserts cheap poor quality products small dishes left out and not in a chilled area. Lemon mouse tasted like it had been made from a powder. Eton mess fresh cream with a bit fruit and bits of meringue but again warm.
The main course was good with three meats and vegetables to serve yourself.
We were asked three times during eating our meal could our plates be taken, but when we had actually finished we had to ask someone to take them away.
When we told the waitress about the fact that the starters and deserts were not kept chilled and were melting she just said well it's warm! Sorry not acceptable and would not go there again.

The design was very nice, the room was very clean and the bath/shower was very comfortable. Staff was very accommodating (Best was Jay!), Breakfast was good, as was restaurant and pub food. My only complaints would be the smoking area was not clearly defined, there were signs indicating directed to one side of the entrance, but staff insisted it was down below all the way at the bottom of the steps in front of the hotel, which was very inconvenient. Also, the disabled access to the hotel was to the far right side of the building, a small lift that I didn't even know was there (not clearly indicated), which was also inconvenient since my other guest often had trouble walking up the steps. Otherwise, it was a nice place to stay.

Stayed for a wedding. The room was a little dark and a long tortuous hike upstairs and downstairs from reception and other facilities. Everywhere was clean enough and staff were happy and cheerful. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The bar prices are high for the location and also the bar was not as well stocked as I would expect for the level of hotel. I would not take a break here but for a one nighter it was sufficient.

Stayed for one night only and things were fine. Having to go up one lift and down another threw us but it was ok. The room was good and the bathroom especially enjoyable. The breakfast was under par with powdered eggs only as fried didn't seem to be available. The rest of the offerings were mediocre. The staff were very good though.

We held our annual charity ball at The Village, Bury. Rod, Jess and their team were exceptional and the whole experience at the hotel was amazing. We'll be back, and would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Excellent facilities, good food, clean rooms, professional staff. Value for money. Everything as described and everything available. Spacious on site parking and close to motorway for easy access.
Friendly and professional staff in all areas. Warm welcoming greeting by reception both on arrival and on departure. Nice touch was the fan in the room as it was a very warm night.

I can not say a bad word about how much Louise and her team did for myself, husband, family and friends to make our special day magical.

they went above and beyond anything I could ask for from the time we booked our wedding until we left the day after. everything was perfect.

My guests have complimented how lovely the day was how nice the rooms was and the food also.

I would defiantly recommend the village hotel bury to any one.

thank you once again to Louise and her team.

Hotel was full of character. Food was excellent. Rooms were clean and tidy. Professional attitude encountered from all staff. My overall stay left me feeling that this is a place I must recommend to colleagues and friends. Good value, good atmosphere, unfortunately I never got around to using the leisure facilities as I prioritised the England instead :)

Good service and great rooms. Pool great but very busy. Steam room great and Jacuzzi very good. Good location breakfast very over priced as the pub over the road could save you money. I would stay again

What a well managed hotel, everything about it was brilliant.
Great parking, great accommodation, great staff.
The organisation given England were playing was fantastic.
We were attending the Rueben's Charity Ball and the food and evening was first class.

I would return but not happy with some of our stay at the hotel. There was a few things for me that could have been different. House keeping just walking in the room without knocking over all the stay was ok

Big imposing building of a hotel just off the M66 near Bury. Stayed over for an event; staff all very friendly and event well executed. Food was very good given the numbers being catered for.

Room was very hot - no air con but a Dyson fan which unfortunately didn’t have much effect. Appreciate it is however stinking hot at the moment!!

We stayed here for one night, last night and was very pleased with the overall hotel.
Plenty of parking, friendly helpful staff and the room was nice- clean, good shower, large bed and tv and a Tassimo coffee maker.
Only gripe would be the heat- Dyson fan wasn’t that great and we couldn’t open the windows as alarmed and the room was very stuffy but it is exceptionally hot!
Would definitely stay again when in the area.

I appear to have left my reading glasses at the hotel but every number I find with say a cat again during office hours, does not get answered, or has been replaced by another number which does not answer. Also there is no 'contact us" button on their website. Not having the ability to contact reception direct 24 hours a day is not the way to run a large hotel.

We held our Wedding Reception at the Village Hotel in Bury in June 2018. The events staff leading up to the day were absolutely first class. They were helpful, professional and nothing was too much trouble.

On the big day they couldn't do enough for us and our guests.

The venue is excellent with a good use of space both inside and outside areas. The venue dressing was spectacular. The food was great for such a large number and we received plenty of compliments about it.

Bedrooms are clean and sizeable.

The Spa is a great bonus.

If you are looking for a venue then you would not be dissapointed with The Village Bury.

With the UK's unseasonal 30deg temperatures this hotel has some work to do. Travelling on my own is difficult enough but the stairwell to the main reception area is a killer. There is no assistance of any description offered when you arrive, so the cabbie GOD bless him, carried my bags to the top of the stairs for me (tipped him as well). I arrived at reception and had to wait for someone to turn up and book me in, once again no assistance offered just pointed in the direction of the lift. The room was sub-standard, on the first floor (sunny side of the building) and was like an oven when I arrived. There was no air conditioning and two partially open small windows! The bathroom basin had a large crack in it and the bath/shower showed signs of previous repairs.
The staff just seem complacent and disinterested in serving the people who pay their wages.

There were 3 people in the restaurant for dinner (incl myself). I ordered a fillet steak meal with salad - 29 pound. The waitress told me I'd have to wait 20 minutes for the steak to be cooked. The steak was lovely, however the salad consisted of baby spinich out of a bag and a few slices of spring onion. Not real value for money, although the staff were nice.

Went I was leaving, I asked if there was another way down with my bags (not obvious) and the receptionist pointed and said "at the far end of the building" - once again no assistance offered. WON'T BOOK THIS PLACE AGAIN!!

get it together and the good reviews will follow. the difference between good and average is merely good planning producing Good performance not poor planning producing piss poor performance. not all your customers are will to complain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stayed at Christmas and it was a disasterous night due to unruly guests. We were given a complimentary nights stay so as I have a special birthday coming up we used it for that after my party. Some of my friends booked rooms too. A great weekend.

A good hotel in general. Food in the restaurant was good though a little unsubstantial. Room was clean and well presented though slightly grubby around the edges. Room was unbearably hot in this unseasonably warm spell of weather.

Very welcoming hotel, lovely friendly staff. Fast check in, lovely room, love the modern striped bathroom and lovely spa toiletries.
Comfortable bed, slept well until 2am when the fire alarm went off! Fortunately it stopped and we didn’t need to evacuate ( told the next morning that it was “drunken idiots at the wedding”)

Used the swimming pool which was a good size although busy with swimming lessons they do keep 2 lanes free.
Staff on reception in the gym not particularly helpful. Misdirected to the changing rooms and when I went to hand my towel in ( I didn’t see the bin in the changing room) she promptly told me to take it back !! ( young girl obviously not been through a customer service programme- sorry my eyes aren’t as good as yours )

Good service at breakfast but actually the choice wasn’t as good as a Premier Inn breakfast

All staff were friendly and helpful throughout.
Room was clean and tidy.
Food was amazing and great value for money.
