Well, never been to Eastbourne before, but needed a late Jan break as been working away in Hong Kong, leaving just in time as things turned out.
Anyway, fancied a bit of winter walking along the coast.

Well the hotel is super, classic and ornate, but super friendly and certainly not stuffy.

As usual the shower, the bed and the quality of the sausage at breakfast are the key to making something from good to excellent. All three were perfect.

Large room, simply laid out, a little dated maybe, but clean and absolutely fine.
Breakfast, as mentioned was great, plenty of choice and its served in an enormous dining room, but no waiting for tea/coffee and 'special' eggs.

Obvioulsy the location is just the best, on the front (well across the road), short stroll to town, sslighly longer stroll to the coast, the cliffs and beachy head.

Must say, pleasantly suprised with Eastbourne, has a reputation for 'old folk, whatever that may mean, but it was not as tired as some of our costal towns look and feel in winter.

Will be back to the Grand, we both loved it.

Beautiful seafront hotel with First class service from every member of staff. The Seaview suite was beautifully appointed with excellent bedding. The bathroom was a little dated but all worked well and was very well maintained. A superb experience.

I have had several happy stays at The Grand. The staff are fantastic; unfailingly kind and helpful. Some of the rooms are getting a little tired but others are beautiful. I always look forward to breakfast. I love the ambience of the hotel. It is relaxing and unstuffy.

We adore the grand hotel Easbourne, we have stayed a few times previously for special occasions and decided to head there for the first time with our son (toddler). The staff are all so kind, welcoming and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. We arrived a little early, but were told that it would be ok to use the pool and our bags would be taken to our room. We were then treated to an unexpected upgrade to a truly beautiful room. You can't appreciate just how special this made our staff, and we are so so grateful- thankyou. The room was perfect, everything we could need, including a tiny robe and rubber duck for our son.
We ordered room service for dinner, and weren't disappointed, everything arrived hot in silver trays with everything we needed.
The pool was so lovely and warm and the sauna and steam room were fab.

We just wanted to say thankyou for another perfect stay, we cannot wait to return :)

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel all the staff are pleasant, friendly and very professional. I did not realise that this was the Ritz but in Eastbourne! I felt very special and truly appreciated all the efforts from the staff from reception when they gave me a birthday to my birthday cake in the restaurant.

Walked in and negotiated. Often passed as a child/teenager and younger person and have always wanted to stay there. Lovely room, reasonable price. Comfortable bed. Luxury towels and bedding. Mason Brown products. Good shower. Bathrobe.
Breakfast was delicious and hot. Dinner was not so good value for the price. The steak was chewy and I commented but nothing done. Wrote to them with feedback and again negative response.
Glad I stayed though. My Grandma would be pleased I snagged a good deal.

Just came back from a spa break at The Grand. I must start by saying the service at the hotel is exemplary. The only time I’ve had as good as or better service is in Dubai. So it’s up there with the best or second best service I’ve ever experienced.

The spa was good, although a little dated in some places. I really enjoyed my treatments and Beatrice who did them was great! We spent some time relaxing by the pool but the relaxing soon stopped when kids arrived. I get the pool serves the whole hotel and all it’s guests but when it’s in the same place as the spa which should be relaxing, it takes away from it a bit when kids are shouting and jumping in the pool.

Dinner in the restaurant was good, not 5 star, but nice all the same, with a very extensive wine menu. Breakfast the following morning was really good. A great selection.

