Love this hotel - staff are very happy and accommodating - have stayed in a few hotels in eastbourne but this by far my favourite - great location easy reach of all shop and always clean and tidy beach just across the road

Perfect base for a 2 night trip to Eastbourne. You can't ask for a better location.
We paid extra for a superior room with a sea view and it was money well spent..
The hotel is not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but it is over 150 years old so creaky floor boards are a given.
If you want luxury, choose one of the more expensive hotels but if you want a reasonable basic hotel with cheerful attentive staff you won't go wrong here.

Arrived for our Mid Week Break through Sherings self drive plus 2 free drinks per night. First impressions was good, was able to book in at 2.30, paid £6 daily for car park. Room 220 second floor, was told no room cleaning service, Covid still in force, but can get anything you require from reception. Room very nice looks like it has been newly decorated and bathroom revamped shower and water nice and hot, but tail rail did not heat up, carpet not changed. Breakfast was very good everything you would want from a buffet, dinner was ok nothing to right home about but you got 3 choices at night and all eatable. Entertainment every night of our stay with a different singer each night and all very good, just a shame only about 30 people in ballroom each night, but we made the most of it. Only downside of our holiday on our last night the room above us decided to stay up to gone 3am in the morning making noise so did not get much sleep, did report it in the morning but was going home so I suppose nothing got done about it. But overall for the money we paid it was a cheap break, and you get what you pay for.

Can't fault staff. Rooms clean and spacious
We had a sea view room with nice views overlooking the pier.

Breakfast was as good as you would get anywhere.
Bacon sausage egg hash brown beans mushrooms tomatoes cereals fruit cakes tea coffee. Was very tasty.

As we only had four evenings we tended to eat out in tge evening.

Would return

Staying in this hotel for 2 days. Convenient for seafront shops and bars and parking for £6 day. Hotel quite dated but very clean, had to change rooms as the first one was shadowed by brick walls and a rusty fire escape and was very dark and gloomy, so paid rfor Seaview room
Breakfast was good. Would stay here again.

Nice Hotel, welcoming staff.
Its situated in a lovely location, just opposite the pier, and close to the shops and restaurants.
We were on the third floor, The room was lovely and clean and smelt fresh, bed was comfortable, bathroom was nice, shower worked ok, pressure was low though.
Room was very warm , even though there was no heating on in the room at all and we had to open the lovely original sash windows as wide as possible but it didn't cool it down , and we had to have them open all night too so it was very noisy outside, but that doesn't take away how nice the hotel was!
