Well worth a detour when staying in Eastbourne. A delightful harbour (maybe too many high-rise flats though) and a lovely walk all the way round including while away some time watching the myriad of boats in and out of the lock. Much variety of eating places. Try the pleasure trip around the harbour - you will learn much about the area from the resourceful boat owner!

I went with my parents. It was a lovely spot to sit and watch the boats. The restaurants are not dear. The chippy is great for a snack.

Nice place to have a stroll around, good Plenty of cafes and restaurants to choose from with different cusines, including a Harvester! where you can sit and watch the boats sail by! There are a few designer shops dotted around the marina. Plenty of free parking available. There is a shopping outlet nearby including an Asda, this also has free parking.

Lovely views accross harbour, I think all have outdoor seating! There's shops too which are open in day for a browse, also walking distance to beach / sea !

If you are taking a holiday in Eastbourne, please make an effort to visit the harbour with its abundance of yatchs, boats, luxury flats, restaurants and shops. Where is it? Well you will never believe it but its behind the shopping outlet that has Asda, Boots, Next and Cineworld in it called the Crumbles. The parking is free and you really can shop all day, dance and eat all night and still enjoy the views of the thousands of sparkling lights that adorn the waterfront. I would recommend a boat cruise, this is a tour of the inner harbours from a very knowledegable guide or you can buy the book The Crumbles and walk round the inner harbour and locks, with or without your four legged friend. The harbour is a feat of engineering and is worth a look, go for coffee in one of the outdoor coffee shops or enjoy a meal al fresco. PS book restaurants in advance or be prepared to wait for a table.

Nice place to wander round and enjoy a drink and a meal.
It is a pity that all the eateries are in one part - it would be nice to find a few small bars round the place. Also couldn't buy an ice cream on the beach!

I loved Sovereign Harbour - much nicer than Brighton Marina. There are great shops, restaurants and pleasant walks around the harbour. The development has been very well planned and in the evening it looks very romantic strolling around looking at the boats and dreaming of a lottery win.

We walked here from Eastbourne Pier (about 3 miles)
The Harbour is more like those posh marinas you get in spain than a British Harbour. Some great places to eat and drink too.

Lovely harvester on the harbour front.

Just a lovely restful place to visit, good choice of restaurants to sit inside or out.. a few good shops also where you can buy unusual nick naks, jewellery, clothes etc..and only just round the corner from a large shopping park and cinema.

Neatly laid out but the Marina is really in the middle of a residential area on all four sides. If you are after a nautical experience give it a miss. It's more like a car park for boats with a few places to eat in one corner.

Took about 30 minutes to walk from Eastbourne pier to marina. I was extremely impressed with the buildings, layout and cleanliness of the whole marina. Good selection of shops and restaurants.
