Having grown up in Eastbourne the Pier has always been the focal point of Eastbourne. It is amazing how different it looks now though and walking around the Pier was a weird experience.

If you come to Eastbourne and fancy a 5 minute walk around the Pier it is well worth a visit to say that you have been. IMO there is absolutely nothing to do on the Pier but worth a walk.

Worth visiting. Open walking spaces, lovely views, bunting and traditional. Unusual tea room and bar with outside seating.

Nice to see it's been repaired since its fire a few years ago, maybe it's still work in progress in getting things replaced. Not the longest pier but offers a very wide open space.

We had a walk on the pier where you can enjoy the sun in a free deckchair or one of the many other seats on there. Be sure to visit the Victorian Tea Room with its beautiful chandeliers and a nice selection of delicious cakes.

On a trip to Eastbourne you have to venture up the lovely pier, it is a must! Really well maintained and under constant maintenance, every time I visit it is blatantly obvious that regular care is taken with its upkeep. The pier offers shops, food outlets, bar and amusements. But, above all an unrivalled view of the sea and seafront. Beautiful Victorian Timepiece with modern amenities, just lovely.

An enjoyable stroll to see the views back of the town. We enjoyed visiting the glassblowing workshop on the pier. There are also a number of other little shops.

Make no mistake this is not the same hustling and bustling pier as Brighton, it is quieter with less attractions, that said it is not tacky and has a lovely café with amazing chandeliers in it. Very peaceful and really enjoyed being here on a sunny day looking out at the sea. Views back to Eastbourne promenade are equally attractive.

I understand there was a fire a couple of years ago but the pier is now well kept and well maintained. Plenty of benches to sit and take in the air and the views from the end of the pier are amazing. It is free to go on and there is a lovely tea shop and a couple of speciality shops to booze around.

On a warm, sunny summer's day, this Pier has shops, a bar and an afternoon tea restaurant. It is long enough to be a pleasant stroll and interesting enough to keep you there for some time.

Since being re built they seem to have just put benches around the decking which seems to be a shame. No shops or little gift boutiques back in the centre. Wondering if this pier has been sold off by the council?

The pier is still in the process of being re-vamped. If you enjoy a bracing walk this is the ideal place to do it. Nice to see the original features being taken care of and it will be a great place to visit in the future.

Was in Eastbourne for the weekend & took a stroll down the pier. In comparison to Brighton (less than half hour down the road) this pier is quiet, no fun fair rides, plenty of space to walk down, lots of clean, freshly installed picnic benches & a good, cheap chip shop at the top of it. We were quite surprised to see it closing down at 7pm on a Friday night, but it was out of season & given that there are no amusements or anything of huge interest there to see it's no surprise really.

This pier is a lot nicer and quieter than the carnival that is the Brighton pier. It has some food and shops, but not so in your face as in Brighton. There are picknick tables you can use, but at your own risk with all those filthy sea gulls flying around. Fun to walk on and off, but nothing really special. Do or do not.

We really enjoyed our visit to Eastbourne Pier. We found it very clean with no litter and on the day we visited it was very busy which was lovely to see. We had a coffee in the Victorian tearoom which is situated on the pier. It seemed strange sitting under very ornate chandeliers. It was a pleasant half hour break however and we would recommend it.

Beautifully rebuilt and a nice stroll. Pity they've built an ugly night club there-at least make it glass so you could see where you are dancing! Pointless.
But a nice piece of history restored:)

Lovely to see the difference from Brighton Pier - loved that it did not have all the commercial activity of Brighton!

I went on May 31st and everything was shut but it was nice to walk up one side and down the other! The side looking towards Beachy Head is particularly nice.

I would imagine it would be nice in the height of summer when everything is open. There are no amusements though if you like that sort of thing

There is a nightclub at the end and the local public toilets are either side of the pier at the start.

Fun. He likes waves. There were waves. We smiled. We laughed. We cried. All in all. Very emotional. Highly recommend if you want to see waves. Full stop.

What a lovely pier to stroll along with views and plenty of seats to relax on.
We took a open top tour of Eastbourne and surrounding areas beachy head and beyond, well worth it a 45 min ride with lots of hop on n hop off places to visit also the ticket lasted 2 days good value for money.

Went for our first trip along the pier today since it caught fire. Suprised that there is so much open space but a lovely walk. However their waterfront restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. Clearly advertised all over the pier that "kids eat for a £1" when adults purchase a meal. But the staff said this offer was outdated and blamed lack of advertising change. Even so we decided to eat here on a lovely Sunday afternoon. The restaurant/pub was quiet although it seemed busy at times but people were simply just using the toilets. Bar staff were pretty evasive over everything we asked them. Even down to what larger they sold! Ordered food and was charged twice for one meal and the sides completely were forgotten. Spoke to the bar lady who refunded the meal cost (we decided that the error with the side dishes wasn't worth changing) food came out in good time.however it is cheap nasty motorway cafe style food. The fish and chips was straight out of a frozen food section in a supermarket not flavor and all batter. The burgers were rubbery and lacked flavor. Portion sizes were ok for the price. Got talking to a couple of other families at their tables and one had been served a beef dish instead of a vegetarian option! Another had had issues with staff and the quality of food. Drink prices were reasonable although the larger wasn't the nicest or the coldest. The atmosphere was drab. 4 tvs scattered around not one on! No music in background and the toilets were disgusting. The ladies smelt of urine and washing your hands felt like you were just putting more germs on them.over all a very rotten place for what could be an ideal spot on the pier to relax and eat with family and friends. When speaking to staff about issues you just felt like you were in the way and they really either had no idea how to help or couldn't be bothered. Would not recommend for food. But the pier should be given a go. A traditional pier and the market going on outside was lovely (only wish we had eaten from one of the stalls instead)
