Stayed here on a business seminar. Room was decent enough and clean. Toiletries from Molton Brown was a night touch. Means and service were good and the staff were always polite and attentive. Booked parking of which a blackboard is placed in front of your space so no one nicks it before you get there. Another nice touch. One day I nipped out and someone did take it but the car park attendant was very apologetic and found me something else suitable.

What a lovely place with genuinely nice, polite, well-trained staff. From arrival to departure I have been impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of everyone who works here. I was travelling alone on a 2-day break for a well-deserved rest which was booked for me by my husband.

The room I was assigned was spacious and spotless. The beds are soft which is normally an issue for me but I slept soundly in crisp, comfortable sheets. Unfortunately I had to be moved for my 2nd night owing to the unacceptable noise created by the people in the room above me - this was done quickly and efficiently by staff.

Dinner in the restaurant was ok - it didn't impress me as much as I had hoped but then room service on the 2nd night was delicious.

I would recommend this lovely hotel- so nice to see genuine hospitality and in a lovely setting.

I have tonight returned from a 3 day stay at this wonderful hotel in Eastbourne. I cannot praise the staff enough. I was a little nervous staying on my own. I need not have worried at all! From the welcome at the front desk from SARAH, until my farewell today, I felt totally “at home”. Everyone was cheerful and kind. They really appear to enjoy the hotel too: it has a unique and special history. Long may it continue. I will be back......
The room was spotless and large. The bed was super comfy, everything worked easily, (tv, kettle, heating, shower etc.), and housekeeping was efficient and unobtrusive.
Breakfast provided anything you could wish for and my porridge was perfect. The outdoor pool is heated. What a bonus it was open in October! Upgrade the indoor pool area and you will have the perfect retreat. This was the first of what I hope will be regular visits for me. Cannot wait to book again.

We enjoyed a lovely night away by the sea at the Grand. The hotel really lives up to its name and all the staff were really attentive and friendly. Our children (4 and 5) really enjoyed the outdoor and indoor pools but unfortunately we didn’t get to use the kids club. I booked direct with the hotel and saved a lot instead of booking sites by opting for an executive room with two fold down beds for the kids instead of the more expensive junior suite. We still had plenty of room. The food was fantastic , both the included early family evening meal in the garden restaurant and breakfast .Most clientele were generally elderly but still the staff welcomed everyone including our young children. We wished we hadn’t got work the next day and could stay a few more nights !

We stayed at The Grand to celebrate uncles 92nd birthday and we coukdn’t have been in a better place. The staff are so helpful, nothing is too much trouble. We had lovely rooms, a side sea view and a full sea view. Beautifully decorated and Morton Brown toiletries. Great food in the Garden Restaurant, both for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Please change the costs of the drinks as this seams to be the only disappointing part of our stay and yes I would stay again but make arrangements to spend our time at other establishments in eastbourne area so if you want a very pleasant stay but are not put of by having a stroll in the evening then this is the place to stay

Lovely staff, great communal areas and good food with a dedicated vegetarian menu. A bit let down by dated rooms, small beds and average plumbing. And to be honest £16 for a gin and tonic is a bit cheeky.

I have been staying at this hotel frequently for the past 20 years. It never disappoints. An excellent hotel with great service, lovely spacious rooms and fantastic location. The restaurants are both lovely with fabulous service.

We visited here for three nights, staying in a side sea-view room. All staff were professional, friendly and helpful. The hotel is large and we particularly liked the numerous large public lounges and spaces, which meant that we could always find somewhere to sit and relax. Our room had everything we needed and was serviced promptly each day. We also received a turn-down service each evening.

Food was excellent and I will review the two restaurants separately. Breakfast was serviced in the main Garden Restaurant and as well as the hot and cold buffet you can also have your breakfast cooked to order directly from the kitchen, should you wish, at no extra charge. We had our lunch outside in the sun each day, served from the lounge menu. What a treat to sit in the sun in October!

