Stayed here for a Ladies Night weekend, 5 star service from all the staff from the moment we arrived to the morning we left, very spacious and comfortable sea view room with all amenities required for our stay, very modern on suite bath / shower room, the bed was comfortable with a mattress topper which gave a good nights sleep. The food was excellent from breakfast to the evening meal on Friday night and Banquet Night on Saturday with great service from very attentive staff. We could find no fault with this excellent hotel and would thoroughly recommend it, we enjoyed our stay so much that we will book to stay here again without any hesitation if in the Eastbourne area. Thanks to all the staff, you were brilliant.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Pleasant, well furnished bedroom with comfortable bed. Modern bathroom. Lounge, bar and dining room tastefully furnished. Excellent food, well cooked, nicely presented and hot. (For 95 people ). My lactose free diet was well catered for, especially my desert, which was very inovative and beautifully presented. In fact, the best lactose free desert I have ever had! Complements to the Chef.

I have just returned from a two night stay at the Langham hotel, Eastbourne. The service was second to none, all staff could not do enough for you, all happy and helpful. The food was simply amazing, including the Saturday evening 'Ladies night', where all hot food for over 90 people, was presented piping hot and delivered to very high standards. Snacks in the bar were equally of a high standard. Extremely high class chef and team.
The rooms were beautiful and housekeeping were happy and willing to help you to your room with luggage, loan of iron and iron board.
Reception staff were again of a very high standard, as were all members of the team, regardless of their position were dressed very professionally.
The owner and his wife Neil and Wendy Kirby are a delightful couple, always on hand, checking everything is alight. The hotel and team are a credit to obvious continuous hard work, well done Neil and Wendy.
I would highly recommend this gorgeous hotel.

Afternoon tea at the Langham was excellent. Extremely good service, the food was of a very high standard. Our sandwiches were made to our specifications, the scones were home made , generous portion of butter, jam and clotted cream. The four varieties of cakes were delicious and our pots of tea refreshed on request. Served in the conservatory at proper tables, with a sea view! Will be returning very soon.

I stayed at this hotel on two occasions during the summer and I was lucky have the same room on both occasions, which had a lovely sea view on the third floor. I enjoyed the food very much and staff were very friendly and polite.

We enjoyed a lovely 3 course meal, selecting from the Table D'Hote menu, accompanied by a very good house wine. The food was well cooked, portions very generous, staff attentive and friendly. We finished by having coffee in the lounge, and looking out over the sea. What better way to start the afternoon!

I stayed with my mum for the weekend, although there was a large function going on also, the staff were wonderful, attentive, polite and helpful. A nice size room with a compact but spacious bathroom..all the amenities were in there but it didn't feel cramped. The food was delicious too.

We had a deluxe room with sea views. The room was clean and both the room and bathroom had been nicely refurbished. The shower pressure was not the best.

Breakfast was enjoyable, the kippers were excellent.

Be careful to book the restaurant in advance, as we could not dine in house on that night which was disappointing

Also book parking in advance as is very limited

The hotel is privately owned by Neil and Wendy Kirby and they take a personal delight in making their guests feel welcome. The staff are exceptionally well trained and offer help with a smile whenever needed. Neil is a hands on manager and owner, he told me it was he who cooked my delicious plaice.

Visited the Langham for a Masonic weekend at the end of September this year. I have to say that the owners, Neil and Wendy and every single member of their staff were fantastic and so helpful. As an illustration of the service the staff offer, I give you this small anecdote. Two men in our party were talking about ironing shirts for the Saturday evening whilst standing at the bar while their drinks were being served. The barmaid behind the bar heard their conversation and asked if they wanted an iron and ironing board taken to their rooms. They of course answered in the affirmative. Ok said the barmaid and continued serving their drinks. The men moved away from the bar to join their friends and a few minutes later were interrupted by the barmaid to tell them that an iron and ironing board had just been put in their rooms. So how’s that for service?

We have visited the Langham on several occasions and each time we have loved our visit. The whole experience is fabulous, the staff are always happy, friendly and willing to assist with anything you need - the restaurant is absolutely top notch, the food, presentation, speed, cleanliness- breakfast is served to you rather than a buffet style, the 3 course dinner option is a must try. You won't be disappointed !!
The rooms are lovely with eveything you need, the bar area is a great place to relax with good food also being available. In the summer months there is a lovely outside seating area to enjoy the views, in the winter the hotel is equally as enticing.
Neil Kirby and his family run the hotel and are just the nicest people you will meet, always there to shake your hand, take time to chat and to make your stay just perfect.
Can't wait to return again very soon.

Visited for a Sunday jazz lunch. Fabulous food, excellent service, and reasonably priced drinks. Upgraded to a lovely sea view room. They had been full the night before, so rooms weren't ready on arrival.......it was only 12,and check in wasn't until 2.30 but they kindly offered us a room if we wanted to change. Room comfortable and immaculately clean and quiet too with the sound of the sea to lull us to sleep. Breakfast cooked to order which we think is a refreshing change from the usual buffet style. Served in the sea view conservatory. Just booked for January Burns Lunch, and stay overnight. Special mention to the night porter who very willingly poured us drinks when we were the only people left in the bar......nice guy.

I booked a "superior room" hoping for a sea view to awake looking at a car park instead of the sea. The room was perfectly satisfactory. The breakfast was produced cost consciously; a single dry sausage accompanied a single bacon and egg

Event: Ladies Festival - so staying Friday through to Sunday with evening events.

Staff: welcoming,friendly and solicitous.

