One of the best fine dining option in the area, stunning food and great service, wide selection of fine wines and drink.
Classic looking hotel, rooms are very clean and welcoming, quality sleeep, check in/out smooth with professional attitude.

Back in it’s day i am sure it was Grand. Today it has 5 stars but it lacks the genuine 5 star luxury.
Positives,
top of the list - the staff. Most of the staff were courteous friendly helpful and professional. Parking isn’t an extra charge. Location is perfect near the sea ideal for coastal walks. Breakfast was delicious everything you would expect from 5 stars. Top quality fresh ingredients, table decor was classy and very fitting of the building. We were allowed to check in 2 hours before checkin time. We were upgraded to partial sea view without asking. Room was very clean. Nice large comfy bed.
Areas for improvement,
The spa leisure club area is a disgrace for a 5 star hotel. The changing room area is tiny considering the size of the hotel plus hosting non hotel guests. The area around the pool is sad tired and quite frankly the chairs and cushions need throwing away! The cushions were visibly dirty! The black water machine is disgusting, dirty and falling to pieces. The massage treatment rooms need upgrading. I had a full body massage and i have never lay on such an uncomfortable bed, i had serious neck ache after lying down for 30 minutes on my front. It’s impossible to lay down with your head facing forward. Even the massage therapist said the same and she has already told the management. The hotel is dog friendly. I like dogs, but not when they were barking all night and kept us awake. We called reception twice to complain. Maybe the hotel should have the dog owner rooms separate to dog free rooms? Finally our room was spacious and clean but the maintenance team needed to be informed that the sink was completely blocked and water wouldn’t go away. The light switches were wired incorrectly so we couldn’t have the bed side lamp on without having the main light on. We reported this to reception in the hope that the next hotel guest doesn’t experience these problems. It amazes me in so many hotels this happens because guests and/or the housekeeping team can’t be bothered to report it so it can be fixed.

Overall our 1 night stay was an enjoyable experience but the management team needs to prioritise areas for a total refurb. I.e the leisure club.

We loved this beautiful palace hotel. The public areas were just beautiful as were the staff in every department. I quite like a bit of faded elegance but our room was just a bit too shabby for the package price we paid. The lighting was poor as was the lack of sockets to plug in our phones. I do not watch much TV but the tiny set was a poor show for a 5 Star establishment. We could barely see the screen from our bed! Apart from the room being a bit of a let down, the highlight of our stay was dinner at the Mirabelle Restaurant. Excellent food and service to match!

We stayed for 2 nights in late November. Simon, the concierge/porter wouldn't have been more helpful or welcoming. Our room was lovely and it felt very welcoming. Some parts of the pool area are a little tired and we found the drinks prices quite expensive, even when compared to London. Breakfast was very good with a good variety and quality of food. I would recommend a stay here and the overall rating of 4.5 is probably fair.

Perfect location, beautiful building, staff very pleasant and efficient, bed, especially pillows excellent
enabling a perfectly good night's sleep. Would stay again, but would have to know whether dogs
had been in the bedroom allocated to me.

Stayed one night as a birthday treat and was special from start to end and had a lovely afternoon champagne tea too. Hotel was luxurious with comfortable rooms with a lovely bed and fluffy towels. Definitely recommend.

This was a beautiful hotel, our room (with a side sea view) was extremely nice and the breakfast outstanding. Although brief, our stay was entirely satisfactory and enjoyable. Booked online, the room rate was good so in view of our favourable experience, I can say that we achieved value for money despite the hotel being an expensive one overall.

This was my 2nd recent visit &,I have to say just about everything was exceptional, the level of dedication every staff member has is quite amazing, nothings too much trouble,
If I’m being honest I’ve never come across better service, from the minute I arrived until checkout I was made to feel special. My room was lovely & spacious, the hotel itself is 5 star & that includes food too.
The only minor thing was poor Wi-fi signal in my room.
I recommend to all..

11 friends met to celebrate at least 2 birthdays. All our wishes were accommodated effortlessly..From the meeting our car in pouring rain with an umbrella and our luggage taken to reception through comfortable rooms , bar and dining room . The dining staff accommodated an extra person on a table of 10 without fuss. The service was jolly and efficient.

Yet another stay at the lovely Grand Hotel in Eastbourne, good food, lovely staff and an excellent location. This is at least the fourth time we have stayed there and we are already booked to rerun in 2020. it is a great venue for a family or friends get together and the staff are charming and very helpful.

Very impressive hotel. Staff were exceptional and very helpful. Everything was excellent apart from the mattress in the room. Very lumpy and soft. Had to be careful not to roll off. I was not to keen for the buffet breakfast.

This, being our 4th year visiting this event seems to have progressed every year, The setting in the Compton room is immaculate and is perfect for this event, and we have gained new friends as a result Just one minor downside is that we feel our room decoration (room 212) looked a little tired, and is probably ready for upgrade, but that did not detract from the enjoyable weekend experienced.

We stayed at The Grand for a Pasadena Roof Orchestra event. It was a treat between us three sisters in lieu of Xmas and birthday gifts. The hotel was as grand as anticipated. The food and drink were excellent quality. Our room was very comfortable and the extras, like having the sofa bed made up and put back each day, made it extra luxurious for us. The staff made us feel extremely welcome and were very helpful and friendly. If we could go every year, we certainly would!

I took my Mum to the Grand to celebrate her birthday. It was absolutely wonderful. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the whole atmosphere was incredible (and not at all snooty!).
Guests must stay B&B to enjoy the most delicious breakfast.
We will definitely return!

The Grand is in a delightful location and has excellent facilities. My daughter and myself experienced a relaxing mini break together. We made use of the gym and swimming pool in the health club, followed by leisurely cocktails and an excellent evening meal in the Garden Restaurant. All the staff were courteous and knowledgeable, and we never felt rushed or crowded. Our room (a junior suite) was immaculate and spacious.

We love the Grand and everything it stands for! We have been coming around 15 years to this property. The staff have become family and we have a very warm welcome every time we stay at the hotel. We have tried all hotels in the area and it’s the Grand every time.

We were travelling light and fast through the area and booked a night at this fabulous hotel without knowing anything about it. Because we didn't have extra clothes with us, we were not suitably dressed for entrance to the dining room, so ordered our tea as room service. It was excellent, although as I'm a non-drinker, the bottle of Coca Cola looked out of place on the trays. Our room was very spacious, clean as and with a great bed and bath etc and just a brilliant view to yester-year luxury. Very Downton Abbey feel. After a great night's sleep, we discovered that we were indeed adequately dressed for breakfast and enjoyed a fabulous dining room with staff all dolled up to the nines. That said, everyone we dealt with there was thoroughly professionally friendly and we were made to feel welcome. Much appreciated for a couple of old Kiwis. It is expensive, of course, but if you are passing through Eastbourne, we thoroughly recommend The Grand for a stay. Tres posh. Men, remember to take a jacket and good shoes, as they don't like sneakers in the dining hall.

We came to the Grand for a well deserved respite. My husband has been very ill in hospital for 14 weeks and this short respite in one of our favourite venues was a promised treat for when he felt better.

Always high standard from professional staff, always a pleasure to visit the hotel, very relaxing environment. Possibly due to the hard work by the staff. Always leave fully refreshed. Great. M. Smith.
