Un hotel muy bueno si piensas hacer algo de deporte. El gym es una pasada y la piscina de 25mts es perfecta.
Eso sí, la wifi es una castaña en la habitación.

Stayed for 6 days over Christmas thanks to the friends and family offer. Normally stay with son but staying at Village better option and less stressful. Good to be able to use pool and leisure facilities which are better than most other hotels.

Just arrived home from a meal and pantomime at the village hotel Bury. Having been before in previous years we always return as it's a good family get together at a fantastic price. However this year was a different company doing the pantomime and was changed from beauty and the beast to Robinson Crusoe. I was slightly concerned as my children and friends children do not really know that story but I had no need to be as it was simpy fantastic from the cast and scenery to the lighting. The food was nice although I like vegatables cooked well and they were not, but everyone has different taste and some people prefer them cooked this way. Overall a fantastic day for £12.95 friendly staff and a brilliant atmosphere - credit to you all, see you next year

We arrived here on Saturday, for the 60's 70's 80's night. After waiting at reception for someone to come attend the desk, we checked in and went to are room as others have said it was quite dark but spacious and clean. We came last year and was looking forward to a good evening. The problem started as soon as we entered the function room which is next to the gym, the room was by far to small for the amount of people in the room, last year we were in the room upstairs this was being used for a wedding. We were cramped onto a table 40 of us, we could hardly move to eat or have a drink comfortably, it was absolutely ridiculous. If you needed to move other people had to stand up to let you out, surely management can see this is a safty issue that needs to be addressed that if there was an emergency people WOULD have problems to get out. We were like sardines and just spoilt the night. Entertainment was very poor, music all night and two young girls dancing, was like watching my two daughter's when they use to make up dances. Can't fault breakfast or staff. But sorry our last time and please do not send me a message if I am not happy please phone you, on your premium rate phone number.

So lets not be to down about this, its a village hotel. They do what they say, they've a gym a restaurant and a bar and are generally a good stay especially if you're on business. Everyone is always polite in my experiences and the rooms are well, clean enough and it's all still practical even if its starting to be on the expensive side for what it really is these days. It's very rare that I have a bad stay but there again not really an excellent one either. it just does the job, but is starting to verge on budget even if the price isn't.

We were looking for a short break and some shopping combined with picking stepson up from uni. I chose this hotel as it accepts tesco clubcard vouchers, has good leisure facilities and was the closest I could find on route to Lancaster university. I expected good things in view of the De Vere brand.

We received a very friendly welcome and check in was very efficient. The room was adequate however, the decor was very dark and a little depressing. I'd completely forgotten about the likelihood of Christmas parties in the hotel so rather than a quiet peaceful time it was rather busy. Our room was on the side away from the parties however, we could still hear the boom boom of the music which kept my partner awake until 1am. We mentioned this the following morning and were immediately offered a room in the annex. We transferred our belongings and felt confident of a good nights sleep. This room was much bigger with a sofa, large bathroom, view of the river and much lighter decoration. Very pleasant.

We decided to go into Bury for shopping just a couple of minutes away, rather than Manchester 30 mins by metro. All the normal shops available and very pleasant. We returned early to watch the football on the large screen tv in the hotel.

I had an excellent nights sleep, unfortunately my partner was woken in the early hours by party goers standing outside our room discussing the merits of using the fire escape. He was woken again later on by police helicopters hovering overhead and then again by more party goers returning at 5.30am.

Breakfast was disappointing and the food a poor quality. I enjoyed the fruit salad and the scrambled eggs however, the rest was mediocre. No muesli, croissants were stale. I drink green tea however, they didn't have any left so was offered peppermint instead. They still didn't have green tea on morning 2.

We will not stay here again even without the Christmas parties. Wouldn't recommend it either as it's not value for money.

