The pier is beautiful. There was a lot to see on each side, and the facilities were good. It is certainly not like going to any other pier, however, as there were no amusements and both much to do... At all! I'm not sure whether I would go back as it had fewer views than Beachy Head, and fewer things to do than the majority of attractions in Eastbourne.

Eastbourne is a beautiful place, the pier provides a beautiful view of the town. There are a few arcades and a couple places to grab a bite, its worth visiting once. It could do with a bit of updating and more activities to do.

Eastbourne pier is coming along nicely after its disaster, still some on going work but not a problem to visitors. Nice pier & well worth a visit when in Eastbourne.
Nice views from pie, Recommend very much indeed.

I have been going to the pier since I was a kid. After it burned down I was worried it would never get back to its former glory. Last night I walked along the pier and was pleasantly surprised. It Actually looks a lot better without the arcades, with open spaces and benches. The decking behind Atlantis is great, a cafe there would be good!

We were only here for an overnight stop at Polegate en route to Dorset and spent a very enjoyable day, apart from getting sunburnt, walking on the seafront, Pier and shops of Eastbourne, so this is not just about the Pier. Everyone we met and/or spoke to were very friendly and helpful and would like to visit again and stay longer next time. Just to give our legs and feet a rest in the afternoon we chose to take a ride on the open top bus. Value for money we think, as are most of these trips, and included the possibility of getting off at Beach Head if you wished, which at that particular moment was very cloudy and windy so we gave it a miss. If we had it might have helped avoiding some of that sunburn I think!

The pier is an interesting piece of history, however while it does maintain some of its Victorian heritage it has suffered multiple fires over the years and not much of the original structures are left (the most recent one destroyed almost half of it completely).

It will be interesting to see what the new owner does with it, for now though it's a shadow of it's former self.

In the mean time it still has amazing views, a cafe, a bar and a few interesting shops so well worth a visit.

Walked right to the end of this pier on Saturday! Had a beer sitting on the end with amazing views! The sun was shining and people watching here was fun! Seagulls flying / landing / posing.. Lots of eateries and makes for a very pleasant few hours :)

A visit to the pier is a must to enjoy the great views of the ocean and Eastbourne. There is not much to see or do on the pier, there are a few arcades and cafes/restaurants. The pier is a bit worn down and is in need of refurbishment and cleaning. There are large trash bins just by the entrance which gives a bad first impression.

Quite a long pier looks to have just been done over with new seating and glossy paintwork, the wooden flooring must have cost such a lot of money but nice to walk on.shops a plenty and fish and chips at the entrance.

Nice walk by the sea. Nothing much to do but it is nice to be by the water. Too bad it is to cold to swim there.

Fun to look at the few swimmers.

Beautiful pier . Visited before the fire of 2014 and was expecting to see some photos of the wonderful restoration works, some newspaper cuttings etc. And NOTHING! :-( . Disappointed . Found a great gift shop on the pier. And chippy good but could be sooooo much more! But Barron and not much there, a nightclub at the end a tea shop, amusements , gift shop that's it.

Pretty normal pier experience. All the normal things you would find on a pier, places to eat, things to buy.

We visited Eastbourne pier as we noticed it had "reopened". The pier has always been very dear to me as my grandparents used to spend a lot of time here.
The first thing i noticed was the vast empty area when you walked onto it. The pier has been bought by a shiek. The pier has only limited things on it now. Gone is the Blue Room Arcade and the slot machines. There is a tea rooms which has large orangey crystal long chandeliers which does not match the pier at all. There is a bar towards the bottom which has only one or two people in it. The glass blowing studio is still there, but apart from that there is nothing else. There are gold lions dotted about all over the pier which is apparently what the new owner likes. There is also talk of the new owner charging everyone £1-2 to get onto the pier and in return he may offer people a compliemantary tea or coffee. There is talk that the pier is not 100% safe yet and this can be seen as there are lights which were burnt in the fire but they have not been replaced. The pier is also cordoned off at night and it no longer lit.
This is very very sad. I wish the pier was like it used to be. 😭😭

Lovely for a summer stroll. Lots of places for tea, cakes, fish and chips etc. There's a nice pub at the end which has great views over the coastline. The pier is a credit to the town.

What a gorgeous pier. It is clearly well maintained, with works I going. There are a number of eateries on the pier including a chip shop, coffee bar and tea shop ( which looked fab). The pier itself is wide and had plenty of picnic benches for people to use. Very encouraging for families to sit and have their picnics.

Lovely pier for Eastbourne to be proud of.
