Being a new "local" decided to pay a visit. What a lovely theatre. I was transported back to the hayday of what it must have been like to attend music halls. The staff were lovely. Will definitely be paying a visit again

Staff at venue very helpful no programme for the event we attended which was very disappointing.
But the show itself was great.

I found the box office extremely helpful. Our seats were excellent and reasonably priced. The show was great - this was reflected in the audience reactions. We entertained a friend from London, who found the evening more successful in many ways, that trips to London Theatres.
With the Congress Theatre closed for eighteen months I really hope that the Hippodrome reaps some rewards from this closure.

We attended the Pantomime in April with granddaughters aged 7 and 8. Although the programme was two and half hours, the action was non stop and the children loved it. Joey and Silly Billy were great fun and were talked about for days afterwards. Everyone had very good voices and the songs were great. Amazing that so much could be achieved by such a small cast. Can't wait for the next one.

We recently visited tonsee Rapunzel Rocks, myself and my two daughters. The seats were comfy (although looking a little tatty in places), the staff were friendly and helpful. The tickets were reasonably priced, as were programmes and snacks (although sweets were far cheaper from the shop over the road.). The show we saw had me crying with laughter, and my daughter's on the edge of their seats in excitement. A great afternoon and I would highly recommend it.

I took my daughters and grandchildren to see this show as we had all enjoyed Treasure Island by the same company last year. It didn't disappoint! Great family entertainment. We all laughed so much right from my 4 year old grandson to myself ( good deal older)! The company struck the perfect balance for entertaining us all which isn't easy. A triumph!

My 3 year old thought it was great and has spent a lot of time talking about rapunzel rocks since. We came and watched stick man so knew that the cinema was great for front row seats

Visited for a show on Larry Grayson and I really was not very enamoured with the production. The premises is rather strange, the entrance consisting of one set of doors in the middle of a tatty row of shops. Inside it is obviously run on the shoestring, with most if not all of the staff apparently being volunteers with all the advantages and disadvantages that entails. The auditorium is very Victorian, and reasonably well preserved, the bar fairly small and not really like a theatre bar at all. I'm amazed in a moderate sized town with three theatres it has survived, but deserves credit for doing so.I think for many years it ran budget variety shows catering for coach loads of pensioners. Would I go back ? With the right show probably yes.

Electric concert by Tenors Unlimited, called the ‘Rat Pack of Opera’. This trio – Paul, Scott and Jem – perform an eclectic array of songs everything from serious opera such as “La Donna E Mobile” and “The Pearl Fishers Duet” to popular songs such as “Volare” and “Moon River”. They demonstrate amazing talent and harmonies as they move from song to song, interspersed with great humour and interaction with the audience. Other songs include Freddie Mercury’s “Granada”, Sting’s “Fragile” and songs written by Tenors Unlimited themselves including “Viva La Vita” and “Senze di Te”. They were joined by two local choirs – The Archway Group and St Andrew’s Prep School, both of which performed their own numbers and supported Tenors Unlimited on several songs. This included “Nessun Dorma” which was very moving. I’d definitely see these guys again – they are amazing! The Royal Hippodrome was an excellent venue, very friendly welcome, dramatic lighting and excellent sound quality.

My third visit to the smaller of Eastbourne Theatres. Not the smartest part of town but a beautiful original theatre inside with a fantastic atmosphere. We saw Beauty and The Beast. Very professional production and very enjoyable.
