Just had a 5 day break at The Burlington. Room spacious and clean with a seaview. Our room had kettle and coffee machine, good hairdryer, iron/ironing board. Towels lovely clean and very white. Due to covid you had to let reception know with regard to Clean towels. Coffee and te replenished on request. Staff in both bar and dinning room worked hard and we're helpful to us. Manager worked hard. The guy on reception helpful. We didn't know what to expect but felt service good especially under current circumstances. Parking you can book and pay in their carpark if space. Would go back. Restaurants very good they love an Italian but the so do we. Giannas round corner best pizza ever. Morgans great too. Rosette not great.

The most accommodating and friendly staff. The service was 5 star, from receptionist right through to all the restaurant staff. Right on the beach front with stunning views . The food was excellent and very generous portions.

It's an old Victorian hotel don't expect 5star expect Victorian but it's a nice hotel it's clean we were in room 405 and it was like an oven we were sweating all night and the mattress protector made it worse, however we live in covid times so I understand the need breakfast was ok staff were fantastic and can't do enough to help you had a beer or 2 in the bar not bad prices night entertainment was ok bit of magic and a quiz (we won 14/21) was happy with that so give the burlington hotel a go you won't be disappointed..

We have used the Burlington on a self-drive basis many times over the years as we found it perfectly acceptable at the price. Now at last it is undergoing rapid refurbishment and redecoration under new management. We certainly had no complaints whatsoever during our four days. The quality of the food and the presentation of it is far superior to what is was in 2019. Staffing is naturally proving to be a bit of a problem under current circumstances but the young people especially were doing their best as they progressed along their early learning curve.

Just leaving the hotel after a 5 day stay, very nice hotel and the staff were friendly and helpful, the food was good and plenty of it ,staff were very efficient and service swift in the restaurant and bar areas, reception staff were helpful in any requests, house keeping wasn't allowed due to covid but anything you needed was dealt with at reception, yes the hotel needs updating in places but we had a lovely time and would return

The room we were allocated (111) was in a disgusting state with rotten windows and needed a complete refurbishment. The only way to get air in the room was to prop up a sash eindow with a piece of wood (supplied). After complaining to reception we were allocated another room (114) the following day which means we paid for a night in a hovel. The room should never have been given to us.
The whole place is being decorated as it is in a very sad condition. The location is excellent although a long way from the Marina which is a must visit.
Holiday spoilt by the original room.
Breakfast ok but disorganised.

Just come back from a five night break at the Burlington Hotel. Hotel is in a good location opposite the pier, a short walk from some excellent restaurants and with a great view of the sea. Breakfasts are good and the staff are really helpful. We stayed in room 119 which was spotless, had a sea view and was very spacious. I cannot see why people give this hotel such bad reviews as it is excellent for how much they charge.

Our room was 229 at the back of the hotel with the fire escape outside the window so not a great view. It was clean when we arrived the bed was comfy but because of covid not serviced during our stay.
The bar staff were very good especially Kaitlin she deserves a special mention as she always remembered our favorite drinks.
The restaurant was a very different story! the first night we waited half an hour for someone to take our order, then to be told we had the wrong menu so had to start again, we waited another half hour for our starter to arrive decided there was nothing on the mains that we could eat as the lemon sole that we had chosen was now scallops! Things did improve slightly during the rest of our stay but still not good.
The lounges were not really fit for lounging as there were only 2 small sofas and six armchairs the rest were upright dining type or bar stools so not somewhere you could feel relaxed.
The hotel is in a great location and we spent most of our time on the beach, there is a very nice beach bar and cafe just down the steps right opposite the hotel. Overall we did enjoy our stay as it was just good to get away from home for a bit and we were lucky with the weather.

The best thing about this hotel was it`s position ,near to everything, and the bedroom overlooking the sea. The staff were hopeless. Bar staff didn`t have a clue on glasses or mixes, and my husband had to advise them. Their was no table service as advertised.
We only had breakfast once out of the 4 days we had paid for as it was cold. Took 40 minutes to arrive, and the toast was only brown on the tips.
The lift was antiquated with filthy carpet on the walls, and flaking paint. At reception where we were told we could not book in till 3pm we waited till 4.30 before we got into our room. Not good enough when most hotels the world over are 2pm. We did have very good entertainment on two nights, but the poor entertainers had no advertising at all. The singer who had sung as a lead singer of a London show had approximately 8 people watching him. It was a crying shame.

Just stayed at this hotel and had a lovely break, we was in a seaview deluxe room, well worth the extra you had to pay for this, as very spacious room, lovely views and great walk in shower!! We had breakfast and evening meal and was very very good, breakfast a little chaotic as very limited staff so had to wait quite a while for breakfast, staff very very pleasant, the only thing letting the hotel down was the common parts decor!!! Very very old and shabby, and everywhere looked in need of a good hoover, lift should be completely overhauled as in a terrible state!!! But all in all a lovely stay!!

Hotel has perfect location, reasonable prices, nice friendly staff in a bar and restaurant (especially lovely lady Tracy).
Definitely needs renovation: old dirty windows, carpets, leaking gutters, no air conditioners, dated.

The Burlington Hotel
We had arrange of breakfasts when my husband and were there all ok but the cooked breakfast could do better.
The room was ok big enough and bathroom was good friendly staff and as we went just after lockdown they all a bit short staffed and I hope they get things together in the next few weeks, I will forgive them for that.
My rating will stand at the moment

Very well situated, on the seafront very close to the pier. Very friendly but breakfast a bit chaotic, probably due just having reopened. We would happily fist again. Room was very nice exterior needs attention though.

First time staying here after staying at many other hotels in Eastbourne, stayed in 1st floor seafacing room with great view over the pier.

Positives:
Great views
Large room
Good shower
Good covid measures on place

Negatives:
Slow check in
No bath towels (just 2 x hand towels)
Coffee machine .. couldn't get to work and no instructions to operate it.
£6 per day charge to park in hotel car park.

* Asked reception for bath towels and someone to show haw the coffee machine worked, was told towels would be dropped to the room and someone would look at coffee machine ..
Neither were attended to during our stay.

All in all a pleasant stay however and well situated for beach and town, and would stay again, shame they never followed up on promises

7/10
