Very ornate and a typical sea side pier - worth a visit and a a nice looking spectacle. Pub and night club and amusements etc

Last year the pier was undergoing a lot of work following the fire.
This year many of the old buildings are missing and there is a vast open space in the middle of the pier where they used to be. Lots of floorspace if you want to dance! The "pub" at the end of the pier has changed hands too (it used to be the "Waterhole" I think) and with the change has lost its relaxing, family friendly character and identity. The decor is rather odd - very glitzy furniture, none of which matched, chaise lounges mixed with wooden tables and garden chairs, plus photos of 50s singers and Union Jack flags covering the walls and doorways. Not sure what to make of it. Is it a nightclub now? We just wanted to chill after a very long walk and get a cup of tea whilst relaxing on a comfortable sofa, only to discover the whole establishment has been redecorated since last year and all the comfy furniture has disappeared. This place might look good in the evening if everyone is dressed for a night out but it does't really appeal to the daytime traveller - we felt a bit out of place in our trainers and shorts! I wonder if it will be there next year?

Eastbourne has a wonderful pier thanks to Sheikh Abid Gulzar. With its shinny gold domes and extra large seating area it's a lovely place to visit on a sunny day.

So so much nicer than nearby piers. Plenty of space, clean and pleasing to the eye. I still haven't seen a fisherman catch a fish tho!!!

I like piers, and this is a nice example of one. There is a large open area to start with, which I hear was were they had a fire which destroyed some booths. This leaves a nice space to sit and relax, and there are still plenty of places to shop if that's your thing.

Enjoyed a pleasant and bracing stroll on the pier and had a good ice cream and coffee at the pier entrance.

lovely pier and now the sheikh owns it its being done up slowly ( cant knock him for the amount he is investing in the town) however there isnt much to do on the pier and the tearooms are a bit of a let down

Watch out for seagulls as they sit on lamps and as you open your fish and chips or pizza they swop down on you and nick your food 😂

This pier was burnt down a few years ago and if you saw it then, you would think it was impossible to replace it.

However, you should see it now! It's beautiful again although perhaps not as it used to be but still pretty darn good!

The whole area is gorgeous so having the pier back in all its glory again is a bonus!

Lovely pier really well kept. Plenty of benches and seats to relax and take in the sea air. Usual arcade and fish and chips available with night club at the end of the pier (which wasn't open when we visited ) Would definitely recommend visiting this beautiful pier.

I found the pier a little jaded and sad for mine. The presence of a bar/nightclub at end of the pier just cheapen the whole place even further. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this part of town.

This is an interesting pier with free entry. It has a number of amusement arcades and a quaint tea shop (although I didn't go in). I was slightly disappointed I couldn't get access past the Pavilion to the end of the pier. Similarly, the Pavilion architecture was fascinating and it would have been nice to be able to have a look around inside.

Whenever we go to Eastbourne we always have a walk along the pier and if its not to windy we always have a deck chair on there for a while

There are plenty of seats here and the whole pier is easily accessible. The view of Eastbourne highlights that there are no shops on the seafront. It is this that gives Eastbourne it's special feel.

We walked along this pier seveal time during our stay in the Burlington hotel which is opposie. There are arcades shops and places to eat as well as a nightclub. We also sent time just people watching. It was nice to be able to stroll along and enjoy the views.

Nice pier and spotless. Arcades rubbish. We won several times on 10p drop and money did not come out. Pure rip off. Pay your money so should get your prize.

Put this simply this is a nice pier with some cafes and Resturants. I think you can climb to next to the gold dome, but it's a fair way up. It's worth a visit but for a pier rather lacking in amusements.
