Fantastic food, great staff and the best Thai in Eastbourne. A must visit if you are in the area. Lovely atmosphere, very clean, not too expensive and tasty food.

Assuming their takeaway is representative of the food in general, sadly it has to be reported as utterly unremarkable. Starters were like some pre-packed things you might buy at ASDA if they were on special and your kids were badgering you to get them. The red duck curry was utterly lacking in flavour and depth. The Singapore noodles were wet (a definite no-no - trust me, I know good Singapore noodles when I see them) and a pretty measly portion. Sweet and sour salmon was gloopy and the fish tough - didnā€™t taste fresh. The beef salad was zingy and spicy - probably the best dish of the evening. I wouldnā€™t order from here again without trying another place.

I was unlucky in that this place was too busy to get a table, so we had a takeaway. Wonderful food and helpful staff, ensuring I had enough cutlery and serviettes. Great value for the quality of food - large vegan choice too

Had dinner here last night and it was excellent in every way. Staff, covid protocol and ambiance were outstanding. The chef very clearly loves food.

We booked a table at the Sabaidee Thai Restaurant during our staycation in Eastbourne. Due to the ā€œEat Out to Help Outā€ scheme, they had limited availability but we were able to secure a table for early evening.
We arrived at 17:00 during which time the restaurant was very quiet with only one other couple dining. We were welcomed by one of the staff but there seemed to be some confusion regarding our booking. We were stood awkwardly in the doorway for 10 minutes while the staff went back and forth trying to find us a table. We were finally seated and it was another 10 minutes before we were brought menus. The service did eventually improve once we had ordered.
For starters we had Por Pia Ped (roasted duck in crispy pastry with hoi sin sauce) and Sateh Gai (satay chicken skewers). The service was quick and both dishes were served piping hot. The satay sauce was pleasant with a mild and fresh coconut undertone and the hoi sin sauce was sweet and fragrant. Overall the starters were enjoyable but nothing spectacular.
For mains we had the Weeping Tiger (slices of grilled sirloin steak with ā€œSabaidee special spicy sauceā€), Chicken Pad Thai and Coconut Rice. Unfortunately the Weeping Tiger was disappointing. The steak was gristly, tough and tasteless (I expect quite a cheap cut of meat). The ā€œSabaidee special spicy sauceā€ (Soy Sauce with lemongrass, coriander and chilli) was flavoursome and the redeeming feature of the dish. The Chicken Pad Thai and Coconut Rice were both pleasant with a good balance of flavours and good size portions. All dishes were served piping hot and well presented.
As the evening progressed the restaurant became increasingly busy and we started to question the Covid-Secure measures (closely packed tables, no ventilation, and staff not wearing masks or visors as they served table to table).
As part of the ā€œEat Out to Help Outā€ scheme we received 50% off the bill, which made the meal affordable. On reflection, I would have been disappointed if I had paid full price for the hit-and-miss quality of the food and average service received during our visit.

Booked in advance and had hoped to get an outdoor table - turns out they don't care if you've taken the time to book and don't give you a greater choice of seating. So we sat inside. This would have been okay if the tables were all appropriately spaced and there was an ounce of ventilation. There was hand sanitiser, but what good is that going to do if you have someone cough with no through-flow of air to prevent droplets from lingering? I feel a problem with the night we went was that the Eat out to Help out offer was on, rendering it way busier than what Sabaidee could handle. This was evident from the service that took way longer than it should have done, for example: from asking for the bill to actually paying the bill and leaving; it took 30 minutes. It wasn't as enjoyable as the last time I went and reviewed 2 years ago. However, the food itself is excellent and would probably be an excellent place to get a takeaway from. Overall, I feel sorry that Sabaidee aren't able to offer their service at full capacity.

there were eight of us who dined at this Thai restaurant. We booked in in advance due to the COVID pandemic and luckily we did because it was so busy! The staff were friendly and helpful nd really great atmosphere! The food was very good too. It was reasonably priced I thought. Would definitely recommend

Lovely food, social distancing was not apparent, only got offered one drink, we finished the meal and before being asked if we wanted a dessert we were given the bill and asked to leave as there was someone else waiting for our table. Not overly impressed with that, in fact this has never happened to me before anywhere.

We had never been before but thought we would do the government eat out to help out to give them a try.
The food was gorgeous the service was great until..It was an hour and a half after we arrived , weā€™d just finished our main (after having starters as well) they Immediately cleared our plates and put the bill straight down on our table and said the next people are here
No asking if we wanted dessert or coffee Or if we even wanted the bill or an apology. Essentially we were kicked out and felt rushed
We had no idea there was a time limit as we werenā€™t told
We would have loved to have had another drink /dessert etc and found it really rude so torn as to whether we would go here again after that disappointing end

Due to covid-19 we did not want to eat inside a restaurant.
We found this lovely Thai restaurant that has tables outside so went for a family dinner.
The food was amazing and beautifully displayed. They also do cocktails and our Daughter had a tequila sunrise cocktail. It was huge and highly recommended by her.
The staff are really friendly and couldn't do enough for us.
Highly recommend
