Lovely old building. There seems to be a lot more local shows than there used to be.
Just watch where you are seated-donĀ“t get behind a pillar.

I have been twice now to this lovely Theatre. I have seen the seaside special and the Matt Monro show. Both evenings were a very enjoyable one
The Theatre has a good atmosphere to it.There is a bar there and you can even order drinks to your seat.
There are more shows that I plan to see there and would recommend to anyone who fancies a nice evening out.

smelt very musty I know it is dated but I have visited theatres the same age and the standards were higher (enjoyed the show though)

Now partilaly restored, the venue offers Summer shows twice a week, with occasional 'specials' Good prices, especially for groups and popular with coach parties.

A wonderful evening was enjoyed with comedian, dancers, and singers. A really great show for a low price. I would go again if given the chance. Recommend it for a good laugh and singalong.

Have been to the Seaside special show plus several of the Saturday shows. All have been excellent. Well done to the RHT who are working so hard voluntarily to keep this theatre going.

Lovely theatre which deserved to be saved and the production was first class. Interval drinks served at your seats and ordered at your seats.

my dad loved it and the comedian was really funny, although it was an amateur cast they pulled off an old fashioned variety night. They are doing a great job of renovation and keeping the place going

Went to the Royal Hippodrome Theatre to watch the Summer Variety show. Very old theatre in need of work but the staff were really friendly. Great ambience - like the old Victorian days I imagine. Singing and dancing was fantastic particulalry liked the final number - could not get the song out of my head for the next few days. Comedian was good - close to the knuckle - but funny and the rest of the (older) audience seemed to like him too. All round good entertainment and worth the ticket price in my view.

This show is performed by Local and professional singers and dancers with some local children and comedian/ventriloquist Alan Reed.
It is a must to see - it includes singing, dancing and comedy - very enjoyable for anyone aged 18+. The show is on every Tuesday and Wednesday evening from now till October 2nd.
The staff make you feel very welcome and are extremely helpful.
The theatre itself is celebrating 130 years this year and although small is a fantastic place to go to see a show.
With 4000 reviews of hotels on this site it amazes me that no one has reviewed this theatre before and only a few have reviewed other theatres in Eastbourne and I wonder what everyone else did here.
If you are coming to Eastbourne I would recommend you go see the show and also look at what other shows the Royal Hippodrome Theatre, the Congress Theatre and Devonshire Park Theatre are showing while you are here as there is nearly always something on for everyone to see.
No visit to Eastbourne is complete without going to see a show at one of the theatres here.
