Friendly and professional Italian restaurant, great choice of dishes, tasty and well prepared. Always busy, so book. Our favourite restaurant for family occasions, would highly recommend.

I am not normally a great fan of Italian cuisine as I try to keep my carbs down. This place however allowed me to eat relatively low carb. The food was yummy. The service appropriately attentive I would not hesitate to recommend.
Make sure you book

I give them 3 stars only because of their way te be nice, telling us they were closing but they have another one opened called "pomodoro e mozzarella" where the guy on the door brought us there, - pomodoro e mozzarella worse place I've ever been, served and treated - just because I've asked why the spaghetti was broken in small piece - the waitress didn't know what to answer and I said is fine, and asked him where the chef if from, as the Italian supposed to be Italian, expected to have at least 70% of Italian food.
- I reckon was the manager, even worse to come at the table at telling me the spaghetti was broken during the cooking, and I said ok, and then he came up with agreding me with " asking the originary of the people is discriminating in the rude way possible" I've been good to pay and leave.... never again even to walk close.

I was on my last night of my holiday and was looking for something special and found ‘La Locanda Del Duca’ and decided to eat there and what a good choice. The staff were fantastic and really hospitable and the food was out of this world and would defiantly recommend a visit. If you pass this buy you have missed a treat.

Well-regarded italian restaurant with a good local reputation. Based on my first visit I can see why.
A lot larger than it looks from the outside so a good place for a long, socially-distanced, lunch as all tables well apart yet with ample capacity to accommodate cautious diners returning to the trough post-lockdown.
The decor's restrained, as is the atmosphere whilst staff are professional and friendly. Quite a comprehensive menu on offer, with a tempting range of appealing dishes under all headings.
Spurning the set menu, I tried the pork medallions in a creamy sauce. Very tender meat, more cube than medallion (no complaints, far more generous than expected) and a rather delicious sauce. Add a plentiful helping of veg of the day and I clearly wasn't going to leave hungry. Rather fancied a dessert afterwards and I was quite happy with the slice of vanilla tart that subsequently appeared. All washed down with a large glass of chianti, and this was a meal that was both enjoyable and substantial.
As I found myself stuck in Eastbourne for far longer than expected, this place was quite an oasis. Even though I was on my own, I was given a table with an interesting perspective and the service was always prompt and courteous. I'm looking forward to my next visit, with Mrs EPR, and we'll be working our way through a bit more of that enticing menu.

I went tonight to have a dinner with my wife during our Holiday, when we walk-in we have got a really nice welcome from the staff.
Before order anything we receive the bread and butter without ask anything and I loved this kind of little attention. Also the guy before take our oder gave to us really nuce advice about the food and how was made it.
After our order the drink and the food came really quickly and all was perfectly cooked nothing worst.During our dinner we had a chat with the guy who served us and he was very friendly.
At the end of the dinner I just ask Limoncello for me and my wife didn't want nothing, but the guy told her I will bring for you the frozen Limoncello without alcohol, this was nice for us, because we can se how much the staff take care of customers. I will advise everyone go there to have a lunch or dinner.

Fabulous. Don’t hesitate book in advance. A typically romantic Italian fine dining experience. This has got to be the best restaurant of its type in Eastbourne. Very welcoming, the staff are very friendly, the manager/owner visits every table during the evening to make sure you are 100% happy. The Chef has been here for 14 years. The food tasted amazing with portion sizes just right. The varied menu allows for all tastes including Vegan. Bar prices were good. Social distancing was spot on. Tables and chairs were sanitised between guessed and spacing between tables over 1 metre. It rounded our stay in Eastbourne off. The hosts make their visitors feel very special. A romantic evening. Thank you and we look forward to visiting you again.

Superb food, and great vegan and veggie options. Me and my girlfriend called in late one Saturday night, no booking, the place was packed, and they still managed to accommodate us. We are a veggie and a vegan, and we were spoilt for choice (comparatively speaking). We both had pizza, and we both thoroughly enjoyed it.

Excellent lunch on a Saturday.
First class food and service...the offer of a spirit after the meal was very welcome...I took the limoncello which was smooth and sharp.Soup and pate for starter, veal escalope and pasta for main, tiramisu (lots of flavour) and a strudel for desert.
Well worth another visit.

Excellent service and friendly staff. The food was extremely tasty, and very good value for money. I loved how the waiters/management were native Italian making the institution very authentic. A great overall experience, keep up the good work.

There are Italian restaurants and there is La Locanda del Duca. Without a doubt one of my top Italian restaurants. Delicious, inventive and traditional Italian top cuisine that will blow your senses. The service is outstanding. When I come back to Easbourne this will be an obligatory stop every time.
