Excellent staff, very polite and attentive, very deserving of the review as it makes such a difference when people help you rather than hinder you... we were visiting the area and so glad we popped in for hot food and drinks which was good value... Kayleigh, Izzy, lee and Fenn all helped me and my family. When in the area we'll be coming here... Well done!!!

Perfect meal, great beer, friendly, knowledgeable staff - entertained my 6 year old girl who insisted on sitting at the bar ! Fish and chips superb, pork belly even better, old fashioned cocktail topped it all off. 6 stars!

Off the cuff dinner. Was flipping lovely. Plentiful and tasty and very reasonable price. I had lamb shank and my friend had roast beef. Both done to perfection. Get there early as we nearly never got a table.

We had a lovely lunch here - the staff were very pleasant and helpful and brought us a high chair - as we were outside, it was order at the bar - perfectly standard.
The food arrived in good time and the nachos, Camembert, chips and chicken wings were all very good and large in size. All in all a very nice lunch and a huge menu so we will have to return to try more! All great for vegans and veggies.

We sheltered from the rain in this lovely pub and stayed for food.
They were so welcoming, accommodating 8 of us and 2 dogs. The food was delicious. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended

Remarkably friendly and quick service. Very wide range of vegan and gluten-free dishes, which is really great as this is not yet offered in Germany. I used to love coming to the Crown and Anchor when visiting Eastbourne but had a horrible experience this time. The bar staff are fantastic, very friendly and helpful, but I ordered some chicken wings for £7.50 and when they arrived we received 5 of the tiniest chicken wings you can imagine. I mentioned this to the manager as I was quite disappointed and he was very despondent saying that’s just how it is, and how he thought it was really good value, not showing any sympathy at all. Shocking customer service. I don’t think I’ll be coming back and will certainly not recommend any more.

Not bad, the starter of pate was good, but I wasn't keen on the homemade Stilton burger. It wasn't as good as I would have hoped. I'm always shocked when I return to the UK how expensive things are.
