Lovely place. We had a walk along the front and entered via the sea side of the harbour then walked through to find the food area. Before this we had met a couple of the locals who were EXTREMELY friendly and welcoming-telling us the best local places to visit, and pointing out the harbours newest resident-Sammy the Seal, who was basking in the mud at the waters edge. Even though we had just met this couple, they told us where they lived and invited us in for a drink-amazing!
Had a lovely meal on Saturday night in the Harvester Pub/Restaurant-very family friendly and very busy! We had the very friendly and pleasant Tina serving us-what a sweetheart she was-we all loved her, and would go there again just because of her friendly manner. Despite being very busy and rushed off her feet, her customer service skills were second to none. She could read all of the people she was serving and gave banter to us all, tailored to who she was serving-lovely girl!
Just been back tonight and went to Gringos-an American style diner. Another lovely meal and pleasant service from the young team of waitresses. The Old El Paso ribs in sauce are to DIE FOR! They literally fell off the bone and the sauce was finger licking good. We are intending to go again before we return home as we want to try Pablos, as this has been recommended by a few people.
For anybody visiting Eastbourne-definitely visit Sovereign Harbour Marina-there is loads of free parking, plety of restaurants to try, and the atmsphere is really pleasant. If I ever wanted to move to Eastbourne or visit the area again, this is most definitely the place I would like to stay in :-)

Nice place to visit either by car or using the 'Dotto' train from Eastbourne seafront. Excellent choice of cafes and restaurants and lots of nice walks around the harbours. The harbour tours boat trip is an ideal way to see the grand boats and houses. Lovely walks around the harbours, lock and over to the beach. All of the walks around the harbour are easily accessible to all along the level paved areas.

Lovely Harbour to visit good selection of places to eat. Good for people who like to see the boats. Power boat racing was on at the time - very exciting!

I have been before and it has not changed...go there and find out for yourself it is the best place in eastbourne to eat. Sit outside weather permitting and watch the boats it really is a special place to take a loved one and just relax and enjoy.

About 18 months ago i decided to move my yacht from newhaven where every day the yacht sat in the mud as nobody at all interested in fully dredging marina-no point whatsoever to employ a tiddly vessel to churn up the muddy waters and expect the next tide to take it all away. What planet are they on one has to ask??-security is zero/shower block is out of the ark-asked for 3 YEARS for lock to be dealt with plus the shaver point to be connected up.Heaven knows why visiting yachts accept such goings on.Apathy is one word that comes to mind.Am now based at Sov Hbr where for £4 a week extra I have a yacht sitting 24/7 in 12 feet of water/excellent shower block/fuel at cost/secure car parking /pontoons that are not still from D Day's;electricity supplied at sensible card topping scheme(not by blatant overcharging "scheme" at Newhaven;ability to lift out/launch vessels any time of week-in newhaven all a hit and miss event to ensure exactly at High Water plus it had to be between 0900-1500 otherwise just not interested.700 long terms contracts for 2012 and stacks of space for visitors9Newhaven only have a couple of spaces on an old pontoon with precious little facilities-shore supply/water.

I have to confess a personal interest here in that I live on the Harbour and have done so for 10 years. Eastbourne is a quaint unspoiled Victorian Town but it is worth visiting the modern side which is Sovereign Harbour. You can get there on the bus or in the summer the Dotto Train gives you a splendid journey and views. Apart from the boat trip I would recommend walking around the walkways surrounding both the North and South Harbours. The lock and the fishing boat quay are popular spots and there is a fine collection of boats and resident cormorants. Only a couple of bars and a handful of restaurants currently but all are good and varied with outside seating overlooking the South Harbour. There is a good shopping area on the old Crumbles at the rear which is shortly to be considerably upgraded. Not in the league of the mega marinas but a unique and altogether more relaxed addition to the Eastbourne experience itself.

I was recommended to visit Sovereign North Harbour Marina for unusual gifts ideas. I was delighted with 'Bright Ideas' which had an excellent selection of gifts, homewares and clothing including jewellery, shoes & handbags. I bought a gift from there which was giftwrapped for me while I waited and the staff were extremely helpful & friendly. There is a selection of places to eat with outdoor seating to enjoy the harbour views and the cafe staff were also friendly & helpful. This area was well looked after & clean plus free car parking & loos. There are boat trips available, a lovely place to visit even for the peace & calmness of being near the water. You could even live here if you wanted, as there are various residential developments to buy or rent with some stunning harbour views!

I was expecting more. It didn't compare to Portsmouth or other marina areas. Not a lot of choice of restaurants, few shops

We stayed in an apartment just off the north harbor. For a quiet place to stay with easy access to Eastbourne it was good. the harbor itself is nothing special unless you are into boats. The weather wasn't to good so we were stuck inside. The shops and restaurants are okay nothing exciting. It is nice to be able to walk along the beach and hunt for rocks.

We were expecting more than just a couple of shops and restaurants, so were disappointed in that respect.
However, the fact that the Collective Spirit boat just happened to be on display there on that day only, really made up for the lack of facilities. It was really exciting to see the boat at such close quarters.

this is a bit difficult to find, we went by bus,you have to get off at Asda then walk through a big outside shopping centre to get to the new sovereign Harbour. It is worth it,there are some very pleasant restaurants where you can sit out and watch the boats. We did a harbour boat trip which only cost £3.50 for a very interesting and informative tour

The development of the harbour significantly enhanced Eastbourne's facilities.
With restaurants, bars, coffee shop, retail outlets...and nearby cinema & shopping area...the harbour attracts residents and visitors alike.
There is also a fishing fleet...and boat trips.

The harbour marina is awash with boats of all shapes and sizes and it is just great to stroll along watching them sailing in and out of the harbour. There is also an abundance of cafes and bars with outside seating for a leisurely meal or drink in the sunshine. A great place to pass an hour or two!

If you take bus 99 from Eastbourne, you'll get to sovereign harbour within 10 minutes. There's also a shopping centre nearby. We went there to find a nice place to eat. It's difficult to choose, since there are quite a few good restaurants. After dinner, you can make a nice walk between all the boats.

Definitely the best place to eat Italian cuisine down at the harbour, the service is exceptional and the staff are all lovely. They always have a nice specials board as well so don't forget to check what is available.
