Superb location, excellent breakfast, the staff, and manager were wonderful. I stayed in a single room which was really comfortable for me. I treated my elderly mother for lunch in the restaurant, which was the best meal that we had at an Eastbourne hotel. This is my second visit to the Langham hotel. I spent a wonderful week at this hotel. When I walk in I immediately feel relaxed. This is a lovely hotel and I will be back. David

All of the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, despite the difficult Covid restrictions. The hotel was beautiful, with a comfy bar, lovely food and wine and clean rooms with very good wifi throughout the hotel. Rarely have I felt so welcome in a hotel.

We visited The Langham on 3.12.20 to celebrate my husband's birthday, having booked a superior sea view room, and were looking forward to a lovely quiet evening sitting by the bay window enjoying the views. It turned out, the room we got (141, I think - first floor in the corner) did not have the bay window, or even a coffee table to sit by - I'm guessing it was too small for that. The double bed was very small as well - I'm only 5'4", and my legs were hanging off the bed. My husband is 6'4", and he had no way to make himself comfortable, really. Also, I'd never seen a 4-star hotel without a proper bedding - the blanket and bed sheet scenario I consider unhygienic at the best of times, nevermind with Covid around. I liked the bathroom, but it would've been nicer with the shower soap rack cleaned off the soap scum. We loved the food, but I concur with the comments about poor quality of the coffee - it tasted like water rather than actual coffee. The lovely waitress made me another one, only marginally better. I think the staff may need a bit more training in that respect, or a good coffee machine.
We really liked the hotel's decor, and enjoyed the dinner, but found the "superior" seaview room rather small and disappointing. We did mention it to the reception staff upon checking out, but all we got was "Oh, sorry to hear that", and some leaflets about the winter offers. It was the first night after the lockdown, and - judging by the breakfast list - only about 7 rooms were taken in the whole hotel, as we found out in the morning, so it feels like we got the worst they could get away with for what we paid, which didn't make s feel very welcome.

If you are looking for an excellent meal in Eastbourne look no further than the Langham Hotel, which is right on the seafront. The restaurant has a wonderfully warm welcome, now with a new cocktail bar, the service is exemplary and with a very varied menu offering delicious food, you could ask for nothing more. Last evening was most enjoyable with great food, excellent live music that did not encroach on our conversation and all at a very reasonable price. Good food and service in the hotel bar during the day too. A hotel and restaurant that deserves this high recommendation. (Living in Eastbourne I personally, have not stayed at The Langham but friends who have gave it a very big "thumbs up")

We went there for my birthday weekend and lashed out on a small suite. It was money well spent because we had a huge bed and a massive room with a bay window looking at the sea about 50 yards away. The decor is absolutely superb. Very nice use of colours but notably in absolutely top condition - not a chip or scuff mark to be seen anywhere. The dining room and the cocktail bar have been decorated recently and it has been done in a very nice art deco style, with beautiful glass art deco features. The £9 a night parking charge was well worth it - a very short walk from the back of the hotel. The food was excellent, from the sandwiches to the evening meal and breakfast. Thus, EVERYTHING about the hotel was the very best it could be, but add to that the staff. Every single one of them was a delight, especially given the uncertainty in the leisure industry at the moment. Nothing was too much trouble and there was always a smile, albeit behind a mask! It seems unfair to name names, but we only got Miguel and Simon - both fantastic but, as I say, the others were just as nice and obliging. The manager of another hotel we stayed at in the summer would do well to get some ideas from here - that cost twice as much and wasn't even 10% as good.

A lovely place to share a cafetiere of coffee with homemade flapjack or shortbread. Sea views, comfy seating and in better weather, a nice terrace.

This was the first time I went to Eastbourne and I am glad that I booked Langham Hotel. Old interior but very authentic feeling. Beautiful furnishings and shower and toilet are spotless. The room I booked was beach facing and the sound of the waves gave the fascinating feeling. Evening breeze from the window is awesome. The complementary breakfast was out of the world and the staff are very welcoming. I must say, restaurant staff make your eating experience super. Even though price is a bit higher, I will definitely stay there whenever I visit again.

