Just spent one night away on a spa break at The Grand with some girlfriends. Our every need was met with warmth and grace and even though the leisure facilities were a little tired, the wonderful service more than made up for it. A beauty hotel offering real quality and charm. I can commend this hotel to everyone.

A grand old building with lovely public rooms. Service was timely, discreet and courteous at all times. Had dinner in the Garden Room and it was very good indeed. Felt guilty that I had not packed a jacket to wear as the food, setting and service marked it out as a little bit more than your normal dining out experience. We had booked a one night stay to be on the coast and so after loading up on the delicious breakfast on Sunday morning we did what we had come for and had a brisk walk along the prom to take the sea air. Struck lucky with the weather and it was beautiful. The only issues were that the mattress was too soft compared to our normal one so we did not have a great night's sleep and, secondly, it suffers like all 'old' hotels (by which I mean ones constructed before the days of gyms and spas being a nice little earner on the side) from having inadequate gym and pool facilities. Always going to be a problem when you have to shoehorn them into the spaces that you have available in such a delightful old building like this rather than having purpose built facilities like the ones I use in my local, and recently constructed, local hotel gym.All in all a very pleasant break away.

Stayed here with my mother for her 86th birthday and it was faultless. Impeccable service and such a great team who are obviously very well trained. I work in HR and I’m sure this is a company who values its people because there wasn’t even one person who let the side down, in terms of service, every detail was perfect. We had a family lunch on the Sunday which was also fabulous. We had a suite with a sea view and it was fine. I was supervised it didn’t have a separate shower (there was plenty of room for one) but maybe I’ve spent too long in the USA!

Stayed dye to an evening event. Room was big and very comfortable. Room service breakfast was 30 minutes late due to card not picked up and no paper delivered. The room was very nice but the marble surround on the basin was not rounded off and was quite sharp; knocked myself a few times.Overall the stat was very good and would recommend staying here.

Very courteous, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Seemed to second-guess our needs, as all good staff should. Lovely atmosphere. Clean and well appointed rooms - coffee/tea, tissues, etc, re-stocked without us having to ask. A great place to relax and forget the outside world.

The whole of our stay was wonderful. The Grand is one of the old style hotels which corset you from the time you enter the door until the time you leave. The porter who carries your bags gives you a comprehensive description of their facilities. When you are settled in your room Customer Care ring to see that you are comfortable and if there is anything you need. Each evening your bed is turned down pyjamas laid out, headlights on.The staff in the bar remember your drink. Breakfast is comprehensive and we'll prepared. Two restaurants with good menus, fair prices and an excellent wine list.

This hotel is amazing - whilst it is old and with that comes a few very minor problems the staff from those who greet you when you drive up to the chamber maids the management of Mr Webley who is very ably assisted by Mrs Smith and Mr Hill are superb

We were visiting for my wife’s birthday and have already booked next year and we are now so looking forward to Xmas & the New Year

Thanks again to all

Attentive, helpful staff and peaceful ambience made for a very relaxed and enjoyable lunch at The Grand. The food was tasty and freshly prepared, the service unhurried yet efficient. Tea was served in silver tea pots with offers to help pour if required. The guest we had brought along in her wheelchair felt totally at ease and access to the hotel and disabled toilet was very easy. We will definitely call in again.

Great location (definitely recommend the rooms with sea views), excellent food & comfy beds. It's an old building with very high ceilings but on a wet & windy day in November we found our room & all the public areas warm & cosy. The health club/spa facilities were very busy on the days we were there which is great for the hotel & proves it's popular but to enjoy more peace & quiet we ended up using the facilities v late in the evening. I think we may have just been unlucky but v noisy floorboards in the room above us & in areas of our room detracted from an otherwise quiet & relaxing environment.

Had a one night stay at the Grand and it was lovely. All the staff were polite, professional and very friendly- not just to those of us staying at the hotel but others visiting the spa or restaurants.
Things were done properly and as they should be and we could tell that staff had good training. All the small touches matter.
The room was clean and comfortable and quiet. The only one small gripe we had was that getting all we needed at breakfast was slow and a bit chaotic but the food and drinks during our stay were very good.
We will be back.

I took my mum here for afternoon tea for her birthday. It was a hot day and we were hoping to sit outside but we weren't given that option. We also weren't able to park in the car park so had to pay for parking nearby, which was slightly annoying.

The afternoon tea was nicely presented and tasted good too. The waitress serving us was friendly and attentive.

The only thing i didn't like was the decor, very dated and chairs not the same height as the table, meaning we had to bend down to enjoy our afternoon tea, which becomes back breaking after a while.

We would attend again as the food was very good! They were also happy to take photos!

One day stay can sometimes not be enough in such nice surroundings and the hospitality of all the staff .Shame I had to moan about the Wi Fi ! Anyway if that is all I had to complain about then life is good and if I may just say whilst the hotel is really GRAND like it’s name if the funds are available the Grden Restaurant is in some need of refurbishment around the ceiling areas - I hope these comments are. Not taken in the wrong contextYou have a lovely hotel that needs all the TLC it can get and afford.

My wife & I got married near by so I wanted to surprise my new wife. We arrived in a luxury car which the Grand had helped arrange late after our wedding. They gave us a lovely welcome & had put rose petals & strawberries dipped in chocolate in the room. Thank you to all the staff at the Grand, Eastbourne for making the beginning of our honeymoon so special . With top class fine dining & facilities you ask for more . The Grand is definitely five star

A stunning first impression of the building as we drove in, even on a rainy evening. A polite and helpful doorman took care of our luggage and parking. The interior was equally impressive. People were just leaving after a special afternoon tea when there had been an orchestra playing. We were sorry to have missed it! There were comfortable chairs by a warm fire. The corridors and stairways were wide and gave the impression of spaciousness. Our room was large and very clean, the bathroom had all you require. The décor and furnishings were not modern, but comfortable. The hotel has an indoor pool and spa in the basement which unfortunately we did not have time to use. The dinner did not meet our expectations. I would visit this hotel again. Eastbourne made a good centre for visiting Brighton, Battle and Hastings.

I felt like I was stepping back in time with the large receiving rooms, sweeping staircases, large ornate oil paintings and long carpeted corridors. The hotel is located across the street from the sea. The grounds are beautiful. The Garden Restaurant serves pretty good food and is casual (shirt with collar required but jackets are not).

The hotel is very nice for family stay.
Room is pretty big for family stay. It has a kid playroom where you can leave your kids there for 2 hours.
Also, if your room has a full sea-view, you can see the sunrise which is stunning.
