I've ordered lots of takeaways from here as they do amazing food - and possibly the largest (and best) vegan menu I have seen! Very impressive considering it't not an exclusive vegan restaurant, and I have lots of choices and they're all super tasty! Went in for the first time this week and the staff were all super kind and helpful, especially the young lady (who I assume is a manger?😄). Either way, she went above and beyond and is great with customers! Definitely recommend! 💓

The Alex is a phenomenon since it has been taken over by the Crown. We're always made to feel welcome and part of the family. Most of the attention is directed at the dog (Nymph) though.

A fabulous pub with a great atmosphere always. The staff are so friendly and efficient, and the food is immense with the most accommodating menu in town! Thanks Ollie and team for a fabulous Christmas meal last night!

Fabulous Christmas staff outing for 11 of us. Really good food, excellent service and a warm welcome. Nice touch having Christmas crackers which benefitted The Trussell Trust. Highly recommended.

Since the new owners have taken over earlier in the year it has become a great pub. Good food and a lovely atmosphere. Also caters well to vegans (not that I am).

I have eaten at the Alexandra Arms several times now, never disappointed always very tasty and enjoyable, love the Voignier wine too.

You may have seen my previous review which was about a breakfast that we had been very disappointed with. Following this review, Heidi the owner of the Crown and Anchor contacted me. Her customer care could not have been more professional. Clearly this was an unacceptable experience and she wanted to do all she could to put things right.
Well I can confirm that we rebooked and have had the most wonderful complementary meal today. All of the food was amazing (rack of ribs), staff excellent in every way. I can honestly say that other companies could learn an awful lot from this ladies customer service. Thank you Heidi we will continue to recommend The Crown and Anchor to family and friends.
