What a lovely day! Eastbourne is SO much friendlier, cleaner and more interesting than Brighton. Amazing food and service at the Crown and Anchor pub on the seafront.

Most of the shops were closed or empty, only a very rundown tiny arcade and a rather expensive pub.

Very busy, but so much fun, with various stools for all ages.

Like most sea resorts in the UK, the Pier is one of the main features for the tourists. Although quite shorter than Brighton's, Eastbourne pier is very popular and has some kind of Orthodox/Oriental look with its golden painted roofs.

Building work is going on, but it's a classic old pier. Should put the No Dogs sign at the entrance rather than half way along the pier though!

It's a pier. What's not to like? We visited on Pirates on the pier day with my nieces and they lived pirate spotting. The leaning old pier buildings are full of character.

Free entry to the pier is fine and it's all structurally sound. The Victorian Tea Rooms are nice and the pub and the amusements are okay. However there are several empty units which are being refurbished, ready to be used for whatever????
