Impressive building and big capacity, has everything that you could want for a theatre. I have experienced slow service at the bar on one occasion so pre order when possible.

Eastbourne always produces a superb pantomime and "Dick Whittington" was no exception. From the moment the curtain rose on the city of London, to the Grand Finale, we experienced entertainment at its best. The action was slick, the singing and dancing perfectly timed and the double act between the Dame and Lazy Jack was hilarious. Highlights included Dick's dream imaginatively projected on the big screen, and the beautiful underwater scenes of luminous fish and atmospheric music. King Rat made a convincing villain, ably foiled by the good fairy, and Dick was well supported by an amazingly athletic cat, whom the audience was invited to name. I went with a group of students from a local language school from five different nationalities, and they were all enchanted. Eastbourne really does put on the best pantomimes!

Love this lovely old theatre. Surprised the concert was not a sell out, loads of empty seats. Wonderful night with excellent artistes. Midge Ure and band were outstanding.

Caught a great show by Dr Hook purely by chance. Thanks in no small part to the excellent booking office staff and management who went out of their way to provide my wife and me with tickets. Great little theatre. Recommended.

A most enjoyable evening at this very special theatre. A great nostalgic atmosphere as soon as you walk in and it is soon very obvious how much TLC has gone into keeping its period charm.

Thoroughly enjoyed "The Ghost's Touch", which kept us wondering where the story was going until the surprising twist at the end.

Well done to all involved!

A lot of love and money has gone into conserving this gem of a theatre. It is good to see it being used well and with a range of programming. The show we saw ( The Time Machine ) was perhaps better suited to a smaller venue but we enjoyed it nonetheless, along with a small audience. I can imagine the place really humming with a full house.

I do wish that the TLC could be extended to the toilets; these desperately need a spruce up and a coat of paint at a minimum. A job for the Friends of the Theatre perhaps ?

The bar did not stay open after the show, a missed opportunity as the show finished before 9.00pm. The Buccaneer pub is adjacent to the stage door, however, and offers discounts on drinks and food to ticket holders.

Last nights opening of Wait Until Dark was the very worst performance we have ever watched. From the first to the last scene we subjected to amateur acting and weak lines. As fairly regular theatre goers, both in Eastbourne and London and Devonshire Park being such a lovely venue, this was most disappointing.

We've been to this theatre on many occasions and always had a very good time. Our last visit this May was no exception. The performances are always well priced, compared to the expensive London theatres, & the ambiance in the theatre is always pleasant. The ushering staff are joily & informative and we always look forward to a good evenings entertainment there. Our last few visits have been brilliant, all the productions being great.

I booked a matinee performance with the family from 10 - 65 in age with a disabled member. THe theatre was welcoming with good accessible access and seating. Staff were helpful and with seat prices at £19 across the range really very good value for a fun and polished performance from actors who threw themselves into extremely demanding parts with great enthusiasm

Went to see One Man Two Guvnor's at this venue - marvelous performance with a talented group of actor musicians, great venue - well maintained and welcoming staff. The show was excellent and staging was good with clear visibility and acoustics in the stalls. Good and clean facilities throughout.

One Man two Guvnors is just funny with a capital F. Laugh out loud is a well trodden sentence but this production simply is. Brilliantly performed by the cast who are both excellent in comedy but handy musicians to boot. Great audience interaction keeps the front rows on their tows. For a night out you simply can do no better just get your ticket now!!

This play was HILARIOUS, we were lucky to be sitting in the front row and there was a little bit of audience participation which was unusual and unexpected. Also the music was so wonderful, all the cast played and swapped instruments and sang and it was such a surprising joy between scenes, also serving to create the atmosphere of the time the play was set. I very often drop off at the theatre and there was no chance of that happening at this play!!!

A brilliant performance of a great thriller. Ciara Johnson was superb and Peter Lovstrom's central role certainly had us stumped. We would thoroughly recommend the play and the theatre has wonderful friendly staff and a great atmosphere.
