Fabulous take away food during these times would definitely recommend. Excellent quality of food and as always a pleasure dealing with the team to order our food to collect. Great to see businesses like this adapting. Thank you

Wonderful restaurant. We've eaten in Skylark a number of times and I am always impressed. The food is excellent, both the regulars and specials. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and the staff all wonderful. We always feel really well looked after by Erina, Craig and the team. In terms of great local food, i cannot speak highly enough.

The real highlights are :

the seafood dishes! delicious, fresh and always interesting.

the deserts - i dont even really like deserts but my goodness! Craig is a flipping genius with them!

the staff - such lovely people who are always really happy to ensure you've a lovely meal or takeaway in these Covid times.

Thanks so much team and keep up the great work during these difficult times! x

ps if Craig is ever up for doing some cooking lessons i'd love to get signed up!

This has to be one of the best cafe/restaurants in Eastbourne.
We have been here for coffee, cooked breakfast, lunch and, most recently, an evening meal. From a full english to Fish and Fizz (fish and chips with a glass of Proseco on Fridays) to the evening menu the food is delicious.
Our most recent visit was for an evening meal from the Christmas menu (the regular evening menu is also excellent). The whole evening including the food was lovely, the food was excellent and beautifully presented by a friendly and attentive staff. We shall definitely be returning.

The first things you notice on entering the Skylark are the re-assuring Covid precautions : face- masked staff, tables widely spaced , sanitiser ... and the very pleasant decor . We had booked a cold December long johns day and coming from different households it meant an outside table . But like the many dining indoors that day we required a lockdown distraction and boldly persevered, ignoring the sky as it became increasingly leaden grey.
It was our choice from the Christmas menu which fortified us equally with the Pinot Noir ( a fortuitous choice from the wine list and a bargain at £29 ).The mackerel and the hake are given gourmet treatment by the chef . Delectable. Then the pudding - unmissable Sticky Toffee Apple. Bliss.
Many Eastbourne restaurants have terrific menus . It's a town with a wide rage of eateries to meet tourist trade demands. But the Skylark has that oh so important additional something provided by the smiles of the staff which pervade the whole place.
My advice is check the weather forecast first for outdoor dining at the Skylark . But for those who have to dine outside and need that important lockdown escape for a couple of hours , don't hesitate. Hope that Spring is not a little late in 2021 .

I have been for breakfast and dinner, and both times walked out a very happy customer. Food is fantastic and the service is equally as impressive. Excellent menu. You get what you pay for here and that is a brilliant dining experience.

Skylark lived up to the good comments I've heard. Clean and well presented. Most importantly - very well cooked. Looking forward to a return visit

My wife and I had lunch at skylark and it felt very relaxed warm and friendly. We both had the venison sausages and sticky apple pudding and millionaire chocolate bar for dessert. The food, service and overall experience was absolutely top class. Very friendly and welcoming service. Will definitely go again.

We are from London and have spent a lot of time in Eastbourne over the past months. We have tried a lot of restaurants and have been largely disappointed. We feel that Eastbourne could be on the up but cannot understand why there are so few modern british food type places that are actually good. Yesterday’s meal though gave us some faith. All was delicious using locally sourced ingredients with friendly relaxed service with social distancing tables. If I had two improvements I would say the goats cheese starter, which was yum, could have been a touch bigger for the price and while they do a good job in creating a less cafe ambience at night with candles I’m one of those people who hate being see a openly in windows by passers by so some light blinds might be a nice idea. Open in the day and closed at night. We’ll definitely return. Thanks Skylark for keeping the faith.

One of the best starters (goats cheese, fig, beetroot) that I've had in a long time. Our mains and desert were also really delicious- good quality food cooked well.
We were pleased that a favourite, and fairly hard to find, wine was also on the list!I highly recommend Skylark for a classy, but not fussy, meal in Eastbourne.

Visited a couple of weeks ago on holiday- a charming place with great food that's clearly envisaged, prepared and executed with care for a wonderful result! Staff were all very friendly and accommodating when I had to change my booking time, and the experience was relaxing and fulfilling whilst also feeling very COVID-safe. Thank you!

Delicious cocktails. Relaxed atmosphere. Food was perfectly edible and acceptable but not outstanding. I will eat here again to give it a fair bash.

Amazing staff and very nice atmosphere. Food was a little pricey for what you got. The steak was slightly undercooked and had barely been seasoned. All other parts of dish lacked a solid flavour. Dessert was nicely presented (plum trifle) but again lacked real flavour.
