I've wanted to find a good Indian in Eastbourne for years, so was thrilled to discover Mayalalam. Lovely restaurant with great service, and very tasty and different food. Particularly recommend the starters.

This is a great place to eat. The food is amazing and the staff are lovely. We have eaten in a few places during our week in Eastbourne and this is the best. I would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Excellent food. Highlight was our mains - the prawn curry, aubergine curry and paratha left us feeling very satisfied.

A real gem of a place, fabulous South Indian restaurant with a great menu. I had the specials which were spectacular and the other 3 of us chose from the main menu. Which was also great. Staff were so helpful and would hghly recommend.

I pretty much said it in the title.....nothing at all fancy, no great wine list.....but very nice simple food, intelligently spiced, and great value for money. And very good service. We went twice over two successive weekends, and a lot of the reason for the return visit was the service we received both times from a personable and professional young man named Stanley. He was very helpful describing dishes (spice levels were a concern for one of our party) and making sure we had enough food (we had a time issue so needed to order enough in one go). All good!
One piece of advice for the owner and staff....the second trip we sat outside.....and it was pretty filthy. Clean it up!!!!

Oh boy, what refreshing change from the usual curry house. 1st class service and the food is amazing. From pre starters to starters and mains. Friendly advice from our waiter too. Who thought fish in a banana leaf could ever taste that good.....

Welcoming staff and amazing food. First time my partner had sampled South Indian food and is now keen for more after sampling Masala dosa and delicious fish curry with lemon rice. We dined here prior to going to a show and the staff made sure we had plenty of time. Attentive, friendly service throughout. Looking forward to returning as soon as possible! Highly recommend.

Popped in for lunch, ordered the set menu with the Dosa. Excellent meal, fresh and tasty. I would recommend this meal to anyone. Outdoor seating at the front of the restaurant with the sun out is wonderful.

I went with my family to Malayalam and the food was fantastic and transported us to places we had never been to! The lamb biriyani cooked in a banana leaf was incredible and it was a wonderful evening!

We visited this restaurant for the first time on 13th August. It was a last minute choice as we were going to a show and did not have long. Stanly the waiter was very understanding and efficient. We had the meal and still made the show. We had not tried Kerala food before and were really impressed by the choice and flavours. A very good meal, would highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely be returning but this time when we have more time to appreciate the extensive menu.

Food was delicious. Can highly recommend the masala dosa and vada. Friendly service and accommodating, considering we hadn't booked. Thanks also to Stanley our server who was attentive and helpful with his food suggestions. Yum!

Wonderful food as always.. completely different from an ordinary Indian restaurant...the waiter Swanly was charming and explained the menu...and he was very happy and cheerful..and inquired if we were pleased with our food...We will definitely be returning

Visited this restaurant for an early evening meal and couldn't fault it. The service was fantastic, the staff were so helpful and the food was delicious. I have recommended this restaurant to friends and will definitely be back next time we're in town.

The food was delicious, really lovely spices.
I was particularly impressed as I am allergic to nuts, and the waitress knew the menu so well she was able to say which items included ingredients from factories that handled nuts!
Service was good, and staff all wore face coverings which was reassuring.

The food here is amazing. It’s so flavoursome and well-spiced. It smells wonderful as soon as you walk in and tastes even better! It’s also a great location, right by the seafront. The staff were lovely and helpful too.