We enjoyed watching the dancing in the lounge in the evening. We also made use of the snooker room. There were two swimming pools, indoor and outdoors (heated) which we did not use, but they looked very inviting.

We will certainly hope to visit again soon.

Old style elegance and efficiency combined with modern amenity. The style and quality of all the employees is beyond reproach and the Grand is surely the jewel in the crown of all that is good with the best of English hotels.

This is a very gracious hotel, beautifully situated and well worth a stay. The staff are excellent; the food good and the rooms excellent, particularly if you get a sea view and a balcony. The cheaper rooms are good but not the experience you get looking out to sea. Look put for the deal with includes room, breakfast and dinner. This is excellent value. We took a couple from New Zealand there to stay on their last night of a holiday in the UK - they loved it. Great place to go away for a mid-week break. Make use of the pool and spa facilities.

Took my partner to lunch at The Mirabelle for his birthday. Delicious gin and tonics sitting on the terrace in the sunshine. Very good service, menus for our lunch to look at and choose our food. The restaurant has reopened and is more relaxed, no longer requires men to wear jackets and a tie, which makes it smart but more casual. Delicious food, from a varied set menu. Service was really good efficient and friendly. Good wine list. Great value. Would definitely recommend it as a treat.

This was our 5th visit over the last few years & since our previous trip, the facade has been painted & now looks terrific. Also, internally it has had alot of money spent on it. Our bedroom was just revamped. We love the old world glamour of the cocktail bar & this hotel is truely one of the grande old dames of the South coast. Not cheap but well worth a visit

We enjoyed a one night stay when visiting Eastbourne to watch a show at the nearby Devonshire Park Theatre. It is a beautiful hotel with very smart, friendly and attentive staff. An excellent breakfast was served in the beautiful surroundings of the Garden Restaurant. Furthermore, despite it being mid-October, we were delighted to be able to use the outdoor swimming pool since it was heated to a pleasant temperature. The indoor pool was also lovely and there is a jacuzzi and steam room next to the indoor pool as well as a sauna in each of the changing rooms. Overall, a lovely experience and one well worth repeating.

Single? treat yourself to an out of season retreat to The Grande - beautiful outdoor swimming opportunities and walking. Old fashioned manners and service - so glad I didn't waste time on flights . It's all here - as long as the weather is good!

We stayed for two nights in this wonderful hotel. We enjoyed afternoon tea, courtesy of our daughter who had bought a voucher as a birthday present for my wife. The afternoon tea was delicious, beautifully presented and when the waitress learned it was my wife's birthday she spoke to the chef who sent us a little cake with Happy Birthday written on the plate. A lovely touch and much appreciated. Dinner in the Mirabelle restaurant in the evening proved to be superb. My wife is still talking about the pea and courgette risotto. I enjoyed the duck which was perfectly cooked and again beautifully presented. Our room was very comfortable and we enjoyed the sea views.Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of high quality food from the buffet. All the staff were very attentive and friendly. A really enjoyable experience and we will definitely return.

First visit and very enjoyable. All staff friendly and well trained. Dining experience and health club both very good. Bedroom in need of freshening and renewing of carpet and furniture required. Disabled room good but why is the only disabled room a ‘suite’, with accompanying expensive price tag?

Just brilliant everytime we go no matter what the occasion. Stays, dinners, private dining or afternoon teas, The Grand Hotel has it all and excels in a class of its own.

The Mirabelle is superb and particular praise must go to Benjamin who is always so friendly and welcoming with exceedingly good knowledge.

I booked this break for my boyfriends birthday, and it surely did not disappoint! The staff were so friendly and helpful. On arrival we had a chilled bottle of champagne, fresh strawberries and hand made chocolates! Then at turn down rose petals were scattered on the bed with a Milton brown gift bag! The rooms were spacious and elagant. I can't wait to stay again and would recommend to all!
