After enjoying a visit to a Turkish restaurant whilst in Devon we thought we'd try and find one locally so visited Meze. Parking can be a challenge, but don't let that put you off. On arrival you receive a warm welcome, advice on all dishes, and nothing is a problem. The food is excellent, reasonably priced and the whole experience faultless. On seeing my wife struggle with her fish, the chef came over and took it all off the bone for her, she didn't have to ask, he saw her having difficulties and immediately offered to help her - what great customer service. The best compliment that I can pay the restaurant is that we would take family and friends there, and we now have. They also throughly enjoyed their meals and the whole experience and would visit again, as shall we.

Booked for four of us and were warmly welcomed into the restaurant. Bread, olives and
garlic butter arrived along with our drinks, followed by some delicious extra freebie of some pizza type bread with delicious spicy minced lamb on top.
We had lamb kebabs which is all cooked in front of you and was perfection. The meat was really succulent. Food was plentiful and well presented. The service was excellent.It seemed a very popular place as it was incredibly busy. I thought it was good value for money too.

Just got back from Istanbul but the food in Mezze is much better than the food there .

A group of my former work colleagues meet periodically for a dinner. The latest event was here on a recent Friday evening (reservation having been made). We we warmly welcomed to the restaurant and shown to our table. We sought advice on the menu and settled on mixed meze to start for all and made our own choice for the main. Most of us settled for beer to accompany but two of us had the Turkish red, which turned out to be very acceptable. In terms of the food, the meze were nicely presented though I felt perhaps the quantity could have been greater. Against this it has to be admitted that the number of items provided was impressive, this allowing a range of tastes. Generally it was very good, though I felt perhaps the tabbouleh needed more herbs. As to he main course, I had the sebze kebab as a vegetarian. I had no problems with the cooking or quantity, but thought it was somewhat bland and rather unambitious, being something I could approximate at home quite easily (other vegetarian dishes are available). However my carnivorous companions seemed very happy with their choices . Service was very good. The bill was on the higher side of what we usually pay.

This is consistently good....and should be in the top 5 at least. Though I doubt they are too bothered because it's usually too busy now! It is great to see your food cooked on the charcoal right in front of you and service is quiet and professional. The bread you get on arrival is superb....and should be used more. We would like to see more specials, a bit more variety as the menu has not changed much in 16 years. However, it's a great place even though not in the best area! Get some!

Myself and six family members went to Eastbourne yesterday for a day out - starving at lunch time we tried to find somewhere to eat. We stumbled upon Meze off of the main strip of restaurants and we were pleasantly surprised! I can't fault it! The food was cooked to perfection, the portions were really big which suited our group! The design of the restaurant was really nice. The best part of the experience were the staff! So attentive! We were checked on numerous times, and they were so polite!! Such a nice change to actually feel like restaurant staff want to make sure you have a nice experience and you can stay for as long as you like, not rushed at all! Highly recommend!

Managed to get a table Saturday night. My partner is celiac and the waiter couldn't have been more helpful explaining what she could and couldn't have. Food delivered quickly and freshly cooked despite a full restaurant. Really can't fault anything.

It took us a while to find somewhere nearby to park, but it was worth it. We went for dinner one evening when on a short break in Eastbourne and wanted a change from the 'chips with everything' menus along the sea front. There was a good selection of our favourite Turkish dishes ; food was prepared in an open area so you could watch the chefs and not surprisingly the quality was excellent. Portions are generous; we each had a meze selection platter and struggled to eat a main dish afterwards. Polite and friendly service and reasonable prices. I'd happily eat there again.

Had dinner at Meze tonight while on a weekend away in Eastbourne. What a find this little place was. Simple and cozy inside, the staff were lovely and friendly from the minute we walked in the door. There was a misunderstanding with the ordering of one of our main courses and although we really weren't bothered and happy to wait for the correct dish to be made, they were very apologetic and brought us an additional starter and more bread so we weren't left waiting and hungry. So kind and attentive.
The food was amazing. Cooked on the charcoals behind our table, everything was fresh and good quality. The lamb was gorgeous!Thank you for a very lovely meal in a very friendly restaurant. We will be back next time we visit Eastbourne

A little rough around the edges decor wise but you can fault the excellent service and most wonderful barbecued meat....Great sharing plate at £29 enough for two people with very good value wine .Wonderful service from Varuk who could have not been better with great back up from his team....very good value on Moët champagne which was served iced cold to celebrate the cricket win ...good vibe in the restaurant and comes highly recommended

Great real authentic Turkish food. Amazing selection and flavours. Cooked over real charcoal pit. Make sure you are hungry as you get alot of food for your money. Monday night and it was busy. Local Turkish people were eating there. Yoou will not be disappointed a great place to eat and reasonable priced.

Had to visit this restaurant again. The welcome and the food are second to none. We were given a small Turkish pizza before we ordered. Everything is freshly prepared and the quality is superb. Hopefully see you next year

If you're looking for traditional Turkish cuisine in Esstbourne, this is definitely the right place. Love the clay oven for the kebabs, the free typical appetizers. Also the owners were very welcoming. Not giving 5 because a little bit expensive for the quantity.

We really enjoyed our mix of hot and cold meze starters - really fresh and well presented. The mains were just as good, with big portions of steaming hot delicacies, including the mixed grilled kebab. All accompanied by loads of delicious Turkish bread. Well worth a visit.

I go there every so often with my friend. We love the place , atmosphere, their food is lovely. Even you can’t eat better then their food in Turkey. I highly recommend to everyone. Go and try their delicious grills ,Meze’s , Lahmacun and many other delicious thing. Also they have got very good services, food is coming on time. It is a great family run Restaurant.

We went to Eastbourne to celebrate my birthday and my wife and I were taken to this wonderful restaurant by our son and his wife. The menu had plenty of choice and the food was superb and plentiful, which made up in part for the hotel food we were offered. I wish we had known about this place earlier as we would have eaten here each night !!

We booked a table for 7pm but when we arrived early we were welcomed with open arms.This cosy restaurant is totally amazing, I felt I was back in Turkey. We were given bread, olives, garlic butter and feta as a compliment.Our waiter was so lovely and although it got very busy he had time for everyone. Nothing was too much trouble.Would highly recommended this restaurant on all levels. You watch the chief cook your food from fresh and are served with a smile. 5*

This is the second time I’ve been to meze and it hasn’t had any faults so far. Those of you visiting Eastbourne, Meze is worth a visit. You get what you pay for, the meat is so tender and cooked professionally each time. I had karisik kebab, mixed kebab with bulgar wheat pide bread, grilled vegetables and yoghurt with the amazing onion salad. Such a gem of a restaurant we have in Eastbourne. We did have a payment issue at the end as we unfortunately got given the wrong bill, luckily it was sorted very quickly. I will be back in the near future.

Have been coming to this restaurant for many years went again recently with my sons for 1 of thems birthday celebratory dinner .