Room: clean, tidy and smelt pleasant. The bathrooms seem to have recently been upgraded, new tiling and grouting. The rain showers are great and as a shorter person I appreciated the shower cap as not getting my head wet was not an option. I had a single room that judging from the ceiling mouldings was a hive off of a larger one. Though tiny it was adequate to my needs as I was only in it to prep for the evenings and sleep.
Parking: This is off site and a short walk back to the hotel. It is free and secure (behind a fence and gates with controlled entry) but they do not feature it highly on their website.

View/Position: I had a front bedroom view of the beach, which was great and decent blinds to stop the sun waking me in the morning as the hotel faces east. The hotel has nothing in front of it save the road and the sea with a convenient crossing point to one side. Its position is only a 10 minute walk from the main shopping area and five from an excellent ice cream parlour.

Entertainment: The band provided for the Saturday night was excellent and had most on the floor - even a few guys! Friday night casino was the only let down. We were a group of c65 and with two small tables - one roulette one blackjack I never successfully got to play on either with my monopoly money. And I was not the only one. The hotel could have made more of the theme with drapes (velcro'd in place say so non-permanent) to give it a more bond theme/feel.

OH dear ... room the size of a large shoe box, decor from a by gone era and evening entertainment to make you cringe, there was only waitress service breakfast (no buffet) which was very fat ridden and not very tasty, a leaking roof in the conservatory. All in all felt as if I was in a time warp - the staff are really friendly but I am afraid that wouldn't be enough to ever tempt me back!

Well, what can I say, a wonky bed and reheated room service food. Extremely let down. The staff however has been really lovely. Let's just hope I don't get charged for that rock hard burger... One very good point though. The view. I never tire of looking out to sea

Stayed here for one night to attend a celebration. Great location by the sea, very well trained and attentive staff and considering the numbers catered for, very good three course meal. Had a sandwich lunch too which was good value though the bread a bit dry and uninspiring. The breakfast was fully served which saves scrabbling around serving yourself but does mean you can't choose the quantities you want! Full English a bit lacking...if I went again I'd specify exactly what I want and I am sure they would accommodate that! Oh, and coffee very weak.....
Rooms adequate but small.....no view from ours and by the extractor fan so smelt breakfast cooking on waking. No family room available so had to have two rooms which despite being consecutive numbers were not next to each other....had to go down a flight of stairs!
All in all a very well run hotel but would not stay for more than a night or two.

We booked relatively last minute having never stayed in Eastbourne before and we were extremely surprised to have landed up staying at what must be one of the best hotels in Eastbourne. Friendly staff from the point of arrival. The room was decorated very well and had everything we needed. Beautiful views to write home about. There was a function on in the evening but this did not disturb us in any way and no noise could be heard in our room further up. We enjoyed a beverage in the bar, listening to the sea and didn't want it to end! Our only regret is not trying out the restaurant as the town doesn't have too many good restaurants around.

In the day, we took a single journey on the X12 bus from the Pier up to Beachy Head, had a spot of lunch and took the hell raising option of the walks back to Eastbourne seafront. It was very exhilarating and the walk was approx 1hr but we stopped often to look at the views (and the sheer drops!). We enjoyed the stroll along the long seafront, taking in the Victorian theatre and an ice cream. The following day we visited the Redoubt Fort, literally across the road from the hotel. The Wish Tower was also open but we had not booked in advance and so viewed this from outside.
All in all, Eastbourne was a real eye opener. Not old and stuffy by any means and definitely a place we will come back to and we will be returning to the Langham!

We stayed at his hotel as part of a very enjoyable bowling holiday. The rooms were very clean and comfortable (we upgraded to a sea view room, well worth the extra) the view was very nice. The restaurant service was very good, and the food was well cooked and presented, though at breakfast self service and more variety with the cereals would be good (I like to choose how much I want not to be given a full bowl of cereal which is overwhelming). The staff were very helpful and you felt your comfort was their aim nothing was too much trouble. I would go again, but if self service was not an option and forgo the cereals.

Allo Allo
I have stayed at this hotel before and would go again. The Allo Allo evening was fantastic, the food was brilliant as was the breakfast each morning.
Couple of little moans. The brown sauce bottles at breakfast could have the old tried sauce wiped off. And the price. We paid only £45 less for the second night; but on the first night we had a wine reception, four course meal with coffee and the Allo Allo show, I was just a little surprised but it did not deter us from having a fantastic weekend. We have asked to be put on the stand-by list for the New Year period.
Great Hotel with great staff.

My first non-business visit to Eastbourne. Wish I'd found the Langham earlier.... one of the best in its class. Lovely hotel, attentive and polite staff, nice food, clean room although a bit small.......will come again, for longer.

Stayed four nights with a bowls tour. The hotel is only a ten minute walk, or fifteen at a slower pace, from the pier and a few more minutes to the town center. Our room was facing the sea front (paid extra to ensure this) and was clean and well decorated. Our only gripe was the bed was quite firm. The bathroom was small but it had everything we needed. There is only a small lift, but we wanted the exercise so used the stairs mostly. It was busy here, so it must be popular. The food was delicious, in fact outstanding, and served by waitress staff who were efficient, attentive and very friendly. Overall it was a wonderful to place to stay. Highly recommended.

This Hotel is excellent. Service, Food , and cleanliness. Staff most helpful. Bed room was rather small but very warm and cosy no problem. Will certainly return. One of the best hotels I have stayed in England for a long time. Price excellent too for what you receive.