I stayed at the Village in Bury on the 13th December as we were having out work's Xmas party there. Check in was quick and the staff on the front desk were helpful and friendly so I was impressed until I got to the room. I was sharing with a colleague from the office so we decided to get a family room with a sofa bed but when I got up to the room there was a note on the sofa bed saying that it was broken. Annoyed I still tried to put the sofa bed up but failed and as I had already unpacked I decided it would be easier to just share the double bed. The room itself was larger than expected and had modern fixtures. It was clean but not spotless as I noticed a lot of the fixtures were pretty dusty. I wasn't going round looking for dust I need to point out, I just happened to notice as I was unpacking. The bathroom was clean but the water pressure on the shower was almost non existent. In the morning I went downstairs for breakfast and the food was nice enough and had a decent selection but the glass for my juice was chipped. Overall I wasn't impressed with this hotel and wouldn't stay here again by choice. I know Village hotels are a budget chain and I don't expect them to be in the same class as Hiltons but there were just a lot of things that could have been a lot better for the money I paid.

Having previously spent quite a few nights at this hotel I was quite disappointed upon my rerun after 3 years.

My colleague booked an upper deck room 3 days before me however when we checked in she was told there were non available, yet I was placed in one.

The restaurant menu has got smaller and the selection not very good. I asked to not be placed above the bar as from experience you can hear everything and true to form when the staff were clearing up in the early hours of the morning, I could hear them dragging the chairs across the floor.

The only improvement that I could see was the inclusion of Starbucks in reception and my room

I've stayed here a few times both upper deck and standard rooms and this was the worst stay I have experienced. On Check in there was no one on the desk when the receptionist appeared there was no friendliness all matter of fact and they didn't even advise or apologise for the pool being out of action there was just a notice at the end of reception desk. The room was ok but not great and the back of the fridge filthy covered in dust. I tried to get a drink at 11.55 and was batted between the pub and reception and even then no one seemed happy. Breakfast was awful I think it started at 7 and the food looked like it had been there since them I went down around 8,30 had to ask 3 times to get coffee that came in a teapot. On departure no checking if the stay had been ok nothing very clinical and for me probably the last time I would stay there.

I stayed here for a 1 night stay in Upper deck. The rooms are modern with a comfortable bed. With plenty of pillows. Sky movies is a nice touch and I enjoyed watching Argo before bed. It's just a shame the Starbucks coffee is just instant. A nice bean to cup machine would be a nicer touch.

Reception clerks were friendly and the hotel had a nice buzz - mainly due to the gym and attached pub.

The Italian restaurant was lovely for a romantic meal - I was alone, but still felt very welcome. Lovely food with some of the best authentic garlic bread I have tasted.

Overall a pleasant stay.

Stayed Saturday night. A very comfortable stay. Breakfast was good & lots of choice. We enjoyed using the excellent leisure facilities. Cant say if it was good value because stay was given to as a gift.

We stayed at the hotel for a Friday night. The reception staff were really efficient. The room we stayed on was a little bit tired and the towels looked like they should have been thrown out a few years ago. However, the breakfast was great and to be honest we got such a good deal on the room I cannot complain. Great leisure facilities.

We arrived to a warm welcome by the friendly receptionist, who quickly explained everything we needed to know and asked if we had any requests etc, check in was very speedy - no problems at all. We had booked an upper deck room and were allocated room 304, room was spacious and clean and furnishing modern and comfortable, the only thing I didn't like was the shower - hard to work out how to turn it on ( maybe I'm just too used to pressing a button) and when I did get it working I found I couldn't get a decent temperature - other than this there were no complaints with the room. Did hear a bit of noise from other guests in the corridors at night but it's nowhere near as bad as I had expected from reading other reviews. The victory pub was great, really good atmosphere, food great and drinks a bit pricey but probably in line with manchester city centre prices. Did pay for b&b but unfortunately didn't get to try breakfast as they queue was ridiculously long and I really didn't have the time to wait - was a bit annoying, however, on the whole this was a good experience and I would return in the future.

I went to Manchester on a historical journey to my birthplace with my 8yo as left in the 60s and not been on holiday in Longsight since 1983. As my daughter likes swimming, I chose Village Urban in Bury with a resort as i felt the need to reflect, relax after my discoveries. The hotel has great bus link to the Manchester City Centre (bus 163 - 1 hour journey) and Bury - access Tram & other buses. I requested a quiet side of the hotel after the reviews said some places were noisy and I was not disappointed although it took us long to trace on arrival - a phone call to reception resolved this. Man. City played Norwich but it was not too bad. Could see the river from bedrom window. Breakfast was fabulous (now paying the price for an expanded waist line), thanks to Isabella for the lovely chocolate drinks and staff asking us during breakfast if we were alright. Patricia gave a personal touch by introducing herself at breakfast on Day 2 and letting us know her role (front desk). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay...Jacuzzi, Sauna and Steam Room. Staff were prompt and courteous. The housekeeper reminded us to close our door as left slightly ajar. Would have been useful if staff informed us we had access to the gym facilities and classes but oh well, this did not spoil it for me, will return home again if time permits. Been flogging the resort to friends in London. Perhaps a kids club will help families apart from the swimming.

