Away training for work and a meal with friends new and old. The restaurant was booked by a friend.simpmy great choice. A feeling of true Italian food as soon as I looked at the menu. I love Italian food but I hate it done badly. This was good great arancino with different flavours. Simple Italian sausage and wild mushroom gnocchi was a good sized portion and really tasty. Friends had varying choices and the appearance of the obligatory Tiramisu. None of us had Pizza but on seeing them pass our table I have chosen my choice for the return. Decent Pizza oven always gives a head start to doing them well. Lunch has fixed course menus. All in all £125 for 5 with a decent bottle of house red. It's a bit of a tardis but still keeps an almost cosy feel. Terrace as well if all fresco is your choice. I will return ✔️

Great food and fantastic service. Good pricing towards the dishes. We had a table outside and sat in the sun the. Family owned business direct from the south of Italy. Authentic as you like it!

This is the second time that we eat here, the first time was about 2 years ago in their previous location.
Already then the pizza was a must and now 2 years later we had a weekend break with our little one just two months old in this new location, just right in the city center, close to shops but not in a busy road. After months (last time was in Italy) we had a burrata as a starter, it was just delicious... We ate outside spritz, burrata, pizza and nice weather we could not ask for more.
Thank you guys for bringing Italy closer to us!!

I was staying in Eastbourne and went to this restaurant because TripAdvisor said it is the best Italian in Eastbourne
If it is I feel sorry for the Eastbourne residents It's ok
Pleasant staffNice premises
Goodish foodMost of the other customers seemed to be of the pizza and glass of wine variety and for that it is fine
I sat down expecting an Italian feast and it just never happened No specials
No risottos £100 for two courses, a bottle of average wine and 3 drinks not really a bargain on a midweek night
Especially when I had two pasta dishesThe pasta was good but the sauces were soup like
A pet hate of mine is when the waiting staff start cleaning up (sweeping in this case) so they get get away early (it was only 21 15hrs)It's worse when the person serves the next course and then returns to the broom
Still had a reasonable night though however if I did live in Eastbourne I wouldn't go again

I came here with my elderly mother, sister and niece for lunch. As the weather was beautifully warm and sunny, we were able to sit outside in a very attractive courtyard. The restaurant is run by an Italian family and the staff were very friendly, creating a relaxed atmosphere. We took advantage of the very reasonably priced lunch offer. I had bruschetta for starters and Italian sausage with salad for my main which was delicious.
It honestly felt like we could have been in a little part of Italy, as the food is very authentic, we were eating al fresco and the wine was flowing!
If you like Italian food please visit Anema e Core. I will most definitely be going back!

The menu is extensive and authentically Italian, with a very impressive wine list. The rear garden is a great place to eat on a summer's day and you can see that the herbs used in the dishes are grown on the premises. The veal with gorgonzola sauce was delicious. The staff were delightful, helpful and attentive without being obtrusive. I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant for couples and families alike - there is pasta and pizzas (from a genuine pizza oven) for those who are less adventurous.

We have visited twice before, but the welcome was warm, genuine and totally overwhelming. It really is like stepping into a restaurant in Rome, or Cassino.
The food is absolutely beautiful, well prepared, well cooked, and impeccably served. If you want a real Italian experience near home, this is where to eat!

A very enjoyable experience with excellent food, attentive staff and a nice atmosphere. The Calzone was particularly excellent as was the garlic bread. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Probably the most authentic Italian dining experience I have had outside of Italy itself. Highly recommended.

Very positively surprised - really, really good Italian, probably some of the best I've ever had. While the atmosphere in the restaurant doesn't quite signal "fine dining", the quality of the food really does - we started with some garlic bread, which was really nice, and light, and then we had some of the best pizza, I've ever had for our mains - very light, mouthwatering dough, and very tasty indeed.
The wine list is fairly excessive, though their range of good Italian wines at a reasonable range, could be looked at, but the overall value for money was certainly there.
Very good service, Tony was extremely accommodating, and even suggested their children's size pizza would suffice, as we were feeling quite ful after the starters.

A group of four of us ate here early on a Friday evening. We were in a slight hurry since we had an appointment at 7:30. The staff could not have been friendlier or more charming and the food was fantastic. I was the only vegetarian in our party and was gratified to see my friends looking at my antipasto with undisguised envy!

We've had a wonderful supper here tonight. So much in the menu looks interesting it's a challenge not to enthusiastically over-order
The pizza is amazing, the Real Neapolitan Thing and the Child lapped that up after some garlic bread. The Arancino was a big ball of flavour & the Wild Boar ravioli was just delicious. We were defeated after that so cantucci dunked in vin santo rounded off my evening before we strolled back to the Grand
Lovely place, lovely lovely people and lovely food. Great night, thanks

Absolutely love this restaurant... You can either go there for their fabulous pizza's which I love or you can have an Italian fine dinning experience. The staff are so helpful and in my opinion has taken over from other Italian restaurants in the area..

Second visit to this restaurant and very impressed again. Lovely warm welcome from the staff. Service throughout cannot be faulted. This is authentic home made Italian Food and the pricing is realistic, not overpriced like so many chain ' Italian ' restaurants.

We ate here having attended the tennis and the place was heaving! The service was still quick and attentive with a friendly welcome.
Both pasta dishes we had were excellent full of flavour and the desserts were equally good. The house red wine was especially good.

I ate lunch here today with a friend. I chose from the two course set menu at £9.95 and had an excellent pizza followed by a piece of chocolate and almond cake with cream. The staff were extremely friendly and we were both made to feel very welcome. If I am in Eastbourne again I won't hesitate to eat here.
Recommended.

This has to be my favourite restaurant in Eastbourne. It's a real family run affair with a high standard of service, while the staff remain so friendly and warm. Tonight I had the seafood pasta which was superb. One of the friends with me said that should never had such a great pizza.

My partner brought me here last night to celebrate my 30th birthday. What an incredible evening it was!!! Just walking into the restaurant, I felt as though I'd been transported straight to Italy, with all the gorgeous colours and friendly atmosphere.
The waiters and waitresses were second to none. Their attentiveness made me feel like the most special person in the world at that very second and they were very kind in allowing me to practise my fading language skills.
The drinks arrived and they were incredible - just peach juice and a beer, but it looked like a cocktail and the most suave beer available! I personally hate beer, bit even I enjoyed a sip of the Italian craft beer as it had such delicious tones to it.
We had olives to start, and then steak and seafood pasta for our mains. We hardly had to wait any time at all and the taste, along with the presentation was exquisite. Everything is so fresh and kudos to the incredible chef and his wonderful daughter who explained about the way steak can be eaten out in the Mother Land.
I couldn't have asked for a more perfect evening. I look forward to heading there again in the future and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone!

We loved our lunch al fresco at Anema e Core. The pizzas were simply amazing, made with fresh ingredients and full of flavours. I'd recommend it, especially the one with buffalo mozzarella. There was a good choice of food and the staff was very friendly. It's a big restaurant with many tables inside and two patios to eat outside. We paid a reasonable price and we're happy with the experience. We'll definitely come back next time we visit Eastbourne.

We'd been meaning to eat here for some time but haven't for one reason or another. This visit to Eastbourne I finally booked a table. It didn't disappoint. Food and service was great. Nothing too much trouble.
