The decor is homely, a bit funky and they have great colour combinations -a beautiful blue. The staff are so lovely - they really care about your eating experience - so refreshing to see this in a restaurant. Great waiter - his name was Igor. Food was really fresh and delicious. Thank you so much. Had a great time.

We ate here on the Friday evening of the tennis week. It was very, very, busy but we were found a table and after ordering some wine and olives, a suitable time lapsed whilst we decided what to have. The menu is vast. Our food was delivered well presented and hot and thoroughly enjoyed by us both.

Wide range of well-prepared Italian food with two and three course deals at competitive prices. Wine list good, and several options of by the glass or half bottles. Service is prompt and friendly, without long wait for bill. Packed with professional tennis players when the Eastbourne tournament is on - including the Italians!

A group of 10 of us booked for a 9pm meal withonly a couple of hours notice and were made to feel very welcome. It's a huge restaurant and busy and bustling with customers and staff. We opted for the set menu as it was such good value and for £12 for 3 courses how could you complain? The a'la carte menu looked great - a huge amount of choices.

We called in on Monday evening at approximately 8.30pm without a reservation, completely forgetting that it is tennis week in Eastbourne. The place was absolutely heaving. However within minutes the Proprietor welcomed us with his usual professionalism, showed us to a table, gave us menus and took a drinks order. We were served swiftly by the extremely efficient staff. The quality of the food was, as always, very good. It is not often that one can get such a professional service with smiles in a place that is so busy. Well done Pomodoro e Mozzarella. We will be back!

In the last few weeks I have twice visited at a busy time during Saturday lunchtimes. On each occasion almost all tables were already occupied. When the waiter showed me to a table I said that I did not need a menu, as I would like a glass of lemonade and a pizza fiorentina (same both times; they are very good). Each time I had my drink and food on the table within 10 minutes - I understand that a pizza only takes 19 seconds in a proper woodfired oven, which they have - and they are as good as any that I have had in the UK.
As I was in a hurry I asked for my bill, and had paid and left within a few minutes. As I have said in previous reviews, the food and service are always reliable, but I had not tried them before with such limited time, and I am really impressed.

Go here a lot as the atmosphere is friendly, always a welcome from the owner, food is always excellent and a varied choice of menu reasonably priced. Would highly recommend it. Also I have been going there for a number of years there and the staff have generally stayed the same which shows to me it is also a happy place to work and they are always cheerful and welcoming too and nothing is to much trouble.

I am a resident of eastbourne and have eaten here a number of times. Each time is absolutely perfect and cannot recommend this restaurant enough. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is always good and the staff are all amazing, nothing is ever too much trouble. I have never visited somewhere with such consistently outstanding service and delicious food. If you have never tried this restaurant, you are missing out!

Came here as a large group and after a little playing around they managed to get a table for all 12 of us.
We had a bit of mix of starters, the Minestrone soup was a meal in itself, the muscles were delicious and would have also be delightful as a mains, and everyone enjoyed what they ordered.Pasta was lovely and fresh and anti-pasta dishes such as chicken and liver were declared "best had in ages" by resident professor!!
Word of warning about the Calzone, they are huge. It took two people to make a decent sized dent in it.Overall we had a great time and anytime I'm back in Eastbourne will definitely be back.

My husband and I have visited this restaurant many times in the past and have always enjoyed tasty good value meals. We went again on Saturday 31st May and once again enjoyed our experience. We were greeted at the door and shown to a table and offered a chair for my foot to rest on as I am currently recovering from surgery. Very helpful! We opted for the three course lunch menu, my husband enjoyed his usual choice of of Bruschetta Al Pomodoro, Spaghetti Bolognaise and Tiramisu, I had a Insalata Di Gamberetti which was beautifully presented, Branzino Alla Livornese (sea bass) finishing with Bigne al Cioccolato (profiteroles filled with ice cream with chocolate sauce. All of which were of good quality and artistically presented.
The bill for our entire meal, including drinks and coffees was thirty eight pounds. I have eaten meals costing more than double this and enjoyed them less. The restaurant is spottlesly clean and efficiently run. We will continue to eat at the Pomodoro e Mozzarella on our visits to Eastbourne.

