We stayed a Friday and Saturday night in Eastbourne, we didn't book for the Friday and were told there was no room so we booked for the Saturday. So glad we did as it was a delicious meal. The business is family run, an extensive menu of Italian favourites all at a reasonable price. We would definitely visit again if in Eastbourne. Highly recommend the tiramisu!

Came with friends for luch. Charming waiter and waitress. Ordered Lunch menu (2 courses for £9.95).I had Malafemmena pizza - straight from the oven in front of us- authentic with spicey sausage. Tiramisu was delicious. Waiter reccomended a super Puglia wine. We all agreed that we must come again next year (annual bowls trip).

Service was fast and friendly. Price was excellent. The food gorgeous. I would recommend that you book this restaurant as when we were there it was full for the evening.

We will go back and give lunch time a go!

This is as good an Italian Restaurant as we have been to...and that's a few. Not markedly different but sufficiently so to make our evening one we'll remember. The menu has all you would expect but with accents and items we've had in Italy but never in the UK.
My wife's Bruschetta smothered with rich, firm diced tomato and my board of Italien Cheeses plentiful with honey and home made pesto were both georgeous. All served in typical friendly style.
Whilst there is a range of Pasta and Secondi on the menu we understood their pizzas to be special. And so they are. Light, succulent dough supporting full flavoured toppings. My half Calzoni, half Pizza new to me was just something else.It seemes plenty of their guests were local which is a testament to the recognised quality of this restaurant.
Thank you Lia and your colleagues for your warm welcome, great food and evening.

I visited this restaurant 2 years ago at the old premises, and have looked forward to returning for a long time. I love the look of the new place, the food and service (and prosecco) were still as fantastic as our first visit and I was surprised to be remembered by the lovely Leila...see you next August!

We had heard good things about this restaurant and so three of us went for dinner last night and it was great. Both food and service could not have been better. We ordered a mix of starters to share and the zucchini friti was the best ever as the manager offered to dress it for us which made it much better than any we'd tried before. The waiter was even happy to arrange an off menu pasta dish for my son and the bolognese was truly delicious. After we had placed our order we decided to add on some garlic bread and we watched while it was made right next to us and put into the flaming pizza oven and served piping hot minutes later. Really couldn't fault the whole experience and we look forward to returning soon.

We were a party of 10 visiting Eastbourne for the Air Display and found this little gem of a restaurant very close to the sea front. Owners were naturally friendly and helpful. The food was real Italian of excellent quality and presented beautifully. Overall a lovely place to visit. Treat yourself!

We were a family party of 12 attending the Air Show, we pre-booked our starter & main course and were greeted by Leila who was a most charming hostess, the food was lovely which we all enjoyed - we can all be a bit on the fussy side but we would all go back again to this restaurant.

Very good staff and good food make this a restaurant that is well worth a visit. Reasonably priced in a central location, but suggest you book as can get very busy at times

Four of us went to dine at Anema e Core before going to the theatre. There was one meat eater, two fish eaters and one vegetarian. We all had a delicious taste of Italian cooking. In fact we went on tour in Italy last year and nothing we experienced there was as tasty as Anema. The only one criticism is that I had the the Ravioli alla Zucca Pumpkin Ravioli in a sage and butter sauce absolutey delicious but there just wasn't enough of it. A couple more squares would have made the experience perfect.
Definately recommend this restaurant

I can't rate this restaurant highly enough. The staff were so friendly and the food was excellent. It was a family run business just starting out and what an amazing job they are doing. They make their customers feel special and we had such an enjoyable evening here. Would definitely come again when we come to Eastbourne. I cannot fault the restaurant and wish them well.

Despite only calling in for a lunchtime snack the charming staff went the whole mile.
Delightful squash soup with a drizzle of olive oil, coming accompanied by several slices of perfectly toasted bruschetta, and garnished with basil leaves.I even got a bowl of freshly grated parmesan.
Having declined anything to drink I was still brought a glass of water, with ice and lemon. Appreciated, and a great experience.

I visited the restaurant with my wife and we had a lovely evening. The family owned place felt welcoming and pleasant. We tried the calamari fritti and Bruschetta as starters and then a home made pasta with seafood and the Spaghetti Bolognese with it's more than eight hours slow cooked meat. Really great dishes, simple but very well done.
The service and attention is great and overall the feel was really nice. Price/quality-experience is very good. It was really nice to feel the passion and caring of the staff.