Our weekend stay at the Langham far exceeded our expectations. We thought we would get a perfectly serviceable but drab old fashioned seaside hotel -but it was much better than that.

We had a lovely, clean, well appointed room with a glorious sea view - even from the en-suite shower!

The staff were really friendly and accommodating even when we changed our dining arrangements at the last minute. We ate in the bar (we didn’t fancy the live music in the dining room) and when our meal was slightly delayed we were offered complimentary drinks.

Parking nearby is a bit tricky on Saturday evening (the hotel warned us of this when we booked) but we found a space in a nearby street fairly quickly.

In summary we had a great time in a lovely hotel.

Really good. Superb sandwiches and a big cake selection.
Personally I'd prefer more sandwiches and less cake. Beautiful setting. Fantastic service friendly staff and lovely and clean. Felt covid measures were safe

Lets start with all the positives , the room we had was beautiful , I requested one of the rooms with bay windows overlooking the sea , and we got just that . High ceilings , comfy chairs and table in the bay window , large soft bed . Little touches like slippers and robes in the wardrobe, and still toiletries and tea making facilities in the room , which having travelled around quite a bit this year , some places have removed . The option to still have your room made up each day , which we took for our 3 night stay . We booked about 10 days in advance when our Spanish holiday was cancelled last minute, and planned a full on schedule of walking part of the South Downs Way and other adventures.

The room was clean , as was the rest of the hotel. We pre booked parking at the side of the hotel which we felt was well worth it , so as not to have to mess around with pay and display parking on a fairly busy road.

We ate a perfectly acceptable breakfast each morning and had dinner the first night , all in the conservatory , again overlooking the prom .

In fact the only downside was the loud music that rattled through our room one evening for over 2 hours plus and a soundcheck prior to that. We had been out to dinner and wanted to get to sleep early , as we had some early starts planned , however even if we hadn't, I dont expect music to be vibrating through the floorboards of a hotel room ,as we could hear every word from the songs, I phoned reception who apologised , I asked if we could change room but they said no. They said they would ask for it to be turned down , but it made no difference . Luckily the 10pm shutdown was in place , so it did finish at about 9.45pm. It was a shame because otherwise we had enjoyed the visit to this hotel , and if you would be in the bar until closing and this was your type of music , then it wouldn't be a problem for you , but it just isn't what we go away for personally.

Stayed one night solo in a single sea-view room. Great view over the beach to the sea from my room which also had a tiny balcony. Spotlessly clean room and bathroom and comforable (if small) bed. Looked to have been recently decorated. I had dinner in the hotel restaurant (it was raining and town centre isn't particularly close). Good value fixed price menu (£18 two courses, £25 three). Food was pretty good. Breakfast menu quite extensive with everything to order rather than buffet style. Hotel bar prices very reasonable. Service faultless, every staff member I spoke to was polite, friendly and professional.

We hadn’t booked for this visit as it was just for one night to see friends the following day for lunch so we’re pleasantly surprised to be given a side sea view with no extra charge and the room was lovely.
All our meals in the hotel were very enjoyable, my only small gripe was the waitress for breakfast never offered fruit juice or toast which we had to ask for whereas the waiter that served the couple behind us did just that, also enquiring how they wanted their eggs done, a little more training needed perhaps, that aside the food is top quality and very delicious. We have booked again for December as there is a mini pantomime to look forward to.

This was our second visit and we had a fabulous 6 nights in a sea view room with a large bay window. The room was very comfortable and had all the usual extras, tea making, etc.
The food was delicious and we are so glad we booked dinner, bed and breakfast., as every meal was an enjoyable experience. We even returned to the hotel for lunch every day, either in the bar or outside on the front verandah with a sea view.
The staff are friendly, and a credit to the hotel and they make your stay even more enjoyable. Particular mention to Zak, Jazz, Maria, Sue the housekeeper and Louis Migel who served our wine so professionally
We love this hotel and are already looking forward to our next visit, and I would recommend the Langham Hotel to anyone looking for a good quality holiday.