If interested in using buses, try to buy the weekly bus pass for £ 13.00 - check covers all bus companies (stagecoach and first western??? i think). Try the Travel shop at Bury...transport can be cheaper if researched ahead of time.

Met great people in the resort and on our first day in Manchester - with a gentleman taking me all the way to North Manchester Hospital (formerly Crumpsall), still excited about my various discoveries.

Shop Assistants and Some Bus Drivers outside the resort are not very patient with visitors or shall I say tourists.

Will do this again though.

Having read previous reviews we were abit worried about the customer service we might receive but have to say everyone was very polite and friendly. The food was good in the restaurant but very pricey. We are a family of 4 and stayed 3 nights and our only problem was being woken up several times during the night by noisy guests running up and down the corridors, knocking on random doors including us, then running away, shouting laughing and talking. This happened every night from about midnight to about 3.30am. We did mention it to reception and was told these people had been asked to leave but the next night it happened again. Im guessing they cater for a lot of parties. Because of this we wont be staying again.

The village Bury has a lovely pool and gym area. The restaurant serves good quality, slightly pricey food. However, the pub grub is exactly that and I wouldn't eat in there again. Have stayed here on several occasions for party nights and leisure breaks. Rooms are always clean and make for a comfortable nights sleep. The price for the location is what lets the village Bury down.

I visited this hotel a couple of weeks back for the first time and wasn't impressed with some of the service I received. I enjoyed the leisure facilities and the staff seemed pleasant enough. I had to move rooms which was stressful, but the reception staff were extremely helpful and eventually the problem did get solved. The food in the pub was excellent, although a bit overly priced in my opinion, over £10 for a burger seems a bit steep! I was greeted by some friendly ladies on the bar who pointed me in the right direction to collect a menu and find a table, and then went on to order my food and beverages at the bar. After ordering and waiting a while for my food, I went to look for someone to make sure there was no problems with my food order. There was no one around other than the girls on the bar that were busy serving, so I then went to find someone. When I did so, I found a girl with bleach blonde hair, leant against the side on her mobile phone. It took her at least 20 seconds to notice I was standing there, and after asking her whether my food was on its way she tutted and muttered something under her breathe before storming through a door into the back area of the pub. The same girl eventually brought my food to my table and without any explanation of the waiting time slammed it down in front of me and didn't say a word. Overall it is a decent hotel and my room was very comfy and even had sky tv which I was impressed about. Just a shame about certain staff, because otherwise this hotel definitely would have had a higher rating than I have had to give!

18 of us stayed here for a hen night package that included a 25 min treatment , dinner, breakfast , glass of fizz and entry into seventies night.
The staff were excellent and couldn't do enough. Spa area nice although lots of kids in
Pool!
Treatments great although the pedicure was really just a file and polish. Rooms lovely modern clean and big. Doubles were made into twins at our request. Breakfast great. Omelettes were made for veggies on request.
Great value - would definitely stay again.

I have stayed at this hotel and found it lovely but is then visited again on another occasion with my friend and little boy, we wasn't staying the night but thought we would come for tea at the pub. I was very disappointed with the customer service, it was busy at the time but no one came to clean our table we had to wipe it of ourselves. When trying to find a child's menu which wasn't already on the table we looked around for a staff member to help us but there was no one around and when there was staff about no one came to check if we was ok. When we got the food the child's food was far to hot, I understand it has to be a certain temp before it's sent out but this was too hot and so was the plate for a child the guy that brought it to me never mentioned this so it's a good job it was me that touched it first and not my little lad. The burgers we had where nice but I wouldn't say they was worth what you charge for them. The coke was flat and in my opinion tasted watered down and the choice of kids drink where very limited! Sadly I don't think I'll be visiting the pub again.