We have used the restaurant a few times now since they opened. We love the place. It is a family run business and all the staff are keen to please. If you have a huge appetite I'm sure they could fill you. Their calzone is my favourite so I've never had room for pudding. We would recommend it to anyone either local or visiting on holiday.

We ate here on a weekend evening and it quickly became clear that everything positive written about this small, friendly restaurant is absolutely true. Despite 'only' ordering starters/pizzas we found the food artfully prepared and light years away from the normal chain-restaurant experience. We were told many ingredients are imported direct from Italy, and it shows. The mozzarella was unlike anything we'd ever tasted before. Equally important to our experience were the charming young staff, who patiently allowed us to try out our cod Italian on them. An utterly delightful evening. Highly recommended !

Our first visit on a cool English summer's evening, lured in to find out if what we had heard was true. . . . What a surprise, a real Italian in Eastbourne. We were tired of the "XYZ-pizza" places selling increasingly uniform American food, and wanted to eat as we have so often in Italy.
Well this is proudly, and firmly Italian, from the wine list, to the pizza oven, from the explanation of how "verre" pizza is made Neapolitan-style, to the layout of the menu. We were delighted. Service, gentle but attentive. Wine, good and very good value, and cuisine really very good indeed. Not fine dining, but well made wholesome Italian food served in a warm, friendly ambience. This was the first visit of many - we loved it and so will you !

We were staying in Eastbourne overnight and so we booked this restaurant a couple of days beforehand online. I based my choice on the reviews of trip advisor and we were definitely glad we booked.
The staff were very welcoming from the moment we walked through the door and our coats were taken and hung up and we were shown to our table. The menus arrived with a leaflet explaining the origins of their authentic Italian pizzas. We asked for advise on the wine and instead of suggesting the more expensive bottle which we were considering we were advised based on our tastes to choose a slightly cheaper one but were able to try before we bought the bottle. We started with the Italian mozzarella melon and Parma ham. The mozarella is amazing and nothing like the supermarket ones. It was all presented beautifully on a wooden board.
We then each had a pizza which you could see being cooked in a big pizza oven in the middle of the restaurant. I had a cheese one with Gorgonzola and my husband had a spicy salami one. The bases in themselves were incredible and true to Italian recipe. I managed to eat nearly all mine and the only reason I couldn't finish was that I wanted to eat the base too!!! The total bill for the two of us with starters olives, 2 pizzas and a gorgeous bottle of wine was only £52 so incredible value for money too.
When we left the lady got our coats shook my husbands hand and gave me two kisses Italian style and some traditional Italian sweets to take away. I wish we lived closer to this lovely restaurant as I would go every week.
If you are in Eastbourne don't look anywhere else go here. Thank you so much for a very memorable evening Anema e core

Booked a table for four at 8.15 we turned up to a very warm friendly welcome. Showed to our table. The tables are spacious . Not cramped as some places are. Wide choice of drinks and very extensive menu. The staff are very knowledgeable and happy to help. And suggest to suite your tastes.
Having ordered the food was very well presented and prompt. Very authentic and tasty. Your not rushed and it's a very relaxed dining experience. A family run restaurant with a genuine Italian Chef.( The Dad). Probably one of the best. Italian restaurants for miles. Will be going back without a delt.

After having read the reviews on tripadvisor I thought that this would be a great place to celebrate a 20th anniversary. We booked a table well in advance but the time I had requested was written down incorrectly. Fortunately they still had tables available.
We shared a few starters and they were nice but unspectacular. Among the starters was a selection of Italian cheeses with two different dips, and an assortment of prawns, whitebait and squid which we thought was ok but not a lot considering the price. For mains we each had our own but my friends seemed to be unimpressed with what they ate, apart from the pizza. I ordered a veal escalope with gorgonzola fondue and mixed vegetables. I found it was pretty good, if a bit bland.
Over all it was a bit disappointing but I have a feeling that it was partly because the reviews made it seem like the food would be spectacular.
I will come again at some point to try some other dishes but with my expectations adjusted accordingly.

We were on holidays looking for a confortable and friendly place where to spend a nice evening. We found this nice restaurant. Pino and Lia hosted us with all attentions and we tasted a special Italian pizza and 2 delicious cakes. We advise all Italian Lovers to visit Anima&Core, you'll discover a real Italian ambient and you can listen speaking this fantastic language as they speak Italian (and English) with all hosts.
