The staff at the Langham were very friendly, polite and helpful, and the breakfast was excellent. The hotel is well-situated, and we found it was worth using the hotel's £8 a day offer for parking in a secure location nearby. We were only in Eastbourne for one night, but would happily stay at the Langham again.

I arranged a surprise belated birthday dinner for my husband at the Langham. The whole evening was amazing. Simon, the general manager oversaw the whole event and made sure it went off perfectly. From keeping the big secret to the way our guests were looked after we couldn’t have asked for more. Michael and his team in the kitchen created the most delicious menu. Miguel kept us topped up with his fabulous cocktails in the elegant cocktail bar and Ali and her team in the restaurant looked after us beautifully. Music was provided by the very talented Paula and Barney (Duality) which added yet another dimension of enjoyment to our evening. We have received so many messages of thanks from our guests saying how much they enjoyed the music, food, cocktails and the whole elegant yet relaxed feel of the evening. Neil and Wendy ( hotel owners) do a fantastic job of personally looking after their guests and we are just looking for our next excuse to book another celebration at the Langham. We will be back very soon.

Amazing hotel. Friendly and very helpful staff. Spotlessly clean. Delicious food. Fish arrived filleted as I'd broken my elbow. Can't compliment everyone enough.

We splashed out on a suite with a four poster bed for 5 nights since we are not going to Crete any time soon. We spent a lot of time in the window seats watching the sea, just a shame that the balcony wasnt accessible. The decor is quite old fashioned in the room but scrupulously clean, as was the bathroom. There were plenty of towels and lovely toiletries.
We only used the restaurant for breakfast. The food was faultless. Some of the waiters were a bit surly, I did have some concerns which I messaged the hotel privately but have not had a reply.
Overall a lovely stay, but wouldnt pay those sort of prices again.

Our family group stayed here for my mum’s 90th birthday and we could not have been made more welcome, all the staff from check in to waiters, to cleaners etc were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. They really pulled out all the stops to make my mum’s birthday special and they succeeded she absolutely loved it. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. Rooms were clean, comfortable and had all the amenities needed. The staff here really are exceptional and a credit to the General Manager and the recruitment team.l

I took my elderly parents here for a break - first time they had left London in 2 years.
The service was first class and they did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Everyone was so nice and friendly.

Nothing was too much trouble.

Breakfast was first class.

We stayed at the Langham with my sister-in-law and her husband for one night as a ‘treat’ as we all live locally and wanted a nice break . We had heard great reports of the hotel and we were not disappointed . From check in to departure we were well looked after by the friendly and efficient staff . From the receptionists to the waiters, waitresses and bar staff they were all ‘top drawer ‘ !
ROOM
We had booked a sea view room ,which having run past the hotel most mornings ,I knew would have lovely views. Unlike most U.K. seaside hotels we have stayed in previously , it was very recently redecorated and fitted with a free safe, hairdryer ,tea making facilities, bath robes , slippers etc . Everywhere was very clean and the bathroom had a nice shower . The bed was very comfortable with sumptuous pillows !
FOOD
We had to prebook our evening meal due to Covid rules to avoid overcrowding which was no problem. The restaurant was therefore not full and the views from our table across the seafront were lovely. There was a vast menu to choose from and the food was delicious especially the rack of lamb. During the meal we were entertained by a music duo ‘Duality ‘ who played and sang lots of favourites of ours ,including a request which was nice . They were in the background so did not disturb our meal and made it even more pleasurable .
GENERAL
The hotel have hand sanitisers available and all the staff were wearing masks . We felt safe Covid wise and very relaxed throughout our stay . There is also a small car park at the hotel but we were able to park round the corner without a problem .
We will definitely be returning to the hotel and in fact have already booked the Valentine night for next year . We cannot fault the hotel or it’s staff in any way .

Every single part of our stay from booking directly with the hotel, through our arrival, stay & checkout was pleasurable. The staff are friendly( without being patronising) efficient and an asset to the hotel. Although a traditional English seaside hotel, the public & private rooms have been remodeled to modern expectations without losing the character of the hotel. Breakfast is excellent & they actually have convenient parking arrangements too. I thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Long weekend stay. So many good points with a 5/5 in many areas for me.The quality of service throughout was exceptional, from reception to the bar and restaurant. Very friendly and efficient staff and the owner went out of his way to assist. Table service breakfast was very good and dinner was first rate, a very high standard. The beds were really comfortable and the secure off site parking provided options that many hotels could not. We will be back during tbe next spell of good weather.

When my husband died I did an ‘away from it all’ no expenses spared stay at the Langham and booked one of the most expensive rooms at the hotel - The Arundel, Executive Double. The room was spacious with a lovely view of the sea. However, when it came to breakfast, as a lone diner presenting myself, Even though I was paying on the double, for two breakfasts and one of the most expensive rooms in the hotel, I was shown to one of the worst tables in the dining room, in a dark, dreary corner - it was presumed would be good enough for me. It seemed the tables in the conservatory extension overlooking the sea were for couples. Ever since I stay at the Grand where they don’t discriminate and treat me as a valued guest.

Pros and cons:

The restaurant was excellent, both breakfast and dinner. I looked in the restaurants of all the decent looking hotels on the front and I am almost certain that the Langham restaurant is a long way ahead of them all, except of course the Grand.

Offsite parking arrangements were good.

Staff were friendly and helpful.

The room was disappointing. It was very small, had the tiniest "double bed" I have ever tried to sleep in, a small TV, small bathroom with shower and no bath, no temperature control. I was only able to get a standard room. The superior rooms may be better.

Rooms are really nice, very very nice. Food in morning breakfast is OK and there's quite a range and opportunity to further your money. However, sometimes it seemed mabye the hotel was for older customers, based on who I saw and how my food came with a cover on it. Also the bar is alright, but no TV to watch sports.
