I didn't realise how powerful it is to see the hundreds that turn out for an afternoon knees up at Eastbourne Bandstand. The music isn't everyone's cup of tea but even the sun comes out to play for this eclectic British pastime

Spending time down in Eastbourne over Christmas. We didn't want to miss the brass band perform in the band stand. What a wonderful atmosphere it was with so many people there to listen.
It really was a great start to the day.

What an innovative use of the perimeter walk around the band stand at the upper level during the December days. Lots of little wooden chalets erected (on a temporary basis I hasten to add!) selling all sorts of Christmas gifts and food in a very relaxed atmosphere . Called in a couple of times once during the day and tonight just after dark at about 5.00pm Magical - well done to whoever thought up this idea for local businesses