Menu is mainly pasta and pizzas but other main courses on offer. Good value lunch menu. Very friendly staff. When the restaurant is busy (Fridays and Saturdays) the service can be a bit slow due to the volume of people, but the food is worth the wait.

Friendly service. More children in this restaurant than its sister 2 doors down. Food pretty good quality, simple Italian at reasonable prices. A good pre-theatre place.

This restaurant is the best in town. Great choice of food, great food and drink prices and conveniently positioned between the shops and sea front. Very popular with visitors and locals. A "must" when visiting Eastbourne.

Large menu of Italian staples - pasta, pizza etc. We opted for Pasta and got good sized, tasty servings. Puddings are attractively served and just the right size.

Genuinely good service especially with children, ok food, value for money set menu. Seems to be the cheaper of the two Italian restaurants next to each other (la locanda del duca) but same owner? Got a 10% discount from a leaflet from b&b

We went here for a 2 course meal back at the beginning of May and were quite disappointed considering all the good reviews.
The only good thing was the olives! Unfortunately the rest of our dinner was average. The service wasn't that great either... Some of the staff were obviously very busy, but also rude! There was only one member of staff that was actually nice.
I was expecting better service and better food because of all these reviews! Such a shame, maybe we caught them on a bad day!

From the warm welcome at the door the superb service and fabulous meal this restaurant cannot be beaten. The really good sign was that it was full and buzzing, we had no booking but they soon found a table for us?

Food is delicious, to a very high standard, not like the typical bland and safe Italian dishes offered in other restaurants. A great selection of dishes, lovely wine menu. The service is friendly and attentive without being overbearing or intrusive. The gluten free menu is not just for show, there is a great selection of dishes, you can pretty much have anything gf you just need to ask your waiter. (My sister is ceoliac and says that the gf pizza is the best she has ever eaten)The wait for food is just the perfect time to have a nice conversation without feeling rushed or becoming impatient for the next course.
The ambience is very meditteranean, it really feels like I am on holiday when I dine here! I generally tend not to stick to the same restaurants (as variety is the spice of life) but I have found myself returning almost on a weekly basis as the food is so delicious and the experience such a nice one!
Ps the prices are very good, in fact I think it's a bit cheaper than some of the chain Italians.

Went to Eastbourne for a day out with friends. We're looking for an Italian restaurant and had several choices. Walked a few more steps and did not regret it.
The staff was great, very helpful and attentive but never intrusive. The food was fabulous! Presentation of the food was very good. Will surely come back here next time we are at Eastbourne.

We were treated to a meal at Pomodoro just after Christmas 2013. It was a reasonably busy lunchtime service, yet the staff were attentive and very friendly.
The choice of food was great and catered for all tastes, pizzas for the youngsters and more intricate meals for the grown-ups. All served quickly and beautifully prepared.
I really enjoyed this meal & the restaurant and hope to eat here again soon.

Went in for lunch today, staff were fantastic. Attentive but left you to your own devices until they were needed. Food was brilliant. Pizza Gabriele (mine) was lovely, definitely going to have it again. Partner had gluten free linguine (Lots of GF stuff on the menu!) with prawns and a saffron cream sauce, looked as good as it tasted. Don't miss it. Complete gem for couples or families!

My family and I went for a weekend away to Eastbourne. On the first night we went here as it was close to our hotel and recommended to us by hotel staff. We all enjoyed our food so much that we went back here on the second night. Staff are friendly and attentive and the food is amazing! I would recommended this to anyone in the Eastbourne area.

Pomodore is a very nice Italian restaurant. The food and service is very good. The pizza's are baked in a traditional Italian oven.
