Eastbourne Pier

A busy, Victorian seaside Resort. The Pier dates from the late Victorian era, the second structure as the first caught fire. It is still ideal for promenading, with various outlets & quaint gift shops. The Victorian Tea House is outstanding, with wonderful full cream teas, served by smart helpful staff in the cafe bedecked with royal memorabilia & two fabulous chandeliers! Toilet is extremely clean & disabled friendly.
Remember - dont feed the seagulls!

Work is being carried out at the building at the end of the pier, but otherwise the pier was fine.. as piers go! The stalls along the promenade leading off the pier were attractive and worthwhile stopping at. The food section offered tempting food from Mexico to Greece... with some Asian Fusion... all looked good!

Sadly, I think Eastbourne Pier has gone downhill. There were piles of pallets and building rubbish along one side, but no evidence of any work. The whole thing looks a bit tired.Visited on

Fish and chips, amusements, ice cream and a pier: what is there not to like?

Although looking a little in need of attention, this couldn't be more English. Love it.

Definitely worth a visit. I think you could say a lot but to be honest just go and experience a little of pier life yourself, I'm sure you won't regret it.

Went to Eastbourne pier. Oh how disappointing it was. Crazy paper things flying out of machines for prizes. Crazy singing. Expensive every thing. Must be getting old 😆 🤣

Haven't been to Eastbourne for years but it's lovely. Pebbly beach, not busy at all, good food places and of course the arcades for kids.

An absolute delight 😊 Free parking at Holywell lovely 😍 walk 🚶‍♀️ along the Promenade to the pier. It was a warm sunny day, the sea was blue, clean pebble beaches ⛱ 💙 👌 😎. Many places to stop for refreshments, and light bites. Lovely views from the pier, fishing off the end. Colourful flower beds 10 minute walk 🚶‍♀️ to the main town centre 😀.

Nice to visit some victoriana history. Free to step on. Just walk on and enjoy the magnificent splendour of unique history. A tea room. Amusement arcades. A rock shop and fish and chips and ice cream shop all add to the experience. Fully accessible by scooter or wheelchair. Dont miss the gift shop right at the far end. Didn't see any toilets.

Visited Eastbourne for a 5 day holiday, Much cleaner than Brighton and less busy than Brighton... Just not much going on in the pier. Amusements and arcades was okay, not as big, however, very generous with tickets, and prizes are good. Nice, quiet and peaceful. My son who is autistic really enjoyed the open top bus, was like a roller coaster ride for him all windy, went through beachy head and Berlin gap, beautiful up there. Would love to have got on the dotto train however that was always full, unfortunately. So a Pleasant 5days in Eastbourne.

!! Do watch out for seagulls, the most largest seagull got me from behind my head, literally landing on me trying to steal my Greek gyro, luckily it could not grab it and my glasses got in the way... Lesson learnt!!

A pleasant enough pier, easy to avoid the amusements. We walked along early in the morning after checking out of our hotel, none of the small businesses on the pier had opened. Beware, you cannot walk right round the end as part of it is closed off for an angling club, you have to retrace your steps.

A few shops and an arcade with mostly gaming machines. A good bar at the end of the pier - often featuring live music.
A big let down was a rubbish bin near the entrance that was full to over-flowing on the Saturday and still had not been emptied by Sunday evening, with even more rubbish on the floor. Whoever is responsible for emptying the bin is not doing their job. This does not set a good example to the public to keep Eastbourne litter free.
We've just spent another weekend in Eastbourne; unfortunately, the bins near the entrance were, yet again, overflowing with rubbish all over the floor. Alarmingly, there was building and commercial rubbish dumped on the floor (including a circular saw!). Whoever is responsible for the management of the pier should be ashamed of themselves!
On a positive note: there is fantastic free live music at the end of the pier.

Amazing place with beautiful view. Just be careful with the Seagulls while having your food coz they do snatch any food you might be eating.