I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again

Spent a Saturday night here with a friend on one of the deals found online.
Arrived and struggled to park but the valet was quick to sort out a space for me and came running towards us to collect our luggage.
Found the staff and service to be impeccable and completely without fault.
Our Twin room with an inland view was perfectly adequate with tea making facilities, a Nespresso machine, hairdryer and a Molton Brown toiletries. Bed felt very luxurious and was very comfy.
Had two lovely treatments in the spa with Joanne and enjoyed the spa facilities but it was a bit cramped with quite a few others on spa deals. There is very little space and seating to sit leisurely and relax. Then Five children arrived in the pool and that ruined the relaxing and peaceful setting of a spa day albeit for approx 45 minutes.
The facilities and the decor throughout the hotel are a bit tired and it is in need of a serious overhaul in places but everywhere was very clean. There is evidence that the hotel is undergoing works to refurb though.
Dinner in the Green Room was a lovely experience. We had drinks in the bar first and the staff were very attentive to our needs. The food is not to the standard I would have expected for a 5* hotel but pleasant all the same with no cause for complaint.
Breakfast was fantastic though and I enjoyed this immensely.
If I had one bit of advice to the hotel it would be to lose the LCD faux fire in the fireplace in the afternoon tea area. It cheapens what is a lovely and intricate area.
All in all a lovely stay and would come back again.

room was not as clean as one would expect for 5 star hotel
hairs in bath,toilet has staining
last guest registration card stuck in window to stop rattling from wind,tv too small for room
dropped car keys under desk only to be covered in dust and cobwebs when retrieved

We stayed three nights to celebrate my wife's birthday and benefited from a special offer available in the winter months. We enjoyed having dinner once in each of the two restaurants (and ate out with friends on the third night). The room was clean and warm. The staff were friendly and helpful without being too intrusive. We used the indoor pool on two occasions. It's quite expensive but worth it for a special occasion.

The only 5* hotel in town but due to personal taste the rooms are extremely dated an prices of food an drink are very high. Nice walk into town along the sea front. Nice to have parking at the hotel. Indoor pool is a nice edition. Outdoor pool is nice but not many seats round it so if going in summer be quick to get to it. Overall nice wknd stay but needs bringing up to date.

Beautiful hotel on Eastbourne front. Staff very attentive and knowledgable. Food very good. Room lovely. Fab comfy bed but room a little stuffy resulting in disturbed sleep which was unfortunate. Lovely massage in the spa.

We have stayed at the Grand a few times. We enjoy the grand old building, the excellent courtesy of the staff and the fine rooms. We had a junior suite and it provided for a very pleasurable stay. The staff throughout are very professional and attentive. The restaurant can disappoint. We found some courses were good but others appeared mean with inferior ingredients.

We went as a special birthday treat for one in our party. The outside of hotel looks very smart & the reception area looks every inch a 5* venue. We were shown in to the lounge & seated at comfy wing chairs & a sofa. The staff were friendly & professional. We all had the full tea, some without alcohol & some with added champagne. Tasty sandwiches, small piece of sausage roll (unusual but yummy) cakes were ok, I've had better, scones lovely. Not enough jam & cream but it's easy to order more. No problem either to get top up's of tea/coffee. Hefty service charge on top which seems a bit steep considering cost of the tea but overall a pleasant experience. Relaxing atmosphere, wonderful seafront location.

Lovely time as expected as have stayed here previously. Love the hotel, the staff and service were wonderful. A great weekend and thoroughly recommend it. A 5 star hotel that is well worth its rating and continues to maintain its very high standards

We had a great time staying with our grandchildren. They loved the swimming pool, the milk and cookies delivered before bedtime and the general feeling of being welcome.
We visit Eastbourne regularly and always try to stay at The Grand - they have very good three for two night deals.

We chose the Grand Hotel Eastbourne to celebrate my 60th birthday with all the family. Our grandsons enjoyed the pool, whilst the adults luxuriated in the spa facilities. The breakfasts were fantastic, and the rooms were very comfortable. Despite inclement weather, we even managed bracing walks along the promenade. We were all sorry to leave the fun and luxurious surroundings.

Had a lovely time at The Grande.
Very impressive big building.
Staff were very helpful.
My Indian head massage was wonderful!
We also had an afternoon tea which was all you could want.
The waitresses also brought over additional cakes with Birthday candles & sang Happy Birthday to us.
Made our experience very special.
Thank you The Grande.
