Brilliant service , fantastic food , decent price. We stumbled upon this by goole and so please we did. Casata was amazing and the seafood risotto out of this world .

Always great food and service. An ideal restaurant for a pre theatre meal.Look for money off vouchers on theatre tickets.

The big positive was a very friendly, nice and efficient service. The dining room was also ok. However, the food was not as good as we had hoped for reading all the reviews on TripAdvisor. If you have been to Italy you will quickly realize why. The food is in reality a mix of english and italian cuisine. The starters: on menu it says fried sardines in olive oil but it was in reality fried herring. My asspargus said finished under the grill but that part was forgotten. Also way too much butter and cheese to keep the fresh feeling in this dish. For main course we had ”Medaglioni di manzo ai porcini”. The meat was pefectly cooked but the paté on top of the meat had a too strong taste of liver and the sauce was too sweat. Good to offer vegitables on the side but a bit rough with steamed carrots and cauliflower plus fried potatoes with some sort of grill spice.

Visited with my family. Catered very attentively to my daughter’s nut and wife’s gluten allergies. Food was delicious. Lemon Sole is highly recommended. Also made my daughters an amazing bespoke off the menu mock tail.

We Went as part of a large birthday party .GREAT ATMOSPHERE, YOU REALLY FEEL WELCOME. Lovely fun staff who really pamper you. You feel part of the family
Large menu with mouthwatering choices. Even different liver dishes, which I’ve never seen before in England. Veal Milanese, my favourite, and hard to find. So many choices! Eating here is like being transported direct to Italy to a fantastic restaurant that you will talk about and remember as a highlight.A wonderful evening. We live 30 miles away but will be back soon.
Great desserts.A huge thank you to La Locanda.
Easy parking outside.

I read great reviews of this restaurant before I left for Eastbourne. On my first night in Eastbourne I went there for dinner. The staff were so friendly and the principal visited every table to see if you were happy. The meal was also great with a large number of choices available. I enjoyed the meal so much I went back again. It is a very busy restaurant so it is advisable to book a table in advance.

Excellent choice of menu. Beautifully serviced. Very tasty food. Staff always extremely pleasant and helpful. Very well presented. You may have a little wait, when they are busy, but it's worth it,because you know it's been made fresh for you.
They have a good choice of wine's at reasonable prices.Nothing is too much trouble, so if you have special needs, just mention it,they would be more than happy to oblige.

It's always a risk recommending a certain restaurant for a special meal out but not here. Reliably good friendly service and possibly the widest choice I have ever seen on a menu. Food is amazing and not like the mass produced "Italian food" you get from the chains. This is as close to Italy as you can get in Eastbourne! Pictures dont do it justice.
Thanks for a great evening - the bride-to-be was very happy with my choice!

Beautiful family restaurant. EHA chose this restaurant because they are so popular with the locals. There is an extensive menu and everyone is assured to find something they like at a very reasonable price. The food is really well cooked and tasty and service is friendly and efficient. If you hold passport plus or are a guest at an EHA member hotel you can get 10% off your meal here too.

Once again I visited with a group of male friends and we were pleased with the meal as usual. The Menu is very extensive and not at all over priced. The house wine is very palatable and reasonably priced. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive and although the room was full the service was good. The owner as always came to our table and asked if everything was OK, its the little personal professional touches that make this restaurant a superb venue. I have booked for a family celebration later this month and we are all looking forward to another good evening.

This takes Italian cooking to a new level. Every time we visit it just gets better and better. Five types of bread and olives served on arrival, all complimentry. Scallops are just superb, very fresh cooked to perfection. White bait w as crispy and the flavour was in every mouth full. We can never resist the liver which is so thinly sliced as to explode with flavour. This takes liver to an all new level. Great puds and a good wine list. Staff are charming. We look forward to our next visit.

Our first time here and we loved it.
A big menu makes choosing difficult. A nice selection of breads to munch on while you make your mind up.Home made Ravioli was very good followed by an excellent Halibut steak. All mains come with a great selection of vegetables and more are available at no extra charge. The cassata desert is Devine.
A very pleasing feature is that everything comes to your table piping hot.....unlike at many places these days.We were just thinking a complimentary Limoncello would finish things of nicely and Bingo a gorgeous Limoncello sorbet arrived.....So good!
Don’t miss this gem and do make a reservation!

I don’t really know what to make of this restaurant. It has a sister restaurant directly next door which serves classic “British” Italian food, so to an ok standard that is reflected in the prices....not the kind of Italian food you would have in a decent trattoria for example. They seem to share a kitchen but in La Locanda the prices are quite a bit higher.
Lo Locanda feels like going on an all inclusive holiday and visiting that “fine dining” Italian restaurant in a resort in Turkey. The place has no character or soul. The food is pretty average and tasteless. All compounded by an over exuberant waitress who started to count the till loudly while we and another table were still seated.Strange place but highly regarded in Eastbourne for some reason.

We came for lunch here last Sunday and everything was excellent, from the greeting at the door, to the leisurely, efficient service to the perfectly cooked and presented food. My husband and I agreed that the beef was the most tender we had ever experienced, and the tirimasu was second to none. There were also the additional delicacies of the strawberry ice, the limoncello and the mints. All in all, a wonderful occasion!

Whilst staying in an Eastbourne seafront hotel, we came across this fine establishment. Fish (sole and bream) was excellent - and we shall be returning soon. Relatively inexpensive, with friendly and knowledgeable staff - and great wine.

We visited this restaurant the previous year when we were staying in Eastbourne & the food & service was so good we decided to return this year. There was live music on the Sunday we went & it was a great night. The atmosphere in the restaurant was buzzing. The food & service was excellent. I only wish this restaurant was local to us. I would thoroughly recommend a visit to this restaurant.

Another selection based on trip advisor reviews and it didn't disappoint. The service was fabulous, the owner came out and welcomed us. I had some lovely scallops for starters and the stuffed chicken for main. Minor point but worth it, the toilets were sparkling.
