Just got home from a wonderful weekend stay.
Hired entire hotel for 50th birthday, 112 guests, all stayed. Hotel catered for everything.
Superb 4 course dinner, staff were a well oiled machine, service was excellent. Everyone loved the food and the rooms, have had so many people contact us to thank us for a lovely weekend but it's the staff and owners of the hotel who deserve the applause, they did all the hard work. We just turned up. Thank you Langham Hotel and all the staff for your hard work, you made my husbands 50th party amazing, and looked after all of our guests. THANK YOU!!!!!

I stayed here for one night. It was a single room. It was big enough for my needs. This hotel is ideal for a short stay. Very reasonably priced too. Breakfast very good, and quick too. Note that parking is extra, but not unreasonable.
I will be back in Eastbourne in 6 months. I dare say I'll be staying here again.

My wife and I were looking for a nice getaway in the 1st weekend of January and decided upon this hotel due to the reviews and its position on the promenade.

It was a very cold and windy Saturday when we turned up and the room was ready early. We had a 4 poster room and there were was free port and sherry in the room. the towels were thick and the dressing gowns a bonus. We had very large windows over looking the sea.

The staff were great, there was young lad on the front desk who was extremely polite and the bar staff great. We had a lovely stay.

In the morning the cooked breakfast was delicious! and the young lady that served us was very polite. I would definitely return. Well done to the Langham a delightful private Hotel who care about their customers.

Thanks

So I came to retreat as I needed a bit of me time! The Langham is a lovely venue, nice friendly staff! I stayed I the honeymoon suite and it is actually beautiful just loved it. It's a shame there is only a shower and not a bath but still lovely. The views are phenomenal! GREAT experience Restaurant is lovely limited choice but nice and reasonably priced food. It's such a great Little break I extended my stay.

The only negatives

My room is on the first floor and I can hear the entertainment when I wanted quiet time and unfortunately there was bag pipes playing outside my window and as I was trying to relax this was quite a disturbance and gave me a pounding headache. But this is hardly something that's common I think and re the entertainment it's the first floor so what can be expected.

Room Service
Quite limited options and I feel that the full room service menu should be available until at least 10pm as sometimes you get peckish late or you forget to eat etc and there's really limited option bare minimum of of basic sandwiches after 8pm and that was disappointing as it would make this hotel even more special.

You can't go on the balcony which is such a shame because it is so beautiful and I would have loved to have my coffee out there.

All in all this hotel is a GEM. And I will definitely be returning. Love it!

We moved house at the beginning of December so didn't have much of a Christmas and our 3 night stay at New Year was just what the doctor ordered. We have stayed at the hotel many times over the past few years and Neil Kirby and his wife, Wendy, have made considerable improvements refurbishing most of the hotel. This includes the bedrooms which are tasteful and modern. The hotel is on the seafront so all the front rooms have a wonderful sea view which extends to the pier. The restaurant, has a great menu with plenty of choice for all tastes and always has vegetarian options. The breakfast menu has a wide range of dishes and is a perfect way to start the day. All the extra little touches at New Year together with the entertainment were very noticeable and the trip to the pantomime was great fun. The staff are always very attentive and nothing is too much trouble. There is always such a happy atmosphere amongst the staff which reflects how good the management is. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the hotel at any time of the year.

Unable to rest in the afternoon after a long walk because the hotel was doing refurbishment to some rooms and there was a lot of noise from banging and drilling. I was also bitten on my arm by some sort of bug in the early hours of the morning which caused me a lot of pain and discomfort.

A lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Great location. I am pleased that the hotel offered me a reduction on my overall cost to compensate me for the discomfort I experienced. I would certainly visit this hotel again.

My partner and I have just returned from a three night stay which we thoroughly enjoyed, The room, which overlooked the Channel, was warm, clean and comfortable and the staff were excellent, always helpful and keen to be of service. We ate in the restaurant and found the food extremely good - no need to look elsewhere! We would happily return.

Myself, my Mum and 2 friends went to the Langham Hotel on a coach holiday over Christmas.
What a great time we had!!!
Our twin room was clean, comfortable and well equipped and had everything in it that we required.
The staff were very friendly, courteous and couldn't do enough for us. Everyone worked really hard and Neil and Wendy were excellent hosts.
The extra touches were wonderful, the presents in the room and the gifts from Father Christmas as well as the chocolates and satsumas in the room.
The food was delicious and plentiful (far too much at times) and cooked to a very high standard.
We would highly recommend this hotel and may very well return.

