We had an excellent meal here on Wednesday evening and when I said I needed Gluten Free food, I was told they could work around it and I could have anything on the menu.
So I did! Even Spaghetti alla Vongole. Excellent

What a find this is I have visited twice since my first Lunch here in March. Once with a group of 11 Men for a dining club dinner and once with two friends. The set menu is terrific value for money:between us we have tried most of the items on this menu and all were great tasting freshly prepared and with very generous portions. This is a real Italian Family restaurant with a very friendly well trained staff and superb food. I do not hesitate to give it a very strong recommendation. If you like good food and wine that is value for money give it a try. There is also an extensive A La Carte menu with interesting looking dishes and a fabulous choice of fresh pasta. Will be a regular visitor here.

First visit to Eastbourne and asked advice from a local. What a find. This restaurant ticked all the boxes for us and obviously has a loyal local following and deservedly so.
Typical friendly, but professional,Italian hospitality. A wide menu with lots of fresh seasonal options and as tasty and tender as you’ll find . Generous portions too. Good wine list with a wide range of prices.Wish we lived closer.

A group of us visiting Eastbourne enjoyed dining here last year so went back again on our latest visit. Did not disappoint. Enjoyable food and although very busy the service was friendly and efficient. Recommended

Another restaurant near to my accommodation with a lovely “homely” atmosphere. Great tables with very comfortable seating coupled with attentive friendly service by mainly Italian owners/staff. Their “set menu” for lunch or evening is reasonably priced with a choice of two or three courses. They have a good selection of popular wines by the glass (useful for single diners!) and the menu has a good selection as well. Also you can use some dishes from the main menu to include in the set price. A really sensible idea. The sweets are also excellent well worth “making room” for! A true dining experience!

Our first visit to La Locanda Del Duca last night. Booked a table for five at the last minute so they managed to squeeze us in and we are so glad they did!
We were warmly welcomed by all the staff and seated immediately. The staff were attentive, helpful and friendly. Olives and bread on the table, lovely atmosphere and decor. The menu is extensive but everything we had was done beautifully. Between us we made our way through salmon, monkfish, sea bass, chicken and tagliatelle and we all cleared our plates. The wine selection was good, desserts delightful (especially the Tiramisu) and good coffee to finish.
Will definitely go back next time we're in Eastbourne

We we there to celebrate my mother-in-laws 80th birthday. She has to have gluten and dairy free food. The restaurant could not have been more helpful. We took along our own birthday cake which they added candles to and brought out as a surprise. On top of all this the food is excellent.

Arriving unannounced, had an excellent, well presented and tasty meal which effectively evoked Italy: and all accompanied by a fine glass of wine, will gladly come again.

I was on a day trip down from Surrey and decided to try this restaurant, and what an absolutely delightful find. The food was perfectly cooked - I had the sardines followed by a beautifully presented, perfeclyt cooked lobster with a creamy mushroom sauce - I am still salivating!! My dessert was a very tasty tiramisu - excellent. The service was 1st class and I was made to feel very welcome - I was dining alone. I do not visit Eastbourne on a particularly regular basis but if I do return I will definitely be heading back to this restaurant. An absolute treat.

As always, a perfect meal and wonderfully friendly service. This is probably the best restaurant in Eastbourne. We were celebrating our 32nd wedding anniversary and as soon as they knew, the owners and staff were giving us free drinks and an anniversary card, so friendly and caring. As seafood lovers we went for the sardines and the baby squid as starters followed by monkfish and lemon sole mains. Every dish was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. Naturally, in a premium Italian restaurant, dessert is always a highlight. My wife opted for their delicious take on a creme brulee and I had the stunning cream stuffed pancake. All washed down with lovely wine and liquour coffees. Thank you La Locanda for a perfect evening.

Not the modern, pretentious overpriced, over fingered small portions on a huge plate, idea of fine dining from which you leave poorer and still hungry. No slimy purees or fancy foams; just very well cooked traditional food. GREAT!
This is an old style family Italian restaurant. Smartly dressed waiters welcome you with a smile and Sheppard you to a well dressed table with proper linen cloths and serviettes. A basket of assorted Italian Bread, a dish of assorted olives and a jug of iced water were brought rapidly to the table and our drinks order taken. We only wanted a light lunch so we chose from the very reasonably priced set 3 course menu. The selection was good and portions were perfectly adequate. We chose Mussels in a White wine and Celery cream sauce( Accompanied by a finger bowl each) to follow my wife had tagliatelle with huge fresh prawns in a light creamy sauce and I chose Skate wing pan fried with capers and assorted fresh vegetables. For desert we had a fresh fruit salad and a semifredo both of which were great. The food was beautifully cooked and presented, the service was professional, efficient and friendly. The owner came to every table introducing himself to new customers and greeting those he recognised like old friends. Our meal was well finished off with a complimentary Iced Limincello each. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return it was a very pleasant experience.

We had such a wonderful evening celebrating my husband’s 60th and our daughter’s 30th birthday! The food was exceptional as was the service. They were so busy but nothing was too much trouble. Even bringing our granddaughter in a pram did not faze them! Thank you so much!

We use this restaurant regularly and is our first choice when dining with friends or family. The staff are always friendly even when they are rushed off their feet. Luca, the owner always makes a point of speaking to all the clients and when needed, helps out at tables, both in La Locanda and Pomodoro.
We have been going for several years and have never had a bad or even mediocre meal.

We so enjoyed our meal at La Locanda last night. The house red is really good. I have allergies ( a long list!) nothing phased them and the staff couldn't be more helpful. Both our meals were delicious. My husband had the calamari and I was made something special according to what I can eat. The filet steak was really good quality and the king prawns looked fantastic.
If you want spoiling and delicious food go to La Locanda.

This is a very popular haunt and it doesn’t let you down. Food is always good and competitively priced. It is a genuine Italian restaurant in Eastbourne and beats many of the places back home. Upmarket feel. Always bustling and full of vibe.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a couple of people and I must say it didn't disappoint. A proper traditional Italian (which we love anyway). A good and varied menu, both food and wine. Plenty of staff who were excellent. If we visit Eastbourne again we will certainly book a table in advance because I would be very disappointed if we couldn't be accommodated!
