As a travelling salesman I spend a good 3 or 4 nights a week in hotels all over the country. Usually spending my evenings in the hotel restaurant or bar eating the usual burger or an equally uninteresting pie.
I decided that another night in the hotel bar was going to send me under.
Upon my wanders along the Eastbourne seafront a noticed the sign for TukTuk. My love of Indian food and desire to visit India drew me in.
A warm welcome from the team, a cold beer on arrival and an exciting menu to read through certainly set this experience off to a good start.
I chose the Meat Thali. I've always like small plates, tapas and the opportunity to try as many things as possible. I made the right choice.
I don't want to give to much away but I highly recommend TukTuk. The whole experience was great.

I came to tuk tuk with my 2 kids and other half recently and wasn't sure what to expect as we don't eat a lot of Indian but have had it before. The menu was really interesting so we ordered the food And was amazed with how delicious the meat thaali we ordered looked. The food was absolutely fantastic and delicious! The thaali had a mixture of varieties in it. My other has had Indian a couple times but said this was the best feel restaurant he has ever been to with really good food. I totally agree as the food was bang on and lovely friendly customer service, order came very promptly no time wasted. The more and more we ordered after our thaali dish was just more and more exciting as the food was beautifully presented. The restaurant was very comfortable and and relaxing. We would highly recommend going there if u fancy a homely and relaxing feel with delicious food. Lots of variety. If u have kids please don't hesitate to take them there as theres something for everyone. Food was not so spicy for kids at all. Me and my kids absolutely loved it! And had already planned to come back soon!

been there on our visit to Eastbourne, we tried a lot of restaurants and had very high expectations in regards to the food. I had the seafood thali, my fish cake was more of potato than fish, the curry itself had too much coconut milk. overall for me I felt the food to be average, felt I was eating from a buffet. Street Food hmmmm not quite sure, iits just the next door curry house.

Bored with Fish and Chips? Not that there aren't some fantastic chip shops in Eastbourne but it's great to see something as new as Tuk Tuk. We went with a vegetarian and all of us had a really satisfying two meal – two small courses and rice or a chapati for around £10 each.

It was great to be presented with a menu where there was so many things I wanted to try. It is different to so many of the curry house around. The flavours were great, with everything tasting fresh. Great meal and great value. I will be back!

Visited on a Saturday night with friends. What a great buzz of atmosphere! Tables full of groups laughing and chatting in an informal setting. We all stuffed ourselves, trying food we wouldn't normally go for, had a laugh, a drink or two and paid £17 a head. Some of the dishes were very tasty (I particularly liked the Dosa and chicken on the mixed tandoori platter), and others were average but the latter wouldn't stop us from returning. Great smiley attentive service.

This place has become a regular and i never get bored of the taste. I just cant seem to get enough. I haven't tried the whole menu yet but everything i have tried tastes so unique.
The place is always buzzing and atmosphere is always great. I always feel as of i am dining in an indian street cafe every time.
There is something for every tastebud I highly recommend to everyone who wants to try new indian flavours and dishes.
Well done to Tuk Tuk for bringing this unique Restaurant/indian street cafe to Eastbourne. It's one of a kind.

The style of this cafe is very different to most curry houses and they even use metal plates and other kit to set it apart. But all the dishes we had could have been enjoyed at most curry houses, and with three key differences (i) bigger portion sizes (ii) superior flavours and (iii) lower prices, Yes, the food at Tuk Tuk doesn't taste very good and their prices are high. Service is good, though and the atmosphere is quite good.

Arrived at end of lunch time and our group were the only customers. Tried the meat veg and fish thalis. My meat thali was only just warm. Some meat tough although flavour was better than your average Indian and more authentic. The veg thali was much better . Fish thalis was poor. Mostly deep fried bits in batter. Must wife tried the does which was good and the pal bhaji that was more like a soup with a bread roll. Nothing like one Rick Stein had in India. That said,I would give a a second try.

We came to Eastbourne for a day and we were wondering where to go for dinner. Because of the good reviews on trip adv, we decided to go to Tuk Tuk. And we were not disappointed! The food is amazing, we had a meat Thali and a couple of vegetarian dishes on the side. I never leave reviews but i am so happy With the service, i decided to leave one. Keep up the good work!!

Came here after reading a lot of good reviews and I can only say that they must have been written by people who don't eat Indian food often.
Service was good and quick, the restaurant is very nice. Whoever wrote the menu did a good job as everything sounded lovely, but in reality the food is nothing you couldn't buy in a supermarket to heat up at home. I think some of the stuff on the menu was pre-prepared (bought in) frozen food.
None of the curry dishes had any vegetables, just sauce and meat. Vindaloo wasn't even Madras hot, no potatoes either, which are essential in a vindaloo. Didn't even have a hint of the zest that you associate with a vindaloo aside from the heat. I don't think it had even seen a chilli throughout the entirety of its creation. Far too much sauce, good naan bread though.
The atmosphere is nice, but the food is just sadly lacking. If you want a very mild and safe Indian meal in a nice enough place then this is fine. If you want something with spice and bold flavours then look elsewhere.

We visited based on the restaurants good trip advisor reviews. The menu is Indian tapas and there are lots of dishes to choose from. We ordered about 4 dishes each which was about right. It was good to be able to try lots of dishes and we didn't feel bloated at the end of meal as you often do when you eat Indian.