Had 9 lovely nights staying at Langhams Hotel for the Christmas/New Year festivities. It certainly lived up to expectations. Friendly staff, excellent food, charming hosts/owners Neil and Wendy Kirby who actively joined in with the staff to give perfect service and a host of fun activities. We have stayed at the Langhams several times before. We had two single rooms that Langhams actually upgraded to two double newly renovated rooms at no extra cost. I had hoped for a sea view but it was our fault for only booking at the last minute, so lucky to get a room at all. The overall effect is 5 star and not surprising Neil used to be Manager at the Grosvenor Hotel,London- a very interesting rise from basic hotel duties to owning Langhams. He has written a book 'Celebrity Hotel' which tells his fascinating journey in the hotel industry and the famous people he has worked for. Our favourite hotel on the east sussex coast - top quality. We two couples of 40 + years friendship meet up every new year to catch up, this new year was so good we have booked for 2016/17, don't normally return to same place, so need I say more, that's how good we rated if. The panto trip, the little gifts in the room, the really smiley helpful staff made it all special, last but not least in any way, the food was the best we have had on a new year break, the breakfasts were exceptionally good and it was no problem to ask the waiter to mix and match items to suit your taste. The casino and race nights were a good laugh too. We parked in the secure barrack parking, this is two short streets away, you had to ask reception to arrange for someone to meet you to let you in and out, but you never had to wait long for a member of staff to arrive. We had a refurbished room on the third floor which was really lovely, the owner told us more are being done this year.

Just spent two nights at The Langham Hotel between Christmas and New Year. Last minute booking so we could not get a room with a sea view, but the room was very clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was delicious and taken in the conservatory overlooking the sea. Short walk to pier and town one way and marina the other, so plenty to do. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are staying in Eastbourne.

Just come back from a relaxing break at the Langham Hotel in Eastbourne. Hotel has marvellous views of the sea and is wonderfully situated for walks to the nearby marina. Staff are always helpful and unobtrusive . Evening meal was very good value. Thank you to Neil and all the staff

I've always stayed in the Langham Hotel. The hotel has a warm homely feel, the staff are very helpful and the food is excellent and well priced.
I had many hotels in Eastbourne but was always disappointed with standards, service and food. Thankfully a few years ago I discovered the Langham and have stayed there ever since when visiting Eastbourne. The hotel has a warm homely feel, the staff are very helpful and the food is excellent and well priced - don't be fooled by the facades of other hotels, head for the Langham.

Just returned from a fantastic weekend at The Langham Hotel. Upon arrival the staff helped us with our bags out of the car as I have a bad back and took them straight up to our room which overlooked the sea, and what a view. Quite a contrast to our normal nightly noise of cars, all we could hear was the sea breaking in the beach. Food was excellent, staff very attentive and immaculately presented in their uniforms. Hotel very conveniently located and definitely coming back.

Recently stayed for a week half board with my mother and daughter, both of whom have mobility problems. This is a very comfortable hotel with friendly and helpful staff who are always on hand to help. The rooms are very clean with fresh towels provided each day - there was even a fluffy dressing gown provided. Breakfast was very enjoyable with views of the seafront, and we always looked forward to our evening meal which was served by very efficient waiting staff.

We cannot recommend The Langham highly enough and will certainly be visiting again in 2016.

We have been coming here for about 4years now on these xmas nights, yet again goid stay stay room great large with sea view lovely new shower very modern, just a few little niggles we always had a xmas decoration in the middle of the dining table which made it feel very festive these little things make all the difference, but the veggie dinner i think it was a pastry xmas tree, i would have enjoyed eating cardboard more this was very poor its as if you couldent think of anything else to do,so my daughter left most of it, im sure there are better options out there, but even so had a great weekend.

We were in a party of 10 from Paignton in Devon. On arrival the staff took our suitcases from the coach to our rooms. The rooms were a little small and in need of some tlc but the food was first class and the staff very helpful and friendly, all in all a very pleasant stay.

Stayed here recently for a weekend and had a lovely stay. The room was modern and bright and had a sea view which was fantastic. Lovely bathroom with an excellent shower, always lovely and hot. The food was very good and had a lovely afternoon tea and also 2 meals and they were all really tasty. Breakfast is good, not buffet but cooked to order and the staff in the restaurant were really helpful

We stayed at Langham for two nights. The room was ok and the breakfast was good, and the bed was comfortable. It also offers free wifi. But the hotel is so old - old carpets, old furniture, old elevator... It would need a serious revamp in my opinion.

Very good English seaside hotel situated on the promenade with wide spread views. Dinner and Breakfast were waiter served and delicious. Our room - 101 - was spacious and well equipped. Would advise upgrading to a sea view room. nightly entertainment was good but unobtrusive if 'not your thing'

This hotel offers charming comfortable rooms, excellent food and the service is excellent. The owner is very hands on and there is plenty of interesting events throughout the year. It is on the front at Eastbourne and convenient for the shops, buses and theatres.

Lovely hotel with very friendly and attentive staff. Room was gorgeous. Eastbourne is a fantastic place to visit.

We just had the best time. Thank you to everyone.

The only criticism I would have is to spend a bit more money on the full English breakfast, a tad disappointed for such a lovely hotel

Cream tea was amazing.

Had high expectations about this one, having never been to Eastbourne before. Overall, lovely building and warming decor with very polite staff. But....

Whilst aware of parking facilities wasn't aware of the £7.50 cost until arrival.
Whilst including breakfast, wasn't aware of table service until being Seated, which under time pressure is far from ideal.
My heating wasn't working
One the three bulbs had broken so the room was dark.
The shower was tiny, I literally could not move.

A shame as I will be in Eastbourne for work about 6 times a year but I won't be going back.
