I had mushrooms to start, which looked like too many but I couldn’t stop eating them. Lasagna and courgettes was tasty and the mixed salad was delicately prepared and delicious Limoncello was was an unexpected bonus

My husband and I visited, we booked in advance for 7:30 on a Saturday night. It was really busy, waiters rushed of their feet, bumping into each other as they ran around from table to table. We sat opposite the kitchen door so it was a bit uncomfortable watching it all and feeling the panic. An accident waiting to happen. However the food was good, staff friendly and the set menu very good value. If we were to visit again I wouldn’t sit anywhere near the kitchen, to many tables crammed together really.

Decided to go on the 3 course set menu. A very wide choice including the offer of any pata, gnocchi or risotto dish. Very much enjoyed the pancake stuffed with ameretto cream and fruit of the forest. And the complimentary limoncello at the end was to die for - frozen with sorbet to make the most delicious alcoholic slushy puppy ever! Go!

We visited this restaurant last Friday on Valentines Day before our trip to the theatre as we always do. The restaurant looked really lovely with the decorations and as always the food and service was fantastic. They add so many little touches which you don't get in many restaurants, like bread and olives on the table on arrival, biscuit with your coffee, chocolate with your bill and the most delicious frozen limonchello.

It's wonderful reading previous reviews that so many are impressed by Laconda , as it is known . My visits began in the early 2000's and increased as time went by . The basic reason was the extensive menu which covered 6 or 7 pages and the inspired specials , plus an attractive wine list .
In a town where Italian restaurants predominate , Laconda became my go-to regular dining out venue and remains so : and the good -humoured staff bring back memories of restaurants in Italy itself.Their pride in their work is so obvious. But the heart of the business beats in the kitchen and it shows . In many years of business use of restaurants I have rarely found such attention to detail. Compliments to the chef PLUS . Pasta is superb.
Oh, and all tips go to the staff . Thanks Laconda for it all. From me, family and friends.

First time here and couldn’t fault it. It was sons 29th birthday and they made a fuss of him with a dessert with a candle and even a birthday card.

I recently took my Husband to La Locanda for a special treat and we were both delighted with the food and the service. I suggested we opted for the 3 Course Set Menu, we both had the Melon & Ham for a starter which was a very generous portion and well presented. My Husband had the Salmon in Brandy Sauce for his main course and I had the Calves Liver, both were absolutely delicious. I cannot recall ever eating such tender and well cooked liver and this would certainly be my choice when we return again. For dessert we both had the profiteroles and, once again, were delighted with our choice.
Rarely do we find an upmarket restaurant that suits our tastes but La Locanda certainly ticked all the boxes for both of us and we will look forward to another tasty lunch next time we go on a train trip to Eastbourne.

My wife and I are currently enjoying a short break in Eastbourne and have spent 2 wonderful evenings at Locanda Del Duca. We cannot fault the food which was delicious or the staff who were very friendly, and it is obvious they are justifiably proud of their restaurant. We will certainly return should we be back in Eastbourne!!

La Locanda is the "big sister" restaurant to Pomodoro e Mozzarella. La Locanda has a more formal feel, without being stuffy. A more comprehensive menu, but still with gluten free and vegetarian options. Food is excellent. The restaurant is good anytime, but particularly pleasant for a celebration.

We frequently visit this restaurant and we just love the food the asparagus and monkfish and prawns in tomato cream sauce is to dye for staff are tops always make you feel special. a added bonus When we visited on Sunday was the entertainment Dean Martin/ Elvis it was brilliant. The atmosphere was electric we went with six friends and we all really enjoyed can't wait for next one. Thanks to all the staff keep up the good work.

We visited this restaurant first 7 years ago, and had an outstanding meal, which to my shame I didn't review and I should have. We visited again, one year ago, and the experience was repeated with a fabulous lunch. We returned again today one year later and our expectation was high - we were not disappointed. This is a gem and we highly recommend visiting this restaurant.
